  • Re: the mental journey to voluntaryism...

If you are teetering on the fence between voluntaryism as described here, and some form of libertarian minarchy, I urge you to consider a mental exercise. Sit down and try to draft a completely new constitution for a government that you could support. But in so doing, force yourself to strictly adhere to the "Non-aggression" axiom (google it, if it's new to you). It will illustrate the fundamental aggression of gov't, and cause you to question it.

  • Very well said! "Voluntaryism" is a term that's new to me. Am I guessing correctly that it is essentially just pure philosophical anarchism, without the negative baggage of chaotic violence that the european-style "revolutionary anarchists" like to portray? Those punks have sullied the good name of "anarchism".

  • Don't be a nonvoting "dilletante" libertarian because of Reagan. Read Lysander Spooner, study jury rights. The Libertarian Party is what you make of it.

Now it's just cowardly intellectual masturbation. Pathetic. Voting for a voluntaryist is not "trying to control people". It's trying to decontrol them...

Wishing won't wish away the police state.

You can vote in self defense and not "give consent". That is smartest, because it uses all available tools. Voting just isn't the whole game.

  • @libertarianjury

I don't think you can vote in self defense but even if you could, you would be wasting your resources. You must spend time and resources on figuring our who is the best/least bad candidate and you have to go to the polling station. Considering that the impact of your vote is near zero, voting would be a bad investment. I rather recommend that you donate $5 to a libertarian org. This way your chances of making a difference would be much higher.

  • That was fantastic!

  • Amen brother!
