The story is meant to be an autobiography. Apparently Golden was not supposed to publish the book until the geisha he interviewed and the influential men she knew were dead. He violated that agreement and the geisha he interviewed has gone and written a book of her own to counteract some misinformed information, such as the mizuage thing.

Actually, Golden states in the end of the book that Sayuri, and even the autobiography story at the beginning of the book, was all fictional. 'Memoirs of a Geisha is a novel and the character of Sayuri and her history are my own inventions.'

Yes, but if you know anything about Geisha's, it is that they do not sell their bodies for the highest bidder for their virginity.

Go read about 'Geisha, A Life' or type it in on Youtube and see the news story about it. The book is pure fiction. There was no Nita Sayuri ever in Geisha existence.

Wow, this is good. The music fits with the cutting of video and with the scenes. The plot is told really well in this, you can easily follow the story because there's all main things shown, and the ending is really, really good! It was very touching. There's few bugs in transitions between clips, but i think that's not your fault(those programs arent's really so clear to use).
