Its cool you cats appreciate this. Its hardcore soul and some of your generation think its a little too deep (or in other words too corny). I listened to hardcore rap AND this stuff when I was 21. Still feel like I'm hip today but what I'm saying is this is quality musical performance.... R&B at its very best. Its more about presentation and quantity today. There are still SOME artists who make MEANINGFUL music...but the problem is they aren't getting the airplay...it's sad....ppl like Rahsaan Patterson, Raheem DeVaughn, India Irie, Chrissette Michelle, Conya Doss, Ledisi...etc...THEY make SOUL music....they're just not getting played.

So true, Raheem's second album was a killer but no airplay he did a duet with Floetry that' will knock your socks off, what everyone use to do was buy your album listen to the entire production, then mark off your favorites, then tell your friends, but today you just download one song and that's it. Yep,bcuz the Entertainment industry wants only sexually provocative/explicit music so our kids can have sex and kids at a young age. No more real love songs noooo. Don't forget a killer song by Lakeside called Vison. These bands/aritist can't make any slow drag music, that's what killed Soul Train bullshit ass music that no one was dancing too. Back in the real Soul Train day, you danced, interviewed and then the group played another song, and then everyone came out for the Saturday.
The producers of the show had to start showing the Best of Soul Train, did you notice the artists????

Its cool you cats appreciate this. Its hardcore soul and some of your generation think its a little too deep (or in other words too corny). I listened to hardcore rap AND this stuff when I was 21. Still feel like I'm hip today but what I'm saying is this is quality musical performance.... R&B at its very best. Its more about presentation and quantity today. Autotune has sapped the meaning out of vocal performances nowadays and people just want to sell records with pretty faces and shock lyrics.
