This is MicroHouse because it's what it used to be called when this came out. Now it would be interpreted as minimal tech, or "funky minimal tech house" if you want to call it that. But definitely not "electro".

A lot of people consider this song the definition of microhouse. And what do you mean by hybrid of electro and minimal? Electro could refer to anything from the mid 80's till present. Microhouse is actually a combination of glitch, house and minimal techno.

People describe it as minimal techno with a heavy house vibe. This is exactly that. This is microhouse. Get a clue.

It's totally not dead. Not here at least. It' very mainstream in the clubs in San Francisco. We have monthly parties that last util 8am playing this kind of music, and yes.. at a club, not a rave ;)
