  • What I hate to see is comments like these on the page of something so beautiful.

  • what do you use to make your kaleidoscopes?

  • at first , when i bought it on vinyl , i was not so into that track.....

now i think this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music i have ever heard....

it's .....ME ...it's like i am this ....not sure if anyone will get this....

  • These songs are especially great for people with synesthesia. It makes a beautiful song even better. :B

  • I know that everyone will say that can't do it, or won't or one of these days.

No one knows who I am. I left the 'scene" about ten years ago.\

Would you ever recognize me on the street? Don't answer that!!!

  • This song typifies BoC for me..Their songs float gently in the ether between joy and sadness.

  • This reminds me of the music on the iPhone game Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. Both are excellent works of art.

  • This reminds me of Beetles by Aphex Twin

  • i'm feeling happines when i hear it

  • who makes these creepy vids.. cool

  • so painfully beautiful

  • Ha, are those weed plants in the video? It looks like some nice plants dancing around. Doing the plant dance. You know how it is.

  • YouTube need to move the dyslike button further away from the add to queue as too many people are acidently clicking the wrong one ;p

  • @Broadcast1Channel People need to stop pressing those buttons, because it will never represent anything.

  • Absolutely amazing

  • To be honest this is the least BoC sounding song they've ever made, still great though.

  • @Ctraltdefeat This IS BoC.

  • @Ctraltdefeat Hmm I kind of see why you'd think that. For me it still triggers this .. psychological element that's such a common effect on me when listening BoC though, strongly even.

  • @Ctraltdefeat have you gotten through A Few Old Tunes? i probably would be surprised too if I hadn't heard that too

  • I hope the ads dont catch up to music T_T

  • 13 (or more now) dislikes !!! i will puke your faces

  • @tsoutsoutsou Im with you, even if simple the song is brilliant. I had a few albums but not this track, shame on me!

  • @tsoutsoutsou Thanks for the awesome mental picture, I lol'd :P

  • BOC makes music that you want to learn to like even if you don't already. You listen to it over and over until it makes sense, but the tune never sticks in your mind. It only lasts as long as the song does, then it's gone. Sort of like a brief sunrise, or sunset.

  • @Endymion766 I love the way you put that

  • really nice music, like this alot, for more good electronic music you can visit my page and have a listen if you feel like it : ) have a great day.

  • As Starstorm says here, ROYGBIV is very, very hard to beat. This EP is much overlooked, but it's right up there with the best. There's a certain kind of BoC fan who will never *quite* like Geogaddi and Headphase as much as they're meant to. For refuseniks like us, however, the "Beautiful Place" EP this comes from is a perfect pairing with "Music Has The Right".

  • FUCKING AWESOME¡¡¡ I was hearing this song on i tunes then i put the video and the audios mixed up and it sounds amazing¡¡¡ I will try it with 3 audios mixed up :)

  • every song by them is a classic

  • At first I thought Roygbiv would always be my favorite... But this... This is just so gorgeous. It takes my breath away and completely puts me at ease... This is what pure peace sounds like. I feel like I can float in midair listening to this <3

  • 1 John 5:13

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

  • @hier0phant just listen to the song

  • the sound of end... end of all. is so incredible!

  • This sound is soul cleansing.

  • From what I and other BoC fans have been able to decipher, a new album is going to be released anytime between now and sometime in october.Maybe even this next month, not sure. What is known is all on my page and various sites, just search for keyword: new clear dawn it gets pretty deep, especially newcleardawn . com

  • boc is some of the most real moment-augmenting sound

  • I wasn't too sure about this track at first.

    Now it's my ring tone.

  • yo this video is awesome!! thank you Jason Willford. Did anyone else see the people around 4 minute 25/30 ish? cool!

  • @onlypeace023 thats me actually!

  • @lojomofo how did you make this vid?

  • no bass no treble

    it's perfect

  • This song is heroin for my temporal lobe, not worried at all :)

  • Yesterday I listened to this while jogging. It was during a sunset. Felt like a religious experience. No drugs involved but the natural endorfine.

  • i love boc i cant describe it its like seeing other worlds :)

  • I listened to this song in the dark, whilst tripping on shrooms.

My mind went to beautiful places.

    I cried.

  • don't know why someone gave you a thumbs down....i can relate to that experience.

  • @Kurse14 Fail.

  • @Peppepoppldoppl

Why is that? or was that your pseudo-masculinity talking?

  • @Kurse14 Lol pseudo-masculinity. No, you just fail, and you fail all the time.

  • @Peppepoppldoppl

fail troll is fail. i don't see how having an amazing psychadelic experience and enjoying my life is "fail". What is fail? Pointlessly trolling people on the internet and not expanding your mind out of the catatonic state you live in.

  • @Kurse14 Of course it is a fail when the person we're talking about is a complete doss.

