I don't know, I think their dancing just complements each other. They each have their moments but for the most part, once one gets better the other improves. All in all, they're both on the same level with slightly different styles, no need to compare.
Jboogie sent me this msg to my inbox... He throws a comment at the twins, respect? ----> see you like dick riding on the twins!!! Thats good .... Alot of what you see is years ago but no matter I would love for to see you on the floor ... people like you make this game fucked up cant just be kool always got to down somebody else ... well like I said ill be at K.O.D was gonna jugde but I want to get down so please show your wack ass up and get on the floor .. I hope to see you at a jam punk !!!!!
The chemistry Larry and Laurent have is crazy, even if they were just random strangers that so happen to meet, they would make the PERFECT team. #TeamLesTwins
@sakin81 yo i dont know who you are and I dont care bring your ass to the floor and ill smoke you!! alot of people can sit back and talk shit but you know what bring your ass ill be at kod show up bitch !!! from the black dude that cant dance !!!
Totally agree, sometimes lau kills it and sometimes Larry does. Larrys freestyle at vlado blew me away , it was out of this world!! lau wasn't as good on that occasion.... was as though he wasn't feeling the music enough. One of My fav lau freestyles was when he battled Larry at juste debout Japan and sdk jerk . Love them both but really started to appreciate and love larrys style more and more .
@Mowglieboy69 um....yea laurent might be able to do it larry's things....but no where near as smooth...the swag larry has a different motion in this body that collectively keeps his power moves alot more swift then any dancer you can find..
As a freelance journalist, I remember a press conference with Jordan where he talked about how he showed ppl what he wanted them to see but in no means meant he had showed them everything he was capable of because he was a part of a team. Everybody had their roles to play. Epic comment by MJ because I think the twins are playing their roles. I disagree that Larry can't do everything that Lau does. Their styles are different, yes, but their talent is not.
Anyone managing them would be foolish to have them dance exactly alike. Anyone of us could watch a video and instantly identify a specific move as "that's Lau's death drop or that's Larry's spacelike foot slide". Does that mean that Larry can't death drop (which we've seen him do) or that Lau has no footwork skills? Absolutely not.
Aah, I love this dialogue!! LOL. @mowglie and others. I agree that they both have very distinct styles, but that's only what they show us. In practice and behind closed doors with their coach Playmo, there is no such thing as "Larry can't do that or Lau can't do this". I think what we are witnessing is strategic styling and image. Afterall, they are twins. Anyone managing them would be foolish to have them dance exactly alike.
@Mowglieboy69 When you watch these two "giants" perform at battles, workshops, appearances, can you really say that Lau is the most talented brother? I think they are equally gifted and strong. Both have had EPIC performances -- this one, by the way, is one of my most favorite Lau performance, but Larry's Vlado performance is equally EPIC.
@TheGreatTruth9 Not sure if people agree with this. But the way I see it, Larry is more detailed, more technical and dances to portray some attitude, while Laurent is more emotional, fluid and dances more to express himself. This also seems to make Larry more consistent, while Laurent varies more according to as he is feeling. Like left and right brain, combined they are almighty. Also, twins raised together are less alike in some ways than those raised apart. Maybe a clue? That they chose this?
@CPLains I agree with most of this. Larry is more consistent (as you'd expect given his more confined style), but Laurent's highs are in the stratosphere. He can do things Larry could never do, whereas Laurent can do most of the stuff Larry does, just not in the same manner, or quite as good. Laurent's best freestyles easily eclipse Larry's, in my opinion.
@Mowglieboy69 I'd actually argue that it's the opposite. Laurent kills it more consistently, a lot more than Larry, but when Larry kills it, he MURDERS it. I don't think Laurent's highs can match Larry's highs (though they're more rare).
@RaileighMookie I"m actually in complete agreement with Mowglieboy69. Laurent is not consistent at all while Larry is very consistent. Usually Larry dances at a high level the whole time - think Juste Debout Japan and his performance in France. Laurent on the other hand seems to be inspired by something different than Larry. I think in one of his interviews that he can only be moved by the music - I don't think he's one to force his 'dance muse.' That could be by choice or ability.
@TheGreatTruth9 Favourite Laurent performance was the freestyle he did on the boardwalk that was captured by a random observer. Larry could never do anything like that. As for their abilities in battles and the like, I agree that Larry is generally more consistent on the whole, but not as consistently awe-inspiring when both are at their best.
