@Rippy888 It's called an experiment. The current season takes place (as stated in the show itself) on over 20 acres of a post-Katrina abandoned parish. I feel safer in my own knowledge and abilities from watching/learning from this show. And if you "don't get it" you probably wont have to worry about it cause you would be one of the people that wouldn't survive a global catastrophic event. So continue watching your gossip girl or the hills or whatever show keeps you entertained.

Now before you jump on my case, Im just stating what could (would) happen if this was real. When the system breaks down, it doesn't take long for man to revert to savagery. Even today the sex trade is keep in check by the law, remove the law, and it will be common place.
First I'd like to say, I don't have much against this show, I watched all the episodes religiously every week, and I did learn a lot from it. The final episode however I found a little staged...the whole escape part was good, but the whole final battle was obviously staged. I mean, they had high-speed footage of the truck exploding, they had to have set up that camera there knowing that would happen. Also the whole "I'm a loner and need to save this city" was just stupid
I was so dissapionted in the finale. First finding out that joey is an actor or potencialy retarted.. I mean common: rebiuld the city.. if there are survivors i'm one of the people to help them.. this is my city.. What survivors? all other peole are actors(if not all) rebiuld what? an abandomed set of werehouses? Also when they destroyed that car with flametrower.. the car was put there on purpose. It was my favorite show and now... i feel so.. betrayed.

Well it is very strange that in the last episode when at night they get attackt by marauders in the dark, they fight for a bit, move back to the truck, they immediatly get in and drive away, and suddenly it is light, and there are no more marauders....

It was okay, the ending could have been better, but it was okay. the whole thing about calling it an experament was not true it was acted out, they are good acters tough, it looked real. i like it.
Mike ran into a palette and then a cameraman helped him from the bloody mess (I'm pretty sure cameramen aren't supposed to walk into the scene like that).

Yes it was, remember when they mad the generator. When they put the belt pullys on and th belt, the big pully was on the engine, it was driving the small pully on the generator, when a big wheel turns a small pully the small on spins faster because it has less of a surface area to cover so it goes around many times to keep up with the big on, its called over drive. , let me send another comment im running out of room.
now that i have more room, my point of my last comment wich you need to read first is that they said the pully was to big to spin the alternator fast enough, so they put a smaller pully on the engine spinning the alternattr, and they were happy because it spun fast enough, but the alternator is actually spinnging slower now, if it were real they would have gotten better voltage out of the first set up, but they get more voltage out of the slower setup, thus being acted out.
The show got alot of criticism and haters... Which honestly i dont understand. The people running the experiment took him out. They toook him out when some of the colony went to the hospital to get supplies. The doctor was left alone in the boiler room, and disapeared.

This show is a reality TV show, and they are based in a warehouse. But I don't want to say studio, because the cameramen stay with them for the ten weeks as well (in the Video where Mike crashes, a dirty Cameraman helps him out of the vehicle, not a colonist).
In addition, John Cohn (the Computer Engineer) stated he did not expect his wife to come on the show. Oh, and the show was recorded over the summer, because John Cohn wrote he was able to watch the show with his family at home.

At first I was excited....then as a survivalist myself, this show was a complete let down.
They couldn't have given the survivors more food and made it more easier for them.
There was little-to-no hunting, which is one of the most important aspects of survival. They gave them 90% of everything they ate.
The producers were more interested in seeing them build useless junk instead of focusing on what it takes to really survive.
This is the last season I'll be watching.

Honestly, if they wanted to make it realistic... They should have traded some of the worthless women to the Mexicans for some crates of can food. Keep one or two to poke on for moral... The rest are just extra mouths to feed.
Now before you jump on my case, Im just stating what could (would) happen if this was real. When the system breaks down, it doesn't take long for man to revert to savagery. Even today the sex trade is keep in check by the law, remove the law, and it will be common place.

