  • really? a licensed cosmetologist teaching people how to cut their own hair?

  • @freakmybutt Well, I didn't learn how to cut my own hair in Cosmetology school. I taught myself.... There's one thing I've learned in my 18 years of cutting hair... and that is that women are going to cut their own hair with or without your help. I often taught my 'ladies' how to cut their bangs in between bang cuts when I was working at a salon and they truly appreciated it. Its MHO that its better to have women cutting the right way than the wrong way. Have a blessed day!

  • Does your hair have to be wet to do this?

  • @Juskaimi You can cut your hair wet or dry. If you are afraid of taking too much length, the dry cut is recommended. (since wet hair shrinks after drying...) Hope this helps! XO

  • I love the kitty!

  • @Themittens2010 I love kitters too! I have 5 of them! and love, love, love them all!

  • @notaditdot dawwwwww how freaken cute!!!

  • You make the hair into a brush?

  • @iggythelindsey I was joking around about that but you could actually use your own hair to make a cosmetic brush if you cut enough hair. (as long as your hair is clean when you cut it:o) XO Carolyn

  • Fair enough. My apologies. I was in panic mode when I pulled this up by accident. Life's been tough and I shouldn't have written without thinking but you handled it like a lady. Thank you

  • @TheatreGrove You are very sweet and I appreciate our conversation very much. Right now its tough on all of us.. me included. I am the single mother of a child with learning disabilities and we live like paupers pretty much. I work all the time but its never enough... I can only hope and pray that things get better for us all soon! God bless! XO Carolyn

  • Hey Caroyln could I take the top part of my hair and leave the lower part out and do shorter layers If I want to ? do you think that would also work , Im paying $50 a haircut to take trim it everytime , this would save me a whole pill of money'

  • @plumnetwork Yes, look for the video 'layer cut your hair'. You'll find the information you seek! XO Carolyn

  • Carolyn, you're obviously very nice and I see you're not the only one doing this but, as a recent widower, with three kids, trying to keep our house from going into forecloser ... I can't help but wonder why another licensed cosmetologist would share trade secrets for which we paid quite a bit of money to learn. Sure your helping some people save money but at the expense of others who paid for the schooling.

  • @TheatreGrove I didn't learn the 'O degree cut' or 'compact cut' in the school that I went to. In fact, no one ever showed me this cut in school at all. I learned it by doing trial and error o my own hair. Then I found out that this was a cut that mothers used during the depression to save money. I totally understand your situation but I also know that if a hairdresser is good, then loyal clients will come back, regardless of the money saved. Is this not true? Best wishes! XO

  • @TheatreGrove Also, if someone screws up their hair using this method (and there are some out there that can't master it), they will need someone to fix it, which would be hairdressers. That's also a fact. In the many years I worked at a salon, one thing is for sure. Women are going to cut (on) their own hair whether we 'share secrets' or not. I just like helping people too and this was one way I could 'give back'.

  • you are so amazing! i layered my hair, my mom's, and my best friend's using your technique!

  • @TayylorMadee That is so cool! I am sure your BFF and your mom appreciated the help! XO Carolyn

  • Hey Carolyn :) love your videos! Been watching a lot of them, because I really, really need to cut my hair. I have long straight scandinavian hair (not thick :(). Do you think this cut will work for me? It´s the first time I´m gonna do it on my own- hope you will answer me. Thanks :)

  • @jjjonse Absolutely! Just don't take off too much initially. Start with a little bit (cut) and then cut more if you aren't satisfied. XO Carolyn

  • if i do this cut can i still have the v cut shape? or will it be cut straight across?

  • @cutiewithacolt You will lose the V shape if you do this cut. XO Carolyn

  • Well,it works n my hair looks great!!Thanks!

