Very old news. What you didn't mention was the fact Amway paid every penny it owed to Canada and did not "avoid" paying anything. Tell me which successful, fast growing company hasn't been sued for something. No such thing as the "perfect" company.

Can't you post anything more recent than 20 years ago? I want to know if they are scamming now - not when I was a teenager. We all change over the years but should not be held accountable over and over after making ammends. I know I want things I di in the past to be forgiven and forgotten. Don't you, or have you never regretting anything??????
Well, lets forgive Enron and Worldcom while we are at it. Let us go buy stock in Enron because we all should forgive them and forget about what they had done.
That is not a valid comparison. This video talks about Amway not paying Canadian taxes - not about scamming thousands of people out of their life savings because they bought the stock. Amway is a private company that is growing, from what I have read. Compare apples to apples. If Amway goes under - the IBOs still have their nest eggs.
It is a valid comparison. The Canadian taxpayers, that encompasses hundreds of thousands of people, where hurt from Amway scamming the Canadian Government. You think that it is okay since it occurred 20 years ago. I dont share your view. I think a company should operate with the utmost integrity. If they compromised that position by trying to save a few million dollars by scamming a government, then shame on them.
We should agree to disagree on the valid comparison point. I do not disagree that what happened to Canada was wrong and should not have happened - ever. FYI - my husband is a Canadian citizen. However, things and people change. We should all remember that and not continue to judge the past but look to current practices. I am hard pressed to believe that, if Amway is the scam so many people claim, there are not more current things you can point to. That - and that alone was/is my point.
I think what Ubetlcare is trying to say is he'd appreciate a more RECENT situation involving this company, although we do appreciate all that is bought forth to us about this company, it wouldn't hurt to know the CURRENT standings of the company as well. My gratitude to all those that try to shed light on this company and others as well.
Personally I believe everything here. And I, as an American citizen, believe this company to be a scam. Sorry Canada got defrauded.
But maybe you can share your sources with us? It makes a better case when accusations are substantiated with the facts. That's what separates truth from propaganda, and justice from hatemongering. I'm just saying....anyone agree?
I agree with you and thank you for the suggestion. I guess I never thought to add links since this case is fairly well known and can easily be found by just googling it. I added a few links in the video description area. One of the links I added is to the time magazine article and other link is to the court document. Enjoy
(p.s. Make sure you take out the space between the 5's in the time magazine article link.)
