  • The Best Guitar Solo on Planet Earth :)

  • 8 people are totally retarded if you don't like this you must be deaf

  • ozzy's on heroin and randy's on speed...

  • i sure do hope Sharon took care of Ozzy,s woody after this video!!!!!!!

  • The solo broke my leg. Thats how bone crushing it was... The only one who could do that

  • ozzy and randy together, live, i would LITERALLY give my left nut to live in the years early 78' and may of 82.

  • @rokvidfan I was all of 13 in 1978 and when Van Halen came out w/ their first album it was like... WTF??? I mean, the only other guitarist who changed everything like Eddie did was Jimi Hendrix. Then in 1981 {I live in the US} when Blizzard Of Ozz was released everybody was just in awe. It was a great time to be young and into great music. You also had AC/DC w/ Back In Black and Sabbath w/ Heaven & Hell... all within a few short years. And Randy just blew everyone away...

  • @DrDeath26 yea, i feel ya, heaven n hell was the best non-ozzy sabbath record, anyway. AC/DC has always been a mood band, for me, though. Jimi was a tripper who put what he saw/heard/tasted into his music, i believe, probably not, but it's a nice thought. but Randy...Randy was a culmination of all that was right in the world of music, classical styles, great musical history/backround, his moms musical institute and first guitar at like 3 or 4 etc etc. (continue)

  • @rokvidfan Perfectly stated!

  • @DrDeath26 Randy was also a great shredder, speed picker, tapper, but didn't dote on the fact he could. he played all his styles into his parts of the songs.

  • @rokvidfan Yes! I agree completely!

  • dude ozzys humping the mic at 1:19 and continues until 1:49. holy fuck!

  • HOLY MOTHERFUCKING GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD THIS FUCKING RULESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • I love Iommi,he probably thought Ozzy would fall flat on his face after

he left Black Sabbath. But i bet when he first saw this,he said "Oh,Shit!"

  • Randy sounds like the spiritual lovechild of Bach and Hendrix

  • @xbertocoaylax That is brilliant!

  • Randy is the best!!!

  • Getting on a plane with a coked up pilot is a worst idea than suicide

  • @kdj997 i meant worse

  • @kdj997 FUCK YOU ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!!!!@!@!!!

  • @enurrequiem I'm a human being, my asshole is something thats a part of me but does not define me as a whole. Thank you.

  • HAIL SATAN !!!!!!

  • I know ppl r entitled to their own opinion. Now that they've stated their opinion about 8 non supporters of Randy and everyone else I'm gonna state my opinion. FUCK YOU!!!

  • as long as we live they will never have full rule of music!!! OzzY!! OzzY!!! OzzY!!

  • Funny watching Randy make a mistake & look around to see if anyone noticed :)

  • Comment removed

  • Best at 3:30!!!!!!

  • 8 dislikes?what are u morons thinking??show some respect!best guitar player to grace this planet!enuff said!

  • Randy Rhoads, Ritchie Blackmore and SRV! The greatest!

  • I am a teenager and feel like I'm the last of my kind. I've seen ozzy during his scream tour, aerosmith on their cocked locked and ready to rock tour, and just yesterday I saw Journey during their eclipse tour. R.I.P Randy who is now playing with Hendrix an Ray Vaughan.

  • I want to know why of all things has Ozzy never fukin officially released this on D.V.D. with commentary, bonus features.Imean this is thee coolest thing ever.As money hungry as Ozzy is and all the other "crap" hes released why wouldn't he release this.I'm sure he has the rights to it.????????????????

  • I am so glad these recordings exist, R.I.P. Randy Rhoads, best metal guitarist of all time.

  • This vid gives a good sense of how Randy wrapped a more contemporary sound around Ozzy's chanting. The lyrics and melody could be straight up Sabbath, but the dynamism of Randy's playing made it fresh.

  • 3 guitarists have influenced the way I play and write.... Muddy Waters, Waylon Jennings and Randy. Masters of their genres, masters of their trade.

  • Euthanasia should be legal.

  • @DaltonofHonour Yes it should. The government should have no right to interfere with someone's choice of living or not living. The government should trust every individual to make the best choice about their own life more than anyone in the world.

  • Lol such an awesome V guitar....WHERE CAN I BUY ONE???

  • @Spjungen wen u go to heven bro

  • Very good!!!!!

