  • I watched this movie with my lil' brother yesterday.

    Me: I LOVE IT! :D

    Bro: WTF is this??? O___o

  • I prefer the black and white version over the colored version. My all time favourite movie EVER!

  • @goodtimesontoob I won't even watch the color version. For me it's black-and-white all the way.

  • This is one of the greatest movies of all time.

  • I find it interesting how the opening music is different the soundtrack's version.

  • This is genius.

  • @me Apparently cant spell either. *wait

  • Got this on my Netflix que. It's been years since I've seen it. Can't edit!!

  • Did he just say, "Ah! Feet!" at 0:35? Looks like he has a foot fettish!

  • ahhhhh this song never gets old i loves muh oingo boingos :D

  • It seems weird, but all the best Oingo Boingo tracks serve as theme songs for movies: this, "Weird Science," "Bachelor Party..."

(Oh, and "Dead Man's Party" counts since they performed it in "Back to School")

  • Epic... 1 off, love this flick¬

  • I think its a brilliant example of jewish-american comedy;if you disagree then kiss my tuchas

  • I first saw this when I was about 15, I had kind of a thing for Danny Elfman. I was pretty confused, but I fucking loved it. haha

  • Oh my! My mind 'll ne'er be the same, alas! I ws just about to ask aafter the band, when I saw the Oingo Boingo credit.

  • Oh my! My mind... My beautiful mind... 'll ne'er be the same, alas!

  • ...what...the...hell. I'm going to watch this with my boyfriend next week and uh....rating?

  • at 2:05 their is a naked lady

  • This movie has proved an accurate litmus test for finding friends with my favorite brand of weird.

  • Really cool animation!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA! Muhfuggin bix nood.

  • What the fuck?

  • I tried to watch that movie, the music was good, but the plot failed me, but I watched the part with Danny Elfman, he was pretty good as satan.

  • hehehe this is what the Dilbert theme is based off of!

  • Officially one of the most fucked-up in a good way movies ever nade.

  • @NinjaGhostScorpion I mean made.

  • agreed......

  • Its the Dilbert theme. so cool. I love it when composers dig into their old or obscure stuff

  • This movie rocks. I have the anniversary edition in glorious colour, well worth the 30 bucks if you're into this stuff.

Sex crazed royalty, a cage containing horny mutants in fez's, a frog butler, two bald guys in their underwear making strange noises in place of talking as a fat guy lipsyncs, and Danny Elfman singing a rendition of "Minnie the Moocher" involving a nerd who thinks he's a chicken and a topless princess the devil has the hots for.

How can you go wrong? :D

  • I might need to check out this movie...

  • _____THIS is the movie that inspired the SUPER MARIO BROTHERS game series. Before people start screaming denials, hear a dude out... So we've got this BASEMENT PIPE-LIKE PORTAL to another world. Now this other world is run by a king and a PRINCESS, a world populated with ANIMALS and STRANGE BEINGS. Then, the PRINCESS gets kidnapped by a DUDE with HORNS AND A GOATEE-BEARD. If this isn't sounding familiar by now, then go play Super Mario again, then watch this movie.

  • I just uploaded The whole Forbidden Zone soundtrack from beginning to end! It's all on my channel looshkin66......please check it!

  • I have to say I don't care for the blackface in this movie :(, but I understand that this is intending to prove a point, and this movie rocks regardless. Love Danny Elfman as Satan :)

  • I admit this is one of my favorite films/musicals of all time mostly because it's so messed up and funny...

now I have a hard time explaining the movie to my girlfriend and I doubt she'd want to see it because the princess never wears a shirt throught the entire movie.

  • 6 stars, 1 for each dimension

  • Comment removed

  • Watch the whole film before you criticize. I've got a link if you're interested. Drugs are recommended but you'll have to supply those yourself.

  • Can you give me the link please? <:

  • hey bud, gimme the link! .D

  • but to enjoy drugs are not needed. They help, but the movie stands alone. 5/5

  • fuk yer self well

  • "cry about something that was in the past"

  • lol

  • The guy in the beginning is really black, he just has white paint around his mouth and eyes.

    Frankly, I don't see how that's racist.

  • ummm... the guy in the beginning is meant to look and sound like how ppl see black people in the 30's and 40's so of course this sort of thing is racist!

and that's the type of thing that got Manga artist Osamu Tezuka in hot water back in the day.

  • Its all done for the sake of satire. If you've actually seen this movie, you'd know that.

  • yeah exactly, it was racist on purpose just to make fun of it.

