  • a bike for engine frame????

  • the next bat mobile

  • You guys realize its running on its own power, right? He used the blower to get it started. There are hundreds upon hundreds of videos like this on YouTube and they all use blowers to start them.

  • awesome

  • does that exhast pipe get hot?.. might wanna wear some oven mits on your calfs

  • What the fuck is the point!!

  • @Klause5425 does it have to have a point? i don't think so but rather having fun and learning.

  • @greatwhitenorth112 actually... a good responce to my comment.

  • grats at blowing alot of air threw a fan blade and making it spin! YAY! stupid candians

  • nice! but where will you put your feets?

  • Which russian tank?

  • can u rest ur feet on the exhaust? Thats alot of work just to make a YT video.

  • Yup nothing about this is logical .. even if you did ride it the side ways thrust would fuck you up.. also...its a waste of a turbine.

  • wow this is y2k ?

  • it dont move.thats not very impressave.

  • ,,,,,,,,,,,,, its pointing sidways, its not going to move you! i would put a pipe on it to angle the thrust back so you can rid it!!! that would be sweet!

  • Stupidest thing I've seen today.

  • To Runbag. That is fantastic you did well my friend, all the best in the future with your experiments, its people like you that invented the wheel.

  • That is fantastic you did well my friend, all the best in the future with your experiments, its people like you that invented the wheel.

    dieter13

  • Now you just need a 2nd turbine on the rear axle that receives your output and make some driving power

  • @327yellow I love your idea, that would be great. You could put a butterfly valve and check valve before the exhaust reaches the rear turbo to "regulate" speed.

  • ok

wow yeah!!! woo!!! tweakin just a lil aye

  • That Harley Hummer frame is probably worth more than the turbine engine. Yes it technically is a complete engine, with a compressor combustion camber and turbine, it did run on it's own, and I'm sure it could create a little thrust. Looks like they had a pretty good combustion chamber design too, most rigs like that have flames eating the turbine blades to a quick death. That one didn't even have a hot start. Great experiment.

  • @jlplace Finnaly someone has some positive comments. Thank you, even though its not my project. Oh yeah, and some good observation!!

  • that is probly the gayest thing ive seen all day

  • F*ck the haters ....I think its cool

  • @sleepingsentra No shit. Fuck 'em. If you don't like this type of shit, why you looking at the video?

  • @CBKillas Damn rite, I built a homemade turbo jet myself a few years back and it was fun as hell going through a large learning curve to have a succesful run. The haters dont have a clue about undertaking such a project.

  • @jetkrazee They can't even begin to understand the mechanics of such a project, let alone dive into research.

  • This is pointless, that's why it's so cool. I was flabbergasted when I recognised a turbo off a car it appears, or truck. That's damn clever and took some ingenuity to accomplish. I never did "get" jet engines, gimme pistons and I do just fine.

  • Finish it and ride it!!!!

  • wouldnt his leg burn being next to it!!

  • Great job guys, you got torque, now connect a shaft and drive it. You don't think about using the air flow do you? It would be such a waste...

  • yo this looks the shit, but like the others i wanna see it move. weld more pipe to deflect it backwards and rock and roll!

ps to all you haters do some research on turbine engines made from turbos.

  • am noob and i can still see that this is pointless...

  • Oversized hair dryer on a bike that didnt move .

  • Yeah, interesting, but let's see the bike MOVE. lol

  • lol it'll toast your leg while your out riding it scary buddy

  • the turbo engine is great but please when you fucking kill yourself with that fucking assbacksidewards design please assign someone to post the film so all can see your fuckup

  • hmm home built jet turbine......from a tank? slightly ass backwards there

  • seriously ride it already.. it looks like it could be a blast...

  • Another exercise in futility. I never saw the bike move, a barstool would have done as well. Tell rube goldberg to try again...

  • Sorry, TFM, but we have to disagree on this one; Jet / turbofan engines still do not come anywhere near the overall efficiency of a piston engine.

Pumping losses are vastly higher with any turbine, and the thermal losses from the exhaust gases are also significantly higher.

The only thing a jet turbine has going for it is its relatively light weight and compactness, plus of course the turbine shaft can be used to provide mechanical power as well as the jet thrust istelf.

  • What the hell is the point of this? What's next, skates?

  • interesting concept!

  • only 1 thing where the hell do ur legs go.

  • holy shit

  • how many miles per gallon..? ;)

  • Don't you mean how many gallons to the mile?

  • no, no i did not. heh.

  • just...wow

  • perfect biker

  • whoaa tweakers

  • That Crazy Motherfucker got big ball to ride that thing . What a waste of time.

  • do a skid

  • This is pointless

  • Please explain why..

  • Mahaney, you need to get a clue how turbine engine works.

And as mentioned earlier, this was just done to see if we were capable to build a functional turbine engine. We did it, right?

  • an turbine engine produces thrust, that thrust in turn pushes the vehicle ... this is nothing more than a movie prop at best

  • actually, in between the compressor manifold and turbine flange, exists what us north americans call a combustor. fuel is added to the spoolin compressor, and an ignition source initiates combustion. expanding gasses are extracted by turbine wheel to turn compressor and produce reactive thrust. do some research u dumbass. the whole purpose of a turbine engine, is to proove how inneficient reciprocating engines really are. the whole idea is to not use a pistion banger.