  • @WhoAmi8083 Thank you for letting everyone know. I've used this cut so many times with great success. Its just a great cut! XO Carolyn

  • @WhoAmi8083 Thank you for letting everyone know. I've used this cut so many times with great success. Its just a great cut! XO Carolyn

  • thank you so much this worked so well =)

  • @me15346798920 So glad it helped you! XO Carolyn

  • What a beautiful woman.

  • @Misterioso Its hard to make a 52 year old woman blush but you got me! lol Thank you for your kind comment:o) XO Carolyn

  • @Misterioso aw shucks! (but thank you...)

  • If you're like me and you have waste length hair, the best way to alter this method (a great method) is by doing this first, then using her method for short hair to give better layers. I had to sorta trim layers based on where I wanted them to fall. I wanted to add some jaw length layers, so I pulled the top half up in a few layers and cut them about 2 inches or more apart. This method works great, though!

  • @Rainhylda Hi sweetheart! I have a video about the method you're describing too:o) But I think its fantastic that you thought of this yourself! Kudo's to ya! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot I did NOT see that, oh well! I did look around your vids but I really didn't catch it. I guess sometimes doing it ourselves first helps us learn, too. I better go fav that other one then.

  • @Rainhylda Aw, that's so sweet of you! The way I learned how to cut my hair was by myself, envisioning it as much as possible before hand, then just crossing my fingers and taking a chance! You wouldn't believe how many times I totally screwed up my hair, but it grew back thankfully... so you are right. We do learn important lessons when we do things ourselves:o) XO Carolyn

  • Sure drop me a message or email my user name here at gmail. Sorry about the weird posts YT was giving me trouble posting comments yesterday. Fingers crossed for today

  • @yesterdayscarnage Just sent you a message! XO

  • Thank you so much for this video. I have very straight, very thick hair that is to the small of my back. The last three cuts I've had done at a shop I told them I wanted "long layers" they looked at me like I was nuts and said I would lose the length and did their idea of what I wanted. This simple haircut is what I wanted! Something to lighten my very heavy hair without losing the length. Thank you for sharing and for saving me $40 a pop for a trim!

  • @yesterdayscarnage Yeah, I know the feeling. lol Hairdressers often cut our hair the way they want it to look. Boo! (I'm a licensed hairdresser so I know first hand!) So great that you saved money and that your hair came out great. XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot I admit I did something just a tad different - not sure that it made a difference but who knows. When I pulled my hair up for my first cut (I made two) I used a flat barrette it made me feel better than just bunching it up and cutting off what equals a small ponytail. I've donated my hair and I know how bad that first blunt cut can look. I cut off enough to make all of my hair mostly even (its been a year since I trimmed) and then checked it . . .

  • @yesterdayscarnage Hey, whatever works for you and makes you feel more secure about cutting your own hair. It all sounds very interesting though! Glad it came out so well! I would love to see a picture but youtube won't let you post them. I can't post my email addy on here either, for security reasons. I could give it to you if you want me to send you a message:o) XO

  • @notaditdot They also charge based on length! Not sure if it makes a difference but I used a flat barrette for my first cut and only cut enough to make everything even then checked to see what it looked like. I couldn't even tell I cut anything and I cut nearly 3 inches off from the tips of those random scraggly fried ends to just where all the hair looked about even. Then I pulled it up as you did in the video and cut another half-inch then evened everything up. I have a pic I can send.

  • @yesterdayscarnage Yeah, most salons don't get it at all. They just have whatever they were schooled in, which is mostly frying hair and loading chemicals on it, when organic methods are typically more effective. Hot oil treatment? I just use olive oil and sleep in a slumber cap, then wash my hair. I've had long, same length hair for 3 years and didn't want a salon to butcher my hair. Notaditdot reminded me of a method I used once, she rocks. :)

  • AWEsome! I'm gonna try it. I have really long curly hair that hasn't been cut in a while. If I cut off, say, four or five inches, is that going to mess up my hair? Or do you recommend cutting off only two inches? Love your cute cat!

