Stupid how his name is pronounced "Michael" by NHL commentators.
It's MIKAEL, not Michael.
But what you can do when everything non-english is always so difficult to native english speakers. Everything has to be "englishized" before example americans can say or even understand it. Otherwise their brains go in disconnected BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP mode...
I wonder how they manage to pronounce his last name ALMOST right way(!)
Big boi a poke check would have been a valid save selection but a fake would have a higher sucsess rate due to the players superior puck handling skills
@ijustinlive Yeah man... somebody at this level isn't going to fall for a simple poke check. His puck was in shooting position for 90% of the fake, and he started it with a fake shot.
@voluMzor Fakta on se, että 95% maamme asukkaista on juntteja. Suurin osa noista junteista kattoo lätkää, rallia ja pesäpalloa. Kuningaslaji on tietääkseni nimeltään jalkapallo... Sit voidaan huudella ku voitetaa ruotsi fudiksessa. Eli joo yhdyn kommenttiisi.

@StriderFIN Several World Cups? I think you mean the World Championships. They're totally different tournaments. Even then Finland has only won two World Championships, you can hardly call that succeeding in "several" tournaments.
@sweetnucks 2000-2011 Finland has 3 bronze medals, 2 silver medals and one gold medal from World Championships, one bronze medal and a silver medal from Olympic Games. Id say that is succeeding in several tournaments.
@Tukkiperse Bronze and Silver, those are just consolation prizes. The medals given so people don't feel bad. As a coach once said, you don't win silver, you lose gold. Success is only really counted when you win the gold. Other than the Olympic silver medal, I don't think Finland threw any big parties after not winning gold.
@sweetnucks So you are saying that getting silver or bronze in Ice Hockey World Championships (which is the toughest hockey tournament after olympic hockey) or in olympic hockey isn't a real achievement? Yeah I know, your comment was a bit lame.
@xeroxFIN For one.. the toughest hockey tournament in the world is the Stanley Cup playoffs. The World Championship does not feature the best players in the world. You get teams mostly piecemealed together. Seriously, other than Finland who really keeps track of how many silver and bronze medals that they've won? Nobody. Ask the Russians, Canadians, Americans, Czechs, Swedes etc. how many silver and bronze medals that they've won. No one really cares about those medal after the fact.
@sweetnucks umm..... Winter Olympics???? I think that might be a bit tougher than the Stanley Cup playoffs. Or maybe the IIHL World Juniors? I'm not discouting the prestige of the Cup, I'm just saying that there ARE tougher tournaments.
@exalight How games do you have to win to win an Olympic Gold medal? You can fluke out by winning one or two games to win the gold. You have to play 82 games to get a chances to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Then you have to win 16 games to get the cup. That's potentially over a hundred games played. There's nowhere to hide deficiencies because you have to win a series not just one game. The NHL playoffs is also the most physically demanding out of all these tournaments.
You also have to be strong physically and mentally and have the endurance to get to the Stanley Cup. The Stanley Cup playoffs are the toughest of all the tournments, hands down.
@risingfallen1 What the heck you think it is then? The structure of the playoffs is of a tournament. Teams are seeded and it's a knockout format until one team wins the Cup.
@risingfallen1 Let me say slowly so you can keep up. We're talking about the format of play in the playoffs. Yes, the NHL is a league with a schedule. The league schedule ends after 82 games. Then comes the playoffs, and the structure is that of a tournament. So it is essentially a tournament.
@xeroxFIN And if you think having the desire to be the best and accepting nothing less than that is lame then so be it. My congratulations on being consistently being 2nd or 3rd best and finally getting to feel what it might feel like to be the best for the first time in 15 years and hopefully, you get to do that again in another 15.
@xeroxFIN Or maybe you were lame... We all know how damn annoying those crap medals are. Would be better to lose earlier so it wouldn't matter that much. And trust me, none of the finnish keeps track of those, except once already mentioned Tukkiperse.
Also, it's fun to call World Championships tough, over half of the teams have absolutely no chances of winning. You need to win only few real matches.
@TheOtus Then don't watch ice hockey. All medals are good and every team HAVE possibility to win, they just need good tactics and maybe more better ice hockey players. You shouldn't watch Ice Hockey World Championships if you think that this competition is worthless.
@xeroxFIN When did I say that I watch ice hockey? Again, anything else than gold is a loss. I can't really imagine a greater loss in sports than a silver. And no, most teams do not stand any chances as they are. Yes, they sure could be better if there were better players, but in most countries there aren't, so that line was pretty naive.
@xeroxFIN getting a silver is like losing the stanley cup finals, sure you got there but you still lost. You aren't the best and you lost the most important game of the tournament. You can say "we are still second best" but you still have to watch them celebrate and see what could have been.
Yeah I know he's gonna go to NHL. What I mean here is Sm-league is only player machinery like many other countries. When there seems to be good players NHL strikes immediately. Anyway it would be nice to see these good players in Sm-league more. Unfortunately they all will go to NHL.
@Rgownage2 hmm.. This guy is just 19 years old and couple years ago nobody even didn't know him. Well, I think that Finnish ppl knew him :) But still, soon he will play in NHL... When 19-year-old kid does something like this with that confidence when there is NHL goalie against him that is pretty huge thing. And this kid will be something huge..
En ole koskaan tälläistä vidota katsonut . Enkä tule katsomaankaan. Niin miksi teidän romuissa lukee että olet valinnut tämän videon.