  • if you dislike anything by randy and ozzy you should get your ass kicked for being a loser long live randy

  • even 8 dislikes is too many. there should be none.

  • Randy had the sickest guitar on earth, the black and white poakadoted one.

  • r.i.p

  • RANDY MADE OZZY POPULAR BACK IN THE 80 CAUSE OF HIS AWSOME PLAYING

  • @shotsmoke95 I believe "helped" is the operative word.

Ever heard of a little band called "Black Sabbath"?

    Moron.

  • I'd LOVe to know what he clicked off at 4:17... Awesome echo tones....

  • so much feeling to every guitar riff and every solo! you were great and forever be known as the greatest. it sucks knowing that we can only see you shred in videos...thank you for such great music!

  • i love how not only randy roads can play like a beast, but he can coax out more sounds from a guitar than anyone else, either way, top notch playing, you are missed

  • fucking heavy guitar riff

  • Thumbs up for Randy Rhoads's solo

  • this world are full of rap and r n' bs!!

    I hate it!!

pls don't let the rock and heavy metal die!!

I hate also the new generations metal..they're just screaming like a fag.

  • in the world of RR solos...this one is pretty avg

  • His guitar just snarls, growls, freakin' awesome riff. Rhoads forever!

  • I love the drummer. XD

  • RANDY RHOADS MASTER

  • @vladik00 zakk wylde =ultimate suck he screwed randys songs with all those damn pinch harmonics>.<

  • I threwthis full tape away because I knew some metalhead would have it on youtube. I was right.

  • its funny, i always screw up at that exact same spot at 1:49......weird

  • @gibsonguitars9 Love the way he looked around too see if anybody caught it??I think rudy might have thats why he was smiling hahaha LMAO!!!!Randy is awesome!!!!!

  • i love that Randy is always smiling, God Bless

  • randy screws up ever so slightly at 1:49.

and he's totally still my favorite guitarist.

  • Is that not the most badass guitar in the history of rock...

  • LOL at 1:47 or so Randy goofs up his rythm line and then kinda smirks about it. He actually recovered it very quickly ..... and for the most part his timing , delivery and speed were just breath-taking ....... especially the fast little "asides" he would rip in there and fall back into rythm playing. For you non-players out there - that is incredibly difficult stuff to do well in a live situation especially.

Randy was a rock deity and no mistake !

  • Love those beastly old Marshalls ..... and nobody made them roar quite like Randy Whenever I need a pick-me-up I watch one of these After Hours clips !

  • glad i love this music, and always will.

  • randy was great and won't be forgotten. true, he was not bigger than elvis or the beatles. he was great though. and enough of us will keep his memory alive for years and years to come.

he had a short life for sure. but he is still being talked about. arent we?

    he is a guitar God.

be glad you got to hear him play, either live or on record.

    God bless the Rhoads family.

  • Randy saluted the blues legend Buddy Guy by playing a polka dot flying V guitar. Buddy Guy told his mom he was going to buy her a polka dot Cadillac to show her he was doing well as a musician. He never got a chance to. He's played polka dot Stratocasters ever since. For many reasons Randy Rhoads will be forever remembered. He had heart and showed in his playing. Brilliant guitar work Randy, you are sorely missed.

  • Respond to this video... anyone else seeing a finger pick on randy's thumb?

  • I wonder is Sharon was screwing ;) over Randy like she was Rudy and Bob...Perhaps thats why UCLA seemed so attractive... Thanks for keeping Randy from us Sharon :/

  • This song has such a good message

    and sounds great too

  • i think randy died cause god was scared to see how good he would have gotten cause it was was already scary how good he was

  • All true guitar players know how awesome Randy was! my friend's 15 year old son is learning guitar and digs randy SO SO MUCH !! So he will live on as long as there is a guitar on this earth!!

  • Randy Rhoads fuckin rocks!

  • Randy....I love the music You made....We will see in heaven!

  • Randy had so much more to give. He had interests in a diverse range of musical styles like all of the other greats - Blackmore, Page et al. Unlike most of today's nu-metal, black metal and the like - one dimensional and boring.

  • @msmyth115 Artist nowadays dont feel the music they play, they are just in it for the pay check imo

  • Randy is THE KING OF METAL!!!!!!

  • buzzsaw177, man! you are so right!

today's "popular music" are turning the

next generation into retards.so sad and pathetic.

"feeling" in music,"especially in rap" is almost

on its way out.giving way to destruction of the masses.