  • @shadoobiehole Always, always... start with a little. Then if you like the results, cut more. MY hair is also curly, even though most people think its not. I blow it out straight most of the time.... so this cut works with all types of hair patterns. I think the cat in this video was Ms Kitten Litten. lol She (and all my kitters) are all so sweet!

  • I am just going to go for it ! I have watched this for at least 10 times to work up the courage to do it ! I will let you know how it works for me :)

  • @pammyglo1 Please do! I will be waiting to hear back from you! Best of luck! XO Carolyn

  • i wish you would have straightened your hair so that we could've seen the finished product better...

  • @MariaSoGangsta Sorry. This method works for all hair types and textures. XO

  • It worked x really helpful instructions awesome video thanks for sharing x

  • @miss87superbad And thank you for posting! XO Carolyn

  • I'm so excited about how much money im going to save!

This worked great! Thanks so much!

  • @kelcikelcikelci I love saving money too! So happy to know that you had great hair success! XO Carolyn

  • thanks! :) very cute doggy and kitty :)

  • @XxAmberNicole7xX They are! I love my doggie and my kitters! XO Carolyn

  • A Hairstylist sharing hair cutting tips! WOW! That was very nice of you to do this for us DIY Ladies. Very informative and easy to follow. Thank you for sharing, and be Blessed! :)

  • @blueandblessed Amazing isn't it? They don't teach you how to cut your own hair in school or in a salon. I figured this out over time, then later learned that it was a technique mom's used during the depression to cut their childrens hair, cause no one had money. Its funny how some things come full circle! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot Yep everything is FullCircle! Thanks for responding. I forgot to ask you one thing though. I like for my botton layer to be blunt/straight across, how to best acheive this?

(sorry if it's already been asked)

  • @blueandblessed I have an older video about 'how to trim your hair'. (I think that's the name) Anyway, its the technique I use to cut my hair blunt (trim) and its very easy. It works well but may not be 'perfect'. What is perfect anyway? XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot Thanks, I will try to find that video and check it out. You are so very helpful to us!

  • @blueandblessed Each message is important to me and if I can make things clearer or help you with something, its just in my nature to do so.... I looked in my video collection and it's listed as 'how to trim your own hair'. Hope this helps. I would give you a link but can't cause of the format of messages. Rats huh? XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot Thanks for being so kind, glad to know that we still have some nice people like you around, YAY! for you Carolyn. I know that I will have some more questions for you, when the time comes. I did find the video and I saved it to my playlist. I quess I've watched your videos over and over.... :) Thanks for going the extra mile ♥

  • @blueandblessed Thank you for being so sweet! God bless! XO Carolyn

  • omg thank u I just tried this and it works great....Thanks so much for the tip.... ;)

  • @73Meshell That's fantastic! Great job! XO Carolyn

  • damn grl u talk 2 much! but it's coo

  • the breathing of the videographer is kind of creepy....

  • @waldpicknick I just get so excited when I talk about hair I guess. Never had anyone comment about my breathing before so I don't know what to tell ya. Have a great day!

  • @waldpicknick LMBO!! I was thinking that too

  • wow strange in a way but I think around this time last year I stumbled onto your video!!! You seem like a very nice woman:) MERRY CHRISTMAS

  • @JaimeLe50s Merry Christmas to you! Santa is on his way here! XO Carolyn

  • you are dume

  • @gracetxstate535 Um, that would be dumb??? lol (Like the pot calling the kettle black!)

  • = D I just layered my hair. I have long thin hair thats a pain to layer. I tried this and it work so AMAZINGLY!!! I love it! Thanks so much for the tips.

  • Thank you so much!

I just cut my hair this way, and it turned out really great. I love it.

I had really long hair and really long layers and really needed a change.

