A man named Phineas Gage had an accident where an explosion shot a 13 pound iron rod through his cheekbone and out the top of his skull, landing 80 feet away. He survived, recovered, and was pretty much fine. Btw this was in 1848, BEFORE antiseptics were introduced into medicine.

Really what i think is, people who have played Fallout 3 a lot, such as myself won't expect much more from New Vegas. It's no doubt that it will be a game full of new experiences. Just to get fallout junkies hands on new missions and items and abilities instead of playing the same Fallout experience all the time. Games such as Fallout 3, need a sequel. And that's just what they did. It's all about the new great experience that we expect and Fallout always delivers. Way to go Bethesda/Obsidian.

@TimeBomb014X Crappy gun or aim? Small caliber shots, depending on the range and angle and placement, can have difficulty getting through the skull.

Also, sheer luck. There have been real cases of worse things happening:

- Mr. Phineas Gage got impaled from cheekbone to the top of his skull by a TNT propelled 13 pound iron rod in the mid-1800's.

- In 2006, a suicidal man in Oregon used a nail gun to shoot 12 nails into his skull (on both sides). He lived.

everything so far looks like its going to expand off fallout 3, some engine, just polished

my only issue would be the ridiculous amount of weapons, it makes things less wasteland and more james bond, but i guess for most people this would be an improvement

your charactor was shot and left to die.then a robat named victor came and found your charactor .after that victor takes you to doc mithell and thats when you get your pip boy and thats also when you get to create your charactor