  • mahaney, a turbo can be converted to a jet engine..a jet engine does not need a drivetrain sill hence why its called a jet =P it moves by a jet of gas (thrust)..a turboshaft/prop has a driveshaft..the only thing worse than trolling & poking fun of someone else's hard work is doing it when you are clueless on the subject.

yo runbag, methinks its pretty cool..i saw that turbo & was like =O damn...700hp diesel prolly..but my ? that wasn't an output shaft there on the right was it?

  • @Mahaney82 The turbo IS the motor. It's a turbine engine.

  • @Mahaney82

Firstly you need to look up the basics of a gas turbine engine, before posting a comment and thinking that you're smart.... xD

  • Comment removed

  • @Mahaney82

Good man ,its a great job you did, so it don't fly so what? you proved it could be done, full marks to you.

    dieter13

  • @Mahaney82 You're fucking dumb.... hahahah.. CAn't stop laughing... Ignorant P.O.S

  • @phantomcharger You're pointless.

  • @phantomcharger so as ur comment

  • haha wow.. HEY BOIIISSS LETS RIDE!!!

  • why the fuck would you even put in on a bike if you cant ride.

  • whats does bike there

  • If someone sat on it the angle of the thrust from the exhaust would push you on your side. Hahahahah.

  • lol

    crazy and pointless

    un. ridable...usless.. bazare..

    but i love you guys....

  • get on that bitch

  • He said that the turbocharger was taken out of a tank. Enough tanks run on turbo diesel engines too.

  • I think the goal was not to power up the moped but to build a functionable turbine, which was acchieved. Congrats! Very well done :))

  • can you say sketchy?

  • So... Hop on and ride!!! Watch your leg!

  • i see it stays does it move ?

  • Comment removed

  • umm a bit of heat transfer around the private parts don't ya think. How the hell do ya drive this thing

  • Not to mention that seat looks like a ball pincher.

  • Like I said, its a turbine out of a tank, it dose not produce thrust but produces torque.

If any one pays any attention, it looks as if the fuel tank has yet to be hooked up, as well as have a pad on the seat. Its not a new idea, but its still a cool idea.

  • now ride it..

  • What could possibly go wrong?

  • how much thrust do you get

  • This video sucks asssssss

I like the part where the incredibly powerful redneck-installed turbo did absolutely nothing.

  • me and my dad want to make a gas turbine out of a turbo as well, got any reccomnedations for turbos to use? that are easy to find preferably not one that big

  • who ever gave this person a thumbs down isnt very nice... i have advice for you... if your looking for a cheap turbo to start getting into this stuff... go to a pick and pull or a junk yard and try and find a small random turbo cus you can typically pick one up for $50 if its off a car that isnt very popular or powerful

  • Where can I get on of those turbos??????

  • and do you guys have that on wrong? it looks as the fire and power will be coming out of the side of the bike causeing you to flip and roll the bike out of control nice.

  • Its a turbine out of a tank, it dose not produce thrust but produces torque. There is very little thrust causing the bike to roll at all.

  • umm... considering their design is not a turbo prop... it is creating thrust and not torque... and ammw77 is right... or the bike will move forward cockeyed and be hard as heck to control.

  • Its a turbine much like that in a tank. A Turbo prop is a jet engine with a prop attached to the main shaft in the engine. Were as this is a turbine, it works much the same as a jet engine, but with lest thrust and more tuque.

  • i know what turbo props are and turbine engines are... but why are you hell bent on this producing torque and less thrust just because its a turbo off a tank? If the torque or thrust w/e it may be is directed out the side of the bike and not out back in the correct direction... the bike isnt going anywhere fast. And turbine engines can be converted into turbo props... which in this case would direct the power in the correct direction... had they designed it correctly.

  • How much thrust does it provide??????? Its cool!

  • ma che buon tempo che ha la gente!

  • Vorrei farti notare che stai guardando video su youtube, almeno loro han costruito qualcosa...

  • AAH! it's like the constant mosquito ringtone mobile

  • ok for one thing, why whould you put it on a bike sideways?

it probally wouldve been better off on a go-kart

  • Man that was just plain sh1t.

  • It's pretty obvious that so many viewers cant see that this is something we did just for fun.. It's no F1 car, it's not a rocket, it's nothing else than a huge turbo sitting in the frame of a bike, making a lot of noice.. That's it..

The bike still stands in the garage, just where we put it the last time, and maybe one day we might continue to develop our creation...

  • @runbag Hey great job! I'm quite impressed by your bike. Any thought on tryin to make it run the bike?

  • @runbag yeah a lot of people know just enough about engines to jump in and talk about how its just a turbo charger and are completely ignorant to the fact that a turbo charger is a jet engine. albeit a cheap jet engine still a jet engine.