Did it the first time and took off about two inches and didn't see much change

So I did it again and took off 3 inches, and really liked it but wanted it a little more I cut off another 2 inches, and I love it. Now my hair is about armpit length. The layers look great, it's even, Thank you! I think the key is just patience. :D

  • @sossymossy And taking baby steps:o) You did a great job lady and I am so happy that you are pleased with your outcome. Its such a simple cut too. The older I get (and I'm soooo old now) the more I like simple!~ XO Carolyn

  • can you do this why your hair is dry ? or would it work better while its wet ?

  • @HollaAtYourGirlSam Absolutely. If you cut it when its wet, be careful not to 'take to much' length. If its dry, what you see is what you get. XO Carolyn

  • OMG people have told me this works1 I truly believe it. My mom isn't big on a bunch of layers so I think she'll let me do this! Thanks so much 4 making this video. I've tried to layer my own hair before but it hasn't worked. I'm going to try this.Don't worry; i won't cut to much! I've been there ...awful

  • @1234lanek You go lady! Yep, don't cut too much on the first try. If you like what you see, but want more, you can always cut more later. XO Carolyn

  • god i tried it and my hair got messed up soo bad :*( now i gotta go to the salon and get it fixed....maybe this kinda way of cutting my hair just doesent work cuz it seems like it works for alot of other people...UGhhhh :*(

  • @breannalopez2010 Its very hard to screw up a 0 degree cut but if you say so... Maybe you held your scissors wrong or put your ponytail in the wrong place.

  • thank you

  • Thank you, just did my hair and it feels great! Thank you so much

  • @Ravenfire36 Great job! XO Carolyn

  • nice, i'll try when my hair is long enough ;) thanks! *thumbs up*

  • @TheTrueCluddy It is pretty cool to be able to create your own layers! XO Carolyn

  • Wow I really wanna try this method on my hair but I'm so scared..I guess it takes some courage he first time

  • @kaivilyn Its so easy sweetheart. Just take baby steps and cut small amounts at first. You'll surprise yourself and love the style you create for yourself! Best wishes! Carolyn

  • Comment removed

  • @kaivilyn I'v e cut my hair before and this is what i've learned

Biggest mistake:cutting to much, my tip take only 1 inch at a time and try to keep straight lines

if u don't make a completely straight line:don't freak out or you will mess up more

When i mess up i just take like less then a half inch more off and remind myself nobody's hair is perfect

    GOOD LUCK

  • thank you very much. I am going to try to cut my hair tomorrow

  • @flyingdragonize Thank you! Hope this worked well for you! XO Carolyn

  • your amazing..love ur videoo..

  • @leech48 Thanks sweetie! XO Carolyn

  • Will it take away from the length of your hair overall? For example, if my hair is 4 inches below the shoulders, will the longest part of my hair still be 4 inches below the shoulders?

  • @eventponyyyxx You got it! Yes, the longest part will still be 4 inches below your shoulders. If you want to take some length off, see my 'trim your hair' video. Its a simple technique that gets the job done. Its not perfect but who cares. Even hairdressers don't get it perfect:o) XO Carolyn

  • was your hair wet?? couldnt really tell.

  • @fabbyabby99 Its been a long time since I made this video but think it was wet. You can cut your hair wet or dry though. Either way works well! XO Carolyn

  • i love your cat he or she is so hot;)

  • NICE DOG :D LOL

  • I did this and it seriously saved my hair.......I don't have any split ends after not trimming my hair for about 8 months thankkkk you for posting this your a life saver (:

  • @SE3YOUNT Glad it helped you so much! Such an easy cut and so versatile! XO Carolyn

  • Beautiful..and does this help to rid off the brittle ends too?