In anime's case, they're just drawing black people how they look.. or the best approximation they can given that they -never see any-

  • no it isn't. You are being silly.

  • i guess not

  • I wish my local library had this movie.

  • i know a place where u can download it.

  • If its legal, could you tell me? Thanks.

  • uh well...lol

  • My friends and I watched this movie a few years ago...I just remember weirdness abounds in massive quantities...and that it was hilarious.

  • next time I need percocet for pain...i'm gonna take one while watching this film

  • wow what a treat! I've never seen the opening to this!

  • This movie is so fucking awesome. Anyone who denounces it needs a good kick in the face.

  • Now wait just a damn minute. I was 95% certain that I hallucinated ever watching this movie, that it was all just a figment of my chemically-enhanced imagination and that this never actually existed in real life. Are you telling me that YouTube now has the technology to download scenes directly from my brain? Because that's a more likely explanation than this movie being real.

  • Saying all jews are the same way is stupid. It's like saying all palestenians are terrorists, all americans are fat and all french people smell bad.

And if you're going to ramble about how you hate jews at least pick a better foundation for it than just some old movie that looks a little creepy.

  • Sayng all americans are fat is unpatriotic you fucking faggot.

  • I wasn't saying alla mericans are fat, I was saying that saying all jews are the same way is as stupid as saying alla mericans are fat.

Also, I'm not from america, therefore I have no reason to be patriotic if I don't feel like it.

But way to make yourself seem REALLY intelligent by insulting me even though I really wasn't saying anything against you.

  • You must be Jewish...

  • Yeah, I am. That has nothing to do with anything though. I don't assume all arabs are terrorists, or that all americans are fat, or that all swedish people are blonde with blue eyes etc. I don't see why he should make such awful assumptions about jews then.

  • I understand that the director of this movie was accused of being an anti-Semite because of the "anti-Semitic" depictions in this movie. I fail to see how Richard Elfman could be an anti-Semite, because apparently he's part-Jewish.

Though, honestly, whatever racist depictions were in this movie only made this movie much more funny. People need to lighten up and stop complaining.

  • I never saw the movie, I wouldn't know anything about any anti-semite content. My complaining was directed at "CharlesAndPatricia" who made racist comments against jews in the comments.

  • It's okay. I just felt like carrying on the conversation.

You've not seen this movie? You really should.

  • so was hitler..XD

  • I think the racism is the best thing about it, other than the great music.

  • it was so blatantly racist it was hilarious! I mean, I've seen some outrageous stuff but this took the cake and left me laughing!

  • Yeah, this was racist in a totally understandable way. Reminds me of growing up in LA.

  • Stop arguing with people on You Tube, what's wrong with you? It's like holding conversations with bathroom graffiti.

  • You do realzie that by saying that you're arguing with someone on Youtube, right?

  • I said nothing that could be considered part of an argume......HEY QUIT IT!

  • @lustfrog informative for a future audience?

  • @lustfrog

You, my friend, hit the nail on the proverbial head.

  • @lustfrog

    well said, friend

  • @lustfrog Havent you ever done that? Its fun!

  • @lustfrog You'd be surprised how amusing those can become once you've had enough drinks.

  • @lustfrog Hey that "Call me for a good time" number was fucking asking for it.

  • CharlesAndPatricia, you are so misguided in holding such beliefs about jewish people...

  • this is the freakiest movie ive ever seen

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Sadly I don't know the Dilbert Show, but in the film "The Forbidden Zone" this song is simply called "Forbidden Zone".

  • saw this whan it came out and have been looking for it ever since. Elfman so long before even Beetle juice

  • You can watch "Forbidden Zone" online for free at watch-movies-links(.)net. It really is an amazingly bizarre film.

  • Considering that Danny Elfman composed both, I'd like to see the proceedings of that trial.

  • The Dilbert intro IS the theme from "Forbidden Zone", not "just like".

  • The intro to Dilbert is a remix by elfman of his original score from the forbidden zone, he dubs it the "The Dilbert Zone".

  • can you only buy this movie off the internet?

  • Oh my god! It's the Dilbert theme song!

  • @yaragorm no the dilbert zone

  • @yaragorm I KNEW I RECOGNIZED IT FROM SOMEWHERE!

  • nice film

  • I just bought this movie for my husband for his birthday- I found a copy through circut city online. Had to pay for shipping but it was worth it! He's a big Danny Elfman fan..

  • Damn this movie was great. It sucks I can't find it anywhere. I only get to watch it if it's on tv =(

  • Richard Elfman sold it to me at Comic Con :D

    IN COLOR!

