i know that's right.. i could play EVERY Fats Waller song known to man, but be a young 19 year old and just be able to sing and play a few guitar chords and be much more famous.. shame shame shame
I hope you can make a good career out of music. It's a shame that some of the most talented in music really don't make that much money. Some make millions. Anyone that can hook into mass appeal with some good promotional help might make a good go of it. To me the Beatles should never have been Gazillionaires, but that's society (it was a kind of rebellious time). If you took Paul McCartney's pianist skills compared to even Stephanie...Stephanie should be the Gazillionaire... but that's life.
@robertslistening McCartney also has vocal, bass, guitar, ukalalie skills thrown into the mix. Plus, he wrote his songs. All that plus the creative process put them on the map.
As I watch all these amazing performances, it's clear that it takes more then just piano skills when everyone is so awesomely good at tickling the ivories.
Now on that note, I'd sell my soul to beable to play as well as Stephanie!! She's amazing!
Love what you said about this unique slice of popular original American-made music from the 1920's and 30's during The Depression. its the first kind of music that evoked the phenomena we now call jazz, and is of a kind that makes people happy and gets them through the tough times. You did just that for me today, listening to that sweet tune - thanks!
What can I say after all the great things everyone else is saying about your talent. I will say that you could be called "The Basket Weaver of Classical Jazz." meaning that you are helping to keep this great art alive by continuing to perform it.
You'll never know how envious those of us who can't play the music we love, are of those of you who do it with such enjoyment.
Excellent...Excellent. Keep up the good work. One of these days I think America will rediscover this music. It is wonderful and you are wonderful. Thanks and Best Regards
I am mesmerized by the speed and accuracy of your hands and fingers, especially the left hand. I am in awe of your talent and love the fact that YOU love to perform.
[ I shudder to think how good you will be when you get grade 2!! : ]