  • @mnb222 I would try trimming your hair first (check out my video about this... easy to do) and then do this cut. Apply deep moisturizers regularly to your ends or try leave in conditioners on them. They'll help! Also, don't completely rinse out your conditioner when you shampoo. Leave a little in your hair to protect it. XO Carolyn

  • its not easy for me to get my hair like that. with or without help :(

  • @pap0ndn3na If it helps, you can also do the cut with your head upside down. You don't have to lift your hair above your head to get the same effect. Is that the problem? XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot

yeah i think it was the problem, thanks. now that u pointed that out, my hair looks BETTER!! thanks so much. XO Kimberly

  • @pap0ndn3na You're so welcome sweetheart! Glad it helped you! XO Carolyn

  • YOU ARE AWESOME!! And so pretty. Thanks for the tip I have hair down to my waist and this will help me out alot.

  • @TheirMommie This is a great cut, and so versatile too! XO Carolyn

  • Thanks a bunch for inspiring me to cut my own hair and for the first time in life, i have cut my hair myself and was amazed at the results. I did slight modification as I have long hairs and round face. I made 2 pony tails, 1 @ crown, another at ear level and last at the nape of neck. Now I have long layers in steps. I also added your V shape cut and bangs. I really appreciate it as I was struggling to find a good hair stylist and had nightmarish experience. Thanks a ton!

  • @swetat12 Thanks for letting us know how you cut your hair. I am sure other people will find it to be very useful! Glad your hair turned out so well! XO Carolyn

  • Would this be easily done if your hair is waist lengeth? I'm having a hard time visualizing how I would go a bout doing this.

  • @forest0mp Sorry sweetheart for not responding sooner. You may need some help but if you can't find any, allow your ponytail to fall and then make the cut. Make sense? XO Carolyn

  • Thanks for posting this. I tried it last night, took about an inch and I like the results. This is a great way to cut long curly hair. Signed up for your newsletter too.

  • @corundum25 It sure is! Just to let you know, I will not be sending a newsletter this month because I've been in the hospital. I am slowly getting better but am still very weak. Next month, I'll be back on track! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot - I hope you are feeling better!

  • @corundum25 I am sweetheart! Its amazing how time heals all wounds. I am medicine free and doing things the natural way. Its working for sure! Thanks for asking!!! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot

hi- When it comes time to cut my hair again, (let's say 1 or 2 months later), do I first trim the ends and then do the pony tail to re-layer it? OR, just do the ponytail cut? I'm unsure if only doing the pony tail cut would just layer my hair more...or if it will also shorten it? Thanks

  • @corundum25 It all depends on how much hair you cut when you do the ponytail cut. If you want to shorten the length, then you can trim your ends and then do the ponytail cut. If you just want to redefine the longer layers, then only do the ponytail cut. If you want more layers and to shorten your hair in one simple cut, then take more than an inch off your hair in the ponytail cut. Make sense?

  • Carolyn, I could hug you for this. I have thick, wavy, medium-long length hair, and HATE going to the salon because I don't think anyone in my town knows how to do a long-layered cut, lol! I've only ever cut my own bangs, and I broke down and tried this tonight because I have an interview Friday (frisky!). I did another ponytail just above my ears (per another of your vids) and one closer to the crown to put in some higher layers to give my hair some height and it looks AMAZING!! Yay for me!

  • @wahlumgirl Hi lady! I could use a hug! So thanks! That is so way cool about your hair. Thanks for explaining it so well so other people can read it and benefit from it too! Kudos to you!!! You are amazing! XO Carolyn

  • hahaaa i love ur cat.... very chubby!!! so cute...

  • @Hollysyl Thats my George! He was thin until I got him fixed... then he just blew up. lol I don't give my kitters canned food very often and surprisingly, George doesn't eat that much dry food either. Hes just a fatty cat. He reminds me very much of a Cheshire cat cause of his big eyes and round belly. He's my baby! XO Carolyn

  • Thank you so much for this great tutorial I did everything you said on this video and my hair turned out amazing. Thank you sooo much for this!

  • @dlamberto773 That is just terrific! So glad you like it! XO Carolyn

  • thanks for this! i did this in my medium lenth hair cuz it was perfectly straight i wanted just a little bit of layers and this worked! :)

  • @tearzofice That's terrific! Great job lady! XO Carolyn

  • Once again, your method worked! I did this about a year and a half ago and it looked great. My hair is to my pelvic bone and I did this with ease! Volume without losing alot of length!! Thanks and I love your cat on the sink! They are so nosey huh?

