Granule centers are illegal in amtgard weapons, including the spell ball, plus if you live some where in which it rains, the rice is going to end up being a mess. This spell ball was also to small and wouldn't throw very well, it would be better if you use a lose ball of rubber bands for the center, it would be larger, add weight, not hurt, and be water proof.
While I have always thought hat it was a bad idea to use rice as a core for projectiles, I'm talking about the actual rules, not a view point. Page nine in the rulebook for projectile construction says "Materials you may use for projectile cores include foam,
sweatshirt material, and other soft, non-granular and non-rigid
materials." So rice is a no no as it is a granular core. This was a change when 7th edition came out.
I understand, but my wardens have always approved my spell balls. But I now think that I may need to change what I have made them out of. Perhaps I will make a new video for the purpose of other peoples understanding.
You can use a wash cloth, a thin cloth is perfered but not so thin it break open and you lose the filler everywhere, this was fairly thick, but soft - so whatever you can find is good. This is one of my many accounts, (BlackLegionPainting, The Fallen of Eryndor, Khrapovitsky)
Yeah you bet... I am in the process of making a tripod. And im fairly good at putting together videos, I didn't neccessarily feel like editing this one. Do you have any video request? and or people who want to sub. HeHe...
Oh my apologies for the viewers, the electrical tape is to wrap around the tie once you are done.

Yes, well I understand where you are coming from, but I have been using these with my chapter for ages.

See, once again - This is my other account.

@abcquack Essentially it was thin black and 'denim like', but still semi-soft.

Eryndor season opener. Dagorhir I assume. I know it's not SCA, ECS or any other REAL full contact sports.

Good old Amtgard Spellballs. Used for combat and feeding the local wildlife. Good first video. Might I suggest a tripod to keep your camera up right.
