Africa would have contributed much more to Christianity had it not been for the islamic invasions from the 7th century that almost wiped out Christianity on that continent.

Lets not Obamaise the Throne of Saint Peter into some sort of tacky affirmative action position, like the Presidency of the United States. Saying that, the African bishops seem to be a lot more orthodox than many of the apostate post-Catholics we have in Europe at the moment. Maybe it would be a good thing!
