A) I work at a veterinary office. I own horses. The American Veterinary Association states that horse slaughter is a necessary outlet for unwanted horses.

B) Don't even begin to think you can get a top level compitition horse out of bloodlines that aren't carefully selected. That takes time, and tons of research.

C) I'm done argueing because I'm set on my opinion. I did a 15 page pro-slaughter argument paper in college against an anti-slaughter paper. I got the grade. The other didnt.

If you know a lot of people who want horses, good. Do they want 100,000 horses? I doubt they could even make a dent in that number.

@CowboyChaser121 You would get the vet out if it was ill, but if it had (for example, a broken lag or navicular syndrome) and the horse was in great pain, then the horse would be humanely put down by a leathal injection. (euthanasia) If it was useless, and I don't quite know what you mean by that, as riding horses is only part of owning one - which non-horse riders do not seem to understand. The horse would be used as a companion or allowed to stay at pasture.

If you stop horse slaughter then horses really will be abused. They are shot by there owners and left to rott, abandoned in unpopulated areas or not properly cared for. The bottom line is that horses are livestock, not all of them are breed to be pets.

I herd that some ppl rescued a mare and foal from meat. To help the mare survie they killed a foal. I say to myself why? But then I get it for one to live one must die.
