I'm with gingerbread. What does it matter? Artists tend to appreciate covers by groups that make it their own anyway. Did Johnny Cash disrespect NIN with Hurt? Was Genesis insulted by Disturbed's version of Land of Confusion?

Those versions were very different from the originals, but weren't "disrespectful."

And besides, most musicians get bored and change the way they play the song themselves over time. Are they dissing their own work?