YOU are a fail. You don't seem to have a very evolved mind yourself when you mistake for a troll.

You just fail, and it's to accept it. Failure.

  • nice song. not the best one off the beautiful place ep though.

  • Comment removed

  • nice job,it reminds me of the style of the old site videos for time apple and gann

  • First time I heard the album, this was the /only/ song on it I thoroughly enjoyed. Now I find I enjoy them all, but this one is still special

  • So easy, yet so stunning ..

  • I hope heaven will sound like this.

  • It does.

  • wow, what a comment!

  • Ikr.

  • @pazke yeaaaaaaaa

  • @pazke it most probably doesn't ...... i'm happier with listening to this every night to know things are still kind of okay.

  • @pazke

    it does

  • i love boards of canada...and kaleidoscopes. this is awesome <3

  • this will give a serial killer sweet dreams

  • o_o does that make you...nvm >_>

  • video besta kkkkkkkkkkkk......

  • musical perfection ...

  • when is BoC new release?

  • their new release should be soon second half of this year i read in an article, one of the tracks is called isolated receiver i think. there's not much info as usual in true BoC style. :)

  • what article? Send me the link, I NEED IT!

  • when i hear this music i think of my childhood

  • sucks for you

  • maybe it ruins the album for you. you should have phrased your comment differently. the way you typed it makes an omniscient assertion that everyone thinks it ruined the album. this is not the case

  • :'(

  • my channel is full of music like this! :-)

  • I didn't liked this song the first time I heard it. Now I believe it to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written (although I tend to say that about most of BoC songs). For many months I would put on this beautiful EP when going to sleep.

I believe BoC to be an important band because they aim at something beyond, they aim at unreachable feelings.

  • they aim at those simple things we have problems to see because we think so difficult ... so blind .. this song is the best piece of music I ever heard from the first moment on it IS my favorite

  • This track is currently my mobile ringtone. I love people reaction when it goes off.

  • fantastic !!

  • strange, this is one oft the best and most beautiful BOC tracks and its one who has not got full 5 stars in the rating.. I think its because manly people judge music with beats better...

  • You are annoying, not helping.

  • And you're renouncing the language you use to communicate in advocating "song" over track in this case. If language does not attempt at all to remain uniform, the function of language is lost.

  • ... still not helping...

  • well dude, we can all play english tutors and act anal and bitch on every misplaced comma in someone's sentence. Imo language isn't all about what's written. Language to me is about encoding messages. Wrong grammar and such might even add to the value of your message. letting another person 'feel' what you think is way more important to me than just letting him know by correct spelling. It ain't bad to let ppl know when they prolly spell smtng wrong, but ur just being a comma fucker.

  • Yeah bro, fight the system!

  • why are you guys arguing via internet? why are you arguing in the first place... this world is so full of hate, it saddens me. be happy.

  • thats silly. your silly.

  • i don't get why i'm "silly" but all right.

  • now your sillier. enjoy your sillyness, you king of the silly-ees.

  • ...THE...king of sillyness?! THE KING OF SILLYNESS!?!? WE MUST BOW DOWN AND ENJOY THE SILLYNESS!!!!!! FOR SILLY SAKE!!!!!!

  • oh go silly yourself

  • join me?

  • an amazing conversation to an amazing song

  • till the end

  • Conflict is like a river. There are times when it's deep and calm, and times when it's shallow and hectic. But if you learn to navigate past the rocks and go with the flow, it's not so bad.

  • this is beautiful.

  • Rypley34 and Corbono35, you are both fags.. stop arguing on youtube like little pathetic bitches and get on with your life! Dumb asses.

  • what a mint track

  • people don't like roughly 1 in 2 people they meet, we should accept this lol

  • see if you can pick some grammatical holes in that one im sure you can waste a bit more of your time, theres a few in there.

  • the thought that arises in my head when I hear this song is so hard to put into words..all other worldly thought seems to be put on hold and i just drift.. and whilst i listen i hope that i can just drift forever and yet it tragically ends. This song reveals things that you couldn't otherwise see and it reveals them in such a beautiful way you grow some appreciation for it.

  • hahaha intelligent thing to say, heaven forbid someone express their thought process, here ill outline yours for you so that next time you can just skip most of the words,....fag..gay..penis....

  • Wow some one has a vocabulary, well now all you need is some grammar lessons. requisite is not a verb, and discusting* disgusting. Well this is to only be expected from a person who has such homophobia, so much so that he dreams of the day he can use Qx in a response.Hell the average sexually secure man would have said this sucks, or dribble, But no you decided the best response BALLS and COCKS.

But your right I am the gay one.

    Decent effort.

keep up the tit for tat

    and ps.. I despise poetry

  • Oh I won't pick on your grammar, it was only a ploy to off set your comments. I am not really sure how you read these comments but I think its only you who finds them to be articulate.