  • @joshuablevins1 Well, you picked the right path as far as music goes lol. Rock on \m/

  • GMW Still sells these, for about $2,400.

  • is this the only pro shot footage with RR?

  • @otheozzy Well, from what we know.... There is most likely more that we don't know of.

  • Hmm when will old heavy metal come back into style?

  • it's cool to listen to guitarists like randy and jake e. lee that do fills. you don't see guitarists doing those nowadays anymore. good times

  • randy is the best rock guitarist thats ever lived, the feeling is awesome! i love the little chord he muffs at 149 an then at 154 looks out with this cool little smile lol like oops!

    thanks jake

  • @jake95284abc

Noticed that one too. Very rare seeing him flub, but hell its live & it happens :)

  • Man, that PDV is kick ass. I'm saving up for one, so hopefully I'll be getting it soon. Man, Randy is just amazing. It sucks that he's not here anymore. I miss him too much!!

R.I.P Randy. I'll see you in the afterlife. Then you could teach me all your tricks!!

  • And I just found out that they don't make em anymore!!!! WTF!

  • @buzzsaw177 What company? Sandoval? GMW? Jackson?

  • @hundanth Jackson. Was orginally made by Gibson(Karl Sandoval) for Randy, but Jackson made about 200 replicas that are LOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG gone.

  • @buzzsaw177 I know this is a late reply, I've been busy with family and work. First off Sandoval never worked with Gibson and secondly, the 200 replicas aren't LOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG gone, I myself own one. Found it at a pawnshop of all places. I'll try to film it later I don't have a video camera any more after the dog got to it at the cottage.

  • @hundanth Yea lol. Found that out a week ago lol. Yur one lucky guy to own one of those PDV's though.

  • I wonder if Delores ever looks at these videos and reads the comments.... If you are hi

  • ozzy and randy made some of the best songz in metal. ftw

  • O_O!!! Did Randy screw up at 1:47 . That's extremely weird!!

  • OH! I caught that. haha

  • Yea. He starts laughing lol. Thats probably the first time he messed up.

  • ever. haha

  • 1:49

  • No one knows about Randy anymore. He lived a short career with Ozzy and now with Hip-Hop and Rap as popular as ever, no one looks into Ozzy. I'm afraid it's just us guys now. We are all fans of Randy and may he Rest In Peace.

  • Yea man. But hopefully its gonna get better. Its a new decade. The last one was AWFUL!! (in terms of music). WE need another metal era.

  • it sucks. I was born right into the downfall of rock, I hate hearing stories of concerts of Randy, Hendrix, Quiet Riot, and so many other bands that I will never see

  • @goodygoody23 Welcome to my life

  • welcome to mine too

  • @goodygoody23 u can still see quiet riot they are still preforming but it wont be the same without Kevin

    R.I.P Kevin DuBrow

    R.I.P Randy Rhoads

  • @goodygoody23 rock may have faded away, but it will live in the hearts of us all!!

  • @thebeastman88 That's true. And it lives through the remaining few bands that don't sell out and actually make music for the sake of music.

  • @buzzsaw177 :D Randy is the man!!

  • its true im makeing a randy memorial shirt in schoool and every one looked at and asked me whos that?

  • @buzzsaw177 dude i was all into hip-hop for a certain period, then accidently, i discovered a doors movie. now, i listen to stuff like this and play guitar. The best things are accidental.

  • @musicshaman1967 so did I. I just got sick of all the negativity and ugliness in the lyrics, not to mention the way it made certain people around me act.

  • @buzzsaw177 We are more then you think man !!! Some young people still adore Randy and Ozzi, they will never day.

  • @buzzsaw177 AMEN.

  • @buzzsaw177 yeah but theres probably more of us than you think :P

  • @buzzsaw177 They can have their Hip Hop, this music is special to us and everyone knows what a monster team this was. Randy was the uncrowned king.

  • @buzzsaw177 man your'e right i get sad hearing Randy play because he's so brilliant but the this generation and the next won't discover him like we did.. I wish he was still here shredding everyday. sigh....R.I.P. Randy Rhoads.

  • @buzzsaw177 Fuck Hip Hop, Rap theyre cheap and shitty. Rock,Heavy Metal,Red Dirt Metal, classic rock deserve better than Rap Hip Hop !!! Heil OZZY !!! HE and Dio are the best !