  • OoO You lucky bastard!! Did you get it signed???

  • Please post it!!

  • Great movie. If you're a John Waters fan, you'll love Forbidden Zone too.

Snogmyarse, you can get it pretty cheap on Ebay.

  • Master1119:I Found The Movie Soundtrack By Searching A Torrent Of The Soundtrack,I Used Torrent Finder Or Something Like That, And Searched Forbidden Zone.

    Hope It Helps :)

  • good times... good times....

  • I have this freaking song stuck in my head and I can't find the cd anywhere!

  • This title song is my favorite one of the movie!A musical snapshot of the post-punk,L.A sound.Barteks surfy,reverb-heavy guitar mirrors the sound of lesser known west coast punk acts, like Agent Orange and JFA,two of the first bands to combine mid-60's surf guitar with a punk aesthetic.IMO,anyway.Not a critique, love it all!!

  • UGH GOD I LOVE OINGO BOINGO. Fuck me I do.

This is maybe Herve Villechaise's greatest role. Certainly more fulfilling than Tatoo from Fantasy Island.

  • i was a big elfman fan in college, so i rent this from Blockbuster. i must have seen this movie 5x's that nite. the soundtrack kicks ass!

  • "The Queen promised to ream us with a twenty inch cattle prod and I'm still waiting!"

  • this song is was the opening to Dilbert tv show, I just remember that now

  • This is seriously one of the most insane films I've ever seen. It's vulgar, sporadic, broken, non-sensical, and absolutely absurd.

And damn it, I loved every single second of it. Definitely one of the best.

  • fuck you.

  • Yup. But also, I have to pimp out the fuckin' awesome DVD. Just got it ordered from Amazon. It look's totally awesome, for us old school Boingoid's and Elfman lovers. A must have of fucked up, joyfully goofy, cult film goodness ...

  • Nudity in the credits. Oh baby!

  • i like black comedies

  • ha ha, you're an idiot for being so ignorant.

  • Excellent song. I remember watching this and going "wtf, Dilbert theme song?" .. because I'm young @_@

  • I wanted to be Huckleberry Jones for Halloween, but I like my legs unbroken.

  • HA HA! So true. I showed this movie to a black friend of mine and he was hosently disturbed by the opening.

  • You may want to point out to him that some of the guys in 'black face' are african-american!

  • does anyone know where i can watch the whole thing?

  • One of the funniest scenes in the movie:

1: She is French like me and a direct descent of God.

2: Direct descend of God nothing, you just want to slip her the pork.

Haven't seen the movie in months but I remenber that and the school scenes very clearly. Oh, yea and then there was the Jewish wrestler/moneylender, freakin great movie.

  • It's "sixth dimension"...and no, the movie doesn't suck.

  • why isn't squeezit the moocher found anywhere?

  • it's on the soundtrack

  • frenchy's hot

  • I LOVE this song...and I hate how on iTunes you have to buy the entire album to get all the songs. I can't find the cd in stores anywhere.. :(

and this movie is great haha

  • idnt dannu elfman like 70?

  • actually he turned 54 this year. and he's still got it. :P

  • you should be shot for saying such an insult.

  • and you for being such a racist

  • frankly danny elfman was never able to top his work on the forbidden zone. Maybe that is why he never stars in anymore films.

  • this movie was a masterpiece!

  • This movie can be purchased at oingoboingodotcom or richardelfmandotcom ;)

    enjoy!

  • I have tried to find this movie so many places and obviously I can't find it anywhere. I'll have to order it from somewhere...But all of the clips are amazing in their own shitty way. The opening song is addicting...

  • The movie sucks in so many ways but I love the theme. The "living in the sixth dimension" gets stuck in my head all the time. But yeah, the movie was a completely failed attempt at surrealism. Oh well.

  • this movie was fantastic, a cult classic. this movie > you.

  • How do you figure?

  • DANNY ELFMAN LOVES ME!!!

  • i love the music but the movie is buried

  • sounds like the opening to the "dilbert" cartoon.

  • That's because Danny Elfman wrote the music for Forbidden Zone. He also wrote the Dilbert Theme, it's the exact same song.

  • i know

  • Danny Elfman reused this song for the Dilbert cartoon=)

  • I just said I know.

  • Oops, sorry. I wasn't paying attention to what wa written.

  • Ah, this is brilliant!! I missed this so BADLY.

Would there be any possible way for you to upload the Minnie the Moocher/ Elfman Satan scene? =)

  • Yeah I could do that

  • OMG! i love this! best movie ever