But if picking on grammar is a poor defense, then trying to defend through others accents is even worse.

Ill bring this argument full circle, and leave you with something to think about.

    COMMENT

    a remark, observation, or criticism

Idk maybe in the UK those kinda of things are gay, or merit some dick sucking

  • If this makes any sense outside of my mind, i'll try & put it in words.

This song (& many other BoC's songs) combine the endless mystery & beauty of science, I guess.. from learning it as a child.

&& it's a great great feeling to listen back to that time. Because it sure is different. !

  • that's a really great way to put it actually.. there's some understanding that you can easily draw between math and everything, science and everything, just the nature and complexity of life.. how fractal everything is, and how complex, and how fragile.. much like the way a child perceives the world..

  • you've nailed it dreamphase, BoC definately takes me back to the wonders of being a child. the songs seem to bring up dreamy moments of television, of grade school,etc................wonderous times with endless possibilities.

  • it doesn't take a lot of thought to make a perfect assumption of something liek this. love & music makes you an artist inside

  • holy crap i misspelled like..

    D: !

  • reminds me of ripples going smaller and reflecting the sun and some experience i never had

  • amazing song, reminds my a little bit of anne clark "echoes remain forever" or "feel"

  • for some reason, this song makes me cry.

  • seriously me 2!

  • the boards of canada can never be beaten by any techno\trip hop band... they are immortal

  • @derf234 Some will try in the future, best of wishes to them.

  • definitely looked like wee dto me too. maybe just trees

  • nah thats not weed

    i should know im dutch

  • yeah, those are trees.

    And I'm brazilian

  • then u should know

  • sure we both know then =)

  • is that pictures of wee d that they are showing at the start?

  • @MOMOf333SP Nope

  • HEAD

  • yes, if you press this key and this one on your synth, plus add what is called delay, you eventually obtain a sound similar to the one you are hearing. And you can go on like this for a while or make the whole thing into a loop and yes it sounds nice. But are those guys really on Warp ?

  • I think this tune is more like a synth arpeggio cycling through some really nice chords, with a gate applied. The synth goes on in the background and the gate chops it into bits for rhythm.

Yes, it's one of my fav tracks by the Boards. Not everybody's got to do Autechre, you know. :) Cheers

  • see, you probably could do the same and enjoy your own music just as much. course not everybody has to do autechre, man.(quite difficult anyway) I criticise but it's cool not to have only autechre and Djames to listen to.

  • Autechre has their ups and downs, they might have some great drums at times but most of their songs lack melody, which causes me to hate them.

But I fucking loved their Incunabula/Quaristice releases.

  • love this! In fact, the four track ep it's from is just the best! God bless boc..

  • Boards of Canada, whether they admit it or not, have obviously taken many pointers from the early solo work of Hans-Joachim Roedelius. If you ever stumble upon any of it, do take a listen.

  • is he the guy from 'LFO'? there's a simular tune on the last album of Stealth

  • no. he's roedelius. he's a juggernaut rarely given credit by the germanophobic english speaking world. what a loss. He was in Kluster/Cluster, Harmonia, his character and style was ripped off and marketed by Brian Eno, with whome he worked. Actually, Eno really takes credit for defining ambient stylistically when it was actually roedelius who very, very much predated him. Much more can be said, but go and find out for yourself.

  • *pardon my poor english

  • Amazing!!!

  • Song makes me want to cry... So many memories of good friends and home. Needs to be played at my funeral.

  • It is the Best!!

  • Burn outs...

  • Make fun of burnouts all you want.

But you know they have awesome taste in music xD.

  • Superb track.

  • Superb video!

  • farrginicehole - "this is trance just without anything that makes it trance"

    DUH!

  • i love this track

  • sounds like excerpt from cocteau twins' victorialand. strange what similarities you can find in music if you search well

  • i love the cocteau twins...hooray for obscure music

  • yeh...............

  • what do they have to do with this?????????

  • i was replying to someone elses comment (they mentioned the cocteau twins...)

  • my girlfriend is their biggest fan :)

  • nuh, uh, my sister's cousin's uncle is!

  • surely your sisters cousins uncle is just your cousins uncle?

  • I think you have trance confused with ambient. Either way this is great.

  • This is trance - just without the 130-140 bpm's. Repetitive, atmospheric and brilliantly done - a great piece of music. Don't be snobbish about what you like musically. That's what put's boundaries up over a language that all can understand.

  • Images at the beginning looks like pines. Remind me of my youth in a far northern village in Quebec.. Very deep song indeed. Awesome work.

  • I used to listen to this to make myself cry after my best friend died

    LOLZ!

  • oh, me too : )

  • :) ... ;(

  • beautiful

  • Quite a dreamy tune. In a distorted sorta way, but nice either way.

  • made in winamp

  • ahmen to that hybercube01