  • @buzzsaw177 thats why it will stay strong ozzy has over a million fans more than pop and hip-hop and rap put together

  • @buzzsaw177 Amen bro.

Rock will never die, as long as our kind still walk the earth.

  • You know what I'm very Proud of Randys fans you know seeing all those coments below o guitar tuning, guitar tricks like bends and harmonics makes me realize that randy's audience is a very musical mature people, 'cause some high school classmates all they used to talk about, was metallica's solos and stuff and they dont have a clue on melodic and rythm just to see this comments encourage me to practice more and study more. see ya all around and again just to know who randy is, you're OK. RIP

  • randy used only 4 guitars live the jackson concorde the black and gold jackson the sandoval dot v and les paul custom he only used the jackson for diary songs because they were tuned down half a step and every song on diary was and he used th epolka dot v on children of the grave iron man mr crowley and suicide solution and the les paul on everthing else he says ths in an interview

  • LOL. Rudy doing his tricks again at 1:27

  • randy's les paul was a gibson...im very sure of it. people say its a burley les paul, but ive done a lil research so im sure its a gibson so

  • @JakeRipperguitar19 Yeah It was a Gibson -1974. The Burny's were made in the late 80's after Randy's death.

  • dude ain't playing around, he stays strictly to the map until designated riffage times

  • lol randy is so awesome!!! and anyone notice that guitar is almost the same size as randy, randy was a little dude but a MONSTER guitar player!

  • Thanks for video!

  • Remember people, this thing they did for the t.v. show was right after a concert, i don't think he wanted to go setting up all his guitars, he probably just used the ones he used for the concert, above all he loved all his guitars, (obviously or he wouldn't have had them)

  • haha yea mt;v sucks balls but jackson makes great randy rhoads guitars now i have one 1400 dollars but the best thing i've ever bought i stroughnly recomend getting one it's an awsome guitar for sure. randy must have loved the jackson and the karl sandoval flying v. look how much fun he's havin dude. i've seen the beleiver video with the jackson and the tribute album in that song must be the same guitar and he plays a really good solo so it must be a really good guitar.

  • Haha, true, i think Randy favored his gibsons, although he is most looked upon to have his shark fin or his polka dot V.... and actually, in my opinion, this was his worst solo, listen to the ones in Goodbye To Romance, Believer, and No Bone Movies, those solo's make me feel alive

  • 1:48, randy makes just a tiny mistake and looks around to see if anyone notices, then starts laughing. Awesome.

  • Yeah,I love 1:48,Randy missfrets completly flat...looks around"I dont think anybody heard that"Then laughs to himself....or maybe Rudy caught it. Randy forever The Best in the World!!!!

  • Actually its right beetween 1:49-1:50haha Randy is the King of Metal!!!

  • Haha, you maybe right, ozzy was singing, and tommy didnt look

  • Yea i Didt notice til now haha nevertheless hes awesome

  • 4:34... just that second.. amazing, i love that!!!

  • i thing I think is weird is that Randy actually didn't like his Concord or the Jackson LTD, thats why there are no vids of him playing it.

  • look up over the mountain live in chicago, he had tht guitar tuned down a half step (i think) n Randy loved tht guitar but if u had a polka dot v lik tht y wud u play the jackson?

  • it could either be

    1. to show off

    2. different sound

    3. his gibson didnt have a floyd rose

  • @vatscove Floyd Rose suck...when u unison bend the note u hold always goes flat cause when u bend the trem comes out of the body...plus u have to bend farther to achieve a given tone...thats why Randy liked his Gibson better...but the FR was a new toy for him;-)

  • true, i'll stick to bending, i only use my whammy bar when on harmonics like randy does, and hell yeah, that guitar was custom made for him, if i had a custom guitar given to me, i'd play the hell out of it

  • @vatscove Non of the guitars had a Floyd; The PDV had a Fender Original Block, the Pin Strip Jackson had a Vintage something something trem, the Black " Jackson Randy Rhoads" had a V plate so no trem and the 74 had a Tune-O-Matic tail piece

  • i shouldve said whammy bar, u all are confusing me with all this talk

  • no, showing off wasn't Randy's style..and i don't think is his gibson did have a floyd rose, so that's probably the reason.

  • 1. Randy did not show off. He just naturally came across as a God anyway without needing to do that.

    2. His Sandoval V had a Dimarzio Super Distortion bridge pickup and a strat-style vintage tremelo, which would have greatly affected his tone, particularly compared to his Les Paul which just had stock Gibson pups.

