I'm 27 and still not out to my parents. I've been in school the last 6 years, so I live at home still. I suffer from depression and anxiety over having had to live in the closet for so long. I'm really lonely, I don't know how to cope living with my parents who have issues of their own. It's tough to find a job/income due to my anxiety/depression. I like that she does not say "it gets better;" she merely says that "we need you" and that you are loved. @Trumpetsongz88 Yeah. It's all Jesus. When we think that by helping out at church more often, for example, will give us a better chance into getting heaven... we're dead wrong. Same goes for when we think we won't get into heaven for helping out. This is called legalism, and it undermines what Jesus did on the cross for us. Salvation requires that we accept JC as our Saviour. But of course, that doesn't mean we don't keep trying to be more Christ-like. Best. x

I'm 27 and still not out to my parents. I've been in school the last 6 years, so I live at home still. I suffer from depression and anxiety over having had to live in the closet for so long. I'm really lonely, I don't know how to cope living with my parents who have issues of their own. It's tough to find a job/income due to my anxiety/depression. I just feel trapped and like I'll never be free. I'm such a better version of myself when I'm away from home. I don't know what i did to deserve this.

I like that she does not say "it gets better;" she merely says that "we need you" and that you are loved. That is far more moving and convincing than the ones that say that you will be more successful or richer or more creative or otherwise better than those tormenting you, which may not be true. The emphasis should be on each individual person's worth as they are, that they are loved as they are, not as they might be relative to other people in the future.

Fuck you. I have read the Bible. I own Three copies of the Bible and I can pin point where all three of them are right at this very second. I have been to church. I have been baptized. You do not have any idea the pain I have been through and how long I stayed on my knees in church praying to God to save me. It never.fucking.happend. Then when I was 17, I found my new religion and that suffering went away and I found the spirituality I was looking for.
