Although most people seem not to know, the Stylistics weren't so much a group but one singer, Russell Thompkins, and a varying assortment of studio singers that the producers would use.

Besides a few verses that Airron Love did, none of the other guys in the group song on any of their hits. That's why it's ridiculous to have a group called "The Stylistics" with no Russell Thompkins. Thompkins IS the Stylistics. These guys should thank Thompkins that they've had a job all these years.

Eban is really a step up for the Stylistics.

They made the absolute right choicein bringing him on board.

i personally know eban brown and know that he is not trying to be Russell but to show his talent and entertain us, singing is his passion and he deos have his own CD's out that he wrote and produced himself....I agree with mztee53 Eban brings the Stylistics back to life everytime i see them in concert.....

Why can't you except the fact that he is not Russell and perhaps doesn't want and certainly doesn't need to be. He brings a sexuality to the group that Russell can only hope for.

He's a great singer, Eban Brown, yet he does not have the range of Russell Thomkins i.e. the vocal variety, the runs. All need to hook back up with Russell Thomkins, when you have seen both groups in person you know that Russell is #1. Take it from a singer !