  • I'm not saying he hated his Concord, he just didn't like the shape of it. Grover Jackson even said it himself that Randy didn't fancy it as much as he did his RR1T or his PDV, and to each his own. I prefer the color and shape of his concord over his PDV. I still like it, but I just don't find it as interesting as the other.

  • Those Aldrich cymbal chokes just kill me... that guy is so underrated.

  • Was that not the Most BONE CRUNCHING SOLO in the history of fucking heavy metal? Randy Rhoads... he died before his time, he was a bright star that shone all to breifly.

  • @Juggalo5588 Too true bro.

  • coming up on 6000 fans!!.Congrats to our family here!! (PAUL)But I know randy has way more fans.I mean slash has a million plus and Randy only 6000? C mon people spread the word!!

    On facebook

  • @krollaostmedburger oh fuck slash randy pies on him hands down

  • I know. But slash got way more fans on facebook. Thats just wrong

  • i miss the old music. u.u

    wtf happened? O:<

  • eMpTyV happened.

  • i tell every one of you when u feel your motivation as a guitar player go down watch these old videos, they make me get that stop what the hell i am doing feeling, you only live once so get in that frame of mind and go shred be thankful u have the gift he motivated us to do.rip rr

  • I had an opportunity to meet Tommy Aldridge at a Drum Clinic. I asked him of all the guitarists he'd ever played with over the years, was there a favorite. Right away he said, Randy Rhoads. By Leaps and Bounds as a player and a person.

    Easy to see why!

  • excellent quality, great post dude!!!

  • Too bad Ozzy's voice sounds blown out on a lot of this After Hours live stuff. Rest of the band sounds tight. Rhoads wrote some great riffs in his short life.

Unlike a lot of the "Diarrhea Hands" shredders that would follow Randy and Ed, Randy (and Ed) knew how and when to rein it in. Tasteful, emotive, memorable and perfectly structured solos on the studio stuff.

  • While that is true, it doesn't excuse the highlight in Ozzy Osbourne's early work: Randy Rhoads. Pretty great guitar player in my opinion, in the league of many guitar legends, like Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, and perhaps even Jimi Hendrix.

  • Plugged strait in to the Marshall,Awesome. Randy kicks ass!!!!

  • 1-No player of mid level talent or higher plays straight through the an unmodded head. 2-Even if someone does, it doesn't make them any better, just less range in sound. Randy used MXR dist, chorus, flanger, Vox wah and various delays.

And as a guitarist build their sound, there's no way he'll go anywhere without it. Look in frame 240 and you'll see a large black platform in front of him on the floor. That's his pedal board.

  • no...more like through his pedal board.... then into a marshall...

  • So what kind of dist.pedal did he use??It sounds nice and thick..

  • mxr distortion + but it really was tht combined with the mxr 10 band eq that got the sustain, most distortion is from the amp.

  • @wareaglebabe11

Yeah the MXR Distortion + is awesome but it's more of an overdrive pedal than a distortion box.

  • god, i love this guitar that randy is using

  • sandoval v with whammy. great guitar.

  • wow

  • ギターの音~最高です(^o^)

  • I agree with donek195225

  • Tommy Aldridge (the best rock drummer of all time) check him out with PaT Travers band before he joined this line up!

    Rudy Sarzo, incredible,

    Ozzy in his prime

Randy .........OMG, the best ever. its been 27 years since his death and I was 17 at the time and am still sad. I play guitar and continue to be influenced by Randy to this day. Simply, NOBODY compares. He was a once in a lifetime player for sure.

  • Tommy Aldridge is one of my influences as a drummer, the guy just fucking rocks! I believe he did "Out go the lights" with Pat Travers, killer stuff.

  • The best band ever....

  • The bass player is laying down a layer of carpet that Randy and Ozzy can walk on. Sometimes the most important people in the band aren't out front.

    This guy kicks ass.

    jw

  • Ozzy and Randy, Fantastic, but that drummer and bass player are doing more than most people can see, if you haven't played out. Both have a tremendous amount of style and patience.

I personally thing the drummer is the personification of 80's style. My drummer used to play with his shirt off also. Just because he felt less inhibited.

    Bad ass combination.

    jw

  • randy @ 0:46 - 0:48

    whoa

  • the guitar is not that big he's just so small it makes it look really big