  • this video got my pusssssyyyy wweeeettttt!!! c me on cam! h

  • OMG MY EARS!!!!!!! but cool idea just made me learn never have your sound of full blast while wearing headphones

  • nice jet, but i dont see how it helps, unless the jet is for parallel parking. try putting that on the back of a go-kart with no engine.

  • My question is... what good does having a turbine-powered piece of shit bike do you? What's wrong with a normal (and much safer) internal combustion piece of shit bike? If you're going to spend all that time and money to put together a turbine, you might as well have got a decent bike! Does it even drive? Where do your feet and legs go?

  • taking backyard jets to a new level

  • HOLY SHIT

  • Where on earth do your legs go?

  • DUDE not to be rude but have you got the balls up to ride the jet bike down the road????

  • waste of the motorcicle

  • where did you get that turbo? i need 1 (or 2) for my wrx!

  • You think you can put a turbo that big on a WRX?? that is off a tank man. But wrz's are sweet tho I love the AWD, Almost as sweet as my gti vr6 turbo :P

  • Ever take it off any sweet jumps?

  • Lmao Can I give it a try?

  • just like a ricer, all show but no go.

  • yes it works, but does it create any thrust?

  • What is the frame you got it mounted into?

  • yea cuz that would track perfectly straight and everything lol... there'd be two tire tread marks from it pushin at a 45 degree angle at 70 mph haha

  • most impressive hot dog cooker ive ever seen, now wheres the weenies

  • dont ride that thing you'll fucking cook your leg,did you see the size of that exaust pipe

  • Since the oil supply is being ran off of ac power and most of the components are not mounted to the bike; it would be hard to call this thing a turbine powered moped. More like a really amazing engine with moped wedged to it.

  • thats pretty amazing, good work

  • all show no go?

  • so does it run??

  • drive it :D

  • Call for insurance, it will make your agents' day.

  • What a HUGE waste of money, don't these people have anything better to do with their time?

  • you really don't think they spend money on this? really take a look around some places you really find some expensive trash

  • Is that a turbo pulled of a T55 or T72 or something

  • what is that? a 10 cc engine strapped to a push bike from the 60's? ride it at least you fanny? i bet you wont becuase it will blow up in 5 seconds...

  • do you really think its a 10cc engine?

  • I think its a .049

  • pussy u need to ride it

  • yeah retard

  • Yeah....thats a leg burn JUST waiting to happen.

  • nice!! tho the noise was worse than nails scratching a chalkboard

  • have fun burning ur ass

  • that would be funny, pulling this thing up to a pimply-faced 130 pound 19 year on his R1 or CBR , that's classic

  • gotaa make a jet pack

  • by definition

  • NOW RIDE IT

  • I AGREE 100% 113EMAN. Great job guys.

  • it's building stuff like that in "your back" yard that got man off his feet and into the air in the first place, atleast I found it interesting. Thanks

  • what a waste of time, a noise ornimant pretty much

  • Nice air start with the leaf blower!

  • Add some Afterburners!

  • haha, it will not be stable...

  • it will push you sideways

  • ok now lets see u ride it

  • Not worth it... Your balls wil be cooked after!

  • That thing couldnt be ridden on any way, first thing to do center the jet turbine? or else you will tip when you touch the throttle..?

  • This is very good.... Ok so what's it do?

I know, it's an expensive noisy fire place.

  • connect the chain to the turbo and see what happens

  • too cool, I hope we get to see it being ridden!

  • the bike is used as a stand, anyone would be bbqued on that bike if its ridden i think.

  • alright now. whos going to ride it?

  • how are you supposed to sit on the thing without burning your legs off?

  • Insanity! 5 stars!!

  • Go the hand drill oil pump! LOL

  • You would be able to get a little more airflow out of that compressor by adding a bellmouth shaped inlet to the design. This would deliver slightly higher pressures at the inlet.

  • I wonder If I can get the same affect by putting a leaf blower on my bike? and actually move?

  • it does not even move.

  • A bike for the chavs.

  • looks like a cross between pee wee hermans bike and somthing cheech and chong would use

  • the exhaust outlet is not inline with the rear wheels wot u trying to do? make the bike go sideways?

  • It helps the bike go round corners :-)

  • that's actually the intake.

  • Hope ur balls don't get sucked in :)

  • are u retarded? thats the hotside of the turbine...its the exhaust....the intake is on the other side where u see the compressor wheel spinning.

  • What's to stop it under going an uncontrolled burst and making you an eunuch that way?

  • wth

  • does it even moove the dam bike?

  • Yeah, but can it dry hair?

  • Totally cool, but how do you keep from cooking your left leg?

  • Oh my motherfucking god! That thing is loud! I WANT ONE!

  • so you simply have set this turbo in a bike frame to create the ilusion thats its a turbo bike? why? that unit could run on a milk crate for that matter. where do you store the leaf blower to start it lol?

  • Well, when we first decided to build this engine, we hadn't any ideas to put it in this bike. We just simply wanted to se if we were able to build a working jet engine. But in our progress, we thought it could be fun if we actually also could use it. The whole project is just a fun thing, nothing serious ;)

  • so the biek thing was simply for looks, i see. what stops the turbine from thrusting out of the frame? or does it not produce enough thrust to move?