First I'd like to say, I don't have much against this show, I watched all the episodes religiously every week, and I did learn a lot from it. The final episode however I found a little staged...the whole escape part was good, but the whole final battle was obviously staged. I mean, they had high-speed footage of the truck exploding, they had to have set up that camera there knowing that would happen. Also the whole "I'm a loner and need to save this city" was just stupid

I was so dissapionted in the finale. First finding out that joey is an actor or potencialy retarted.. I mean common: rebiuld the city.. if there are survivors i'm one of the people to help them.. this is my city.. What survivors? all other peole are actors(if not all) rebiuld what? an abandomed set of werehouses? Also when they destroyed that car with flametrower.. the car was put there on purpose. It was my favorite show and now... i feel so.. betrayed.

well ur wrong a large weel driving a small well makes it move faster making more voltage if it were the other way around u would be right for example look at a bike the larger the gear drive on the front and the smaller on the back makes u move faster

why the fuck people are saying everything they do is fake? this is about a post apocalyptic world its a simulation! of course the Raiders Nomads and the mexican traders are there to test there survival instinct. they are inform not to hurt the colony but the people there dont know that! so that makes it have more feeling. i hate how people criticize this show on how its fake. Well it is very strange that in the last episode when at night they get attackt by marauders in the dark, they fight for a bit, move back to the truck, they immediatly get in and drive away, and suddenly it is light, and there are no more marauders....

Food 1st, Shelther 2nd, Security 3rd, and Hygiene 4th: These are basics.
Volka should have been used for medical purposes (Learn from Jason Bourne)
Start building an escape plan early, and always ration water and food (Not to be taken for granted)
Weapons should have been modeled as Shield and Pointed Pole.(Defend and Attack)
Section movement on the outside should be in formation of a wedge.

@peanutbutterdawg i dont think it is completely fake, however lots of it is. for example the part where the "raiders" get in and the colonist dont close the gate immediately waiting for the camera man... thats fake. the whole final part was fake. it was night time when they were attacked suddenly [ Joey: lets go!! ] they leave the warehouse with the truck and suddenly in 45 seconds its daylight again???
lots of it i believe is real as well.

@peanutbutterdawg i have to admit this original season seemed kind of scripted. Some of the things that went down were almost too... well thought out and plotted. This new season tho certainly looks better. They get attacked multiple times and the colonists have no idea when they come

fake or not, these people are sitting ducks if this was a real case scenario. Those guys who came at night could obviously do more damage if their intent was to hurt the colony. Probably rape every one of those women and kill the guys easily. Plus. if your trying to intrude, realistically it would be like a thief in the night not ride their bikes and show them, "Hey im here!'

It was okay, the ending could have been better, but it was okay. the whole thing about calling it an experament was not true it was acted out, they are good acters tough, it looked real. i like it.

Mike ran into a palette and then a cameraman helped him from the bloody mess (I'm pretty sure cameramen aren't supposed to walk into the scene like that).
The Marauder got electrocuted. I don't know about you but either that's realllllllllllll good effects and reallllllll good acting or it was just real.

Yes it was, remember when they mad the generator. When they put the belt pullys on and th belt, the big pully was on the engine, it was driving the small pully on the generator, when a big wheel turns a small pully the small on spins faster because it has less of a surface area to cover so it goes around many times to keep up with the big on, its called over drive. , let me send another comment im running out of room.

now that i have more room, my point of my last comment wich you need to read first is that they said the pully was to big to spin the alternator fast enough, so they put a smaller pully on the engine spinning the alternattr, and they were happy because it spun fast enough, but the alternator is actually spinnging slower now, if it were real they would have gotten better voltage out of the first set up, but they get more voltage out of the slower setup, thus being acted out.

The people running the experiment took him out. They toook him out when some of the colony went to the hospital to get supplies. The doctor was left alone in the boiler room, and disapeared.

this show took years of planning, and it wasn't meant as a show but as a expirement to see how humans would react, and it even cost a lot of money, but the people in the show are real, but there are hidden camera's that the colonist don't know about, and the blond dumbass nurse dresses up all the time just for the camera

This show is a reality TV show, and they are based in a warehouse. But I don't want to say studio, because the cameramen stay with them for the ten weeks as well (in the Video where Mike crashes, a dirty Cameraman helps him out of the vehicle, not a colonist).
In addition, John Cohn (the Computer Engineer) stated he did not expect his wife to come on the show. Oh, and the show was recorded over the summer, because John Cohn wrote he was able to watch the show with his family at home.

Sorry to break the news to those cheering on the colonists and thier freedom drive, but I was one of the Marauders in the finale and we set up spikes strips to flatten the tires on the truck because production crew said to.
You will see the best horrified faces on them when they bail the busted truck and run and scatter like roaches. So much for unity.