  • @kiddosthang Thanks for letting us know! I love this cut and my other cuts too! Just posted a new cut you might want to try sometime:o) Kitters rule the world! lol XO Carolyn

  • awhh a cat!(:

  • @Shelizaaa I have 5 of them actually, and one dog who thinks he's a cat. Meow! lol

  • I would give anything to have hair like yours! Mine is so thin and limp it makes me sick.

  • @kateram Have you tried Super Biotin? Its really inexpensive and won't upset your stomach like other B vitamins. I take it everyday! It also improves your skin and nails! I've never known a vitamin to work this well! XO Carolyn

  • aww.!! thanks so much! i've been wanting layers in my hair for awhile, & my dads actually a barber.... but for men. =/ & the last time he cut my hair, lets just say, i had to wear it up, for like a year afterwards for it to grow back. lol. & this is so helpful, cuz i can do it myself, cuz all i have are guys in my fam. =/ So, thanks!! ur really kool.

    Much <3,

    -C.

  • @Mercipourlevenin777 Thank you sweetheart! Sorry about your episode with your dad's haircut. I am sure he didn't mean to chop it all off! (Hopefully!) I think every woman has had that haircut. I know I have! I have several other videos for layer cutting your hair. I love the (newer) easy V cut. I will also be posting a new layer cutting video this week! Check them all out for more versatility. XO Carolyn

  • good video, Iove the kitty too

  • @cadburyeggman I sure love my kitties too! (and my doggie!) Thanks for the kudos!

  • i just want to get ri of the split ends but my hair is healthy so idk if i have to get rid of them yet. how u know when u need a cut wih split ends on curly hair?also my hair when i do that is all diffrent layers so how do i do that without cutting the long legnts i love?

  • @Nicolerulezlife Split ends will keep on splitting up the hair shaft if you don't get rid of them. You can try split end menders but I am not sure if they really work that well. The only way to get rid of them is to cut them off. This cut will only add layers to the lower parts of your hair. You can exclude the longest layers when you pull your hair up into a ponytail if you don't want to lose any length. Only cut about 1/2" - 1" though. (so it looks blended) XO Carolyn

  • i just did this last night i did feel a lil bit lighter and thank you for the tips i will be sure to pass it along

  • @seanaduling Very cool!!! XO Carolyn

  • i just tried out this method in a little different way, but it works great ... even on straight hair...

  • @Katania08 Tell me what you did! Curiosity killed the puddy tat! lol I have a slightly different version of this cut too, I'll be showing you very soon. Glad your hair turned out nicely! Kudos to you for being so inventive! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot nothing real different i found a to do on the web where it said to have the ponytail at the forehead...

  • @Katania08 Interesting! I would surmise that doing it this way gives you longer layers in the back?

  • @notaditdot exactly :)

  • @Katania08 Thanks for the heads up sweetheart!

  • how do you make it so that its not squarish at the ends and it's more v like at the ends of your hair?

  • @omgitsviolet Look at my newer video called 'easy layered V cut'. This is also only one cut and it will leave your hair layered in a V instead. Its wonderful and so easy! XO Carolyn

  • Many years ago I worked in a top salon here in London. One day, a model with very long hair came in wanting layers cut into her hair. Using a very similiar technique to the one displayed here, he tipped her head upside down, made the ponytail but twisted the hair, then snipped off the end. The result was beautiful layers - I cut my hair using this method to this day and everyone always compliments me on my lovely long layers! I don't know how it works, but it does! :)

  • @Nemie125 That is so cool! I see a video in my future! I can't wait to try this! Thanks for the heads up! Right now I am sporting my easy layered V cut (new video) but its grown out a lot (longest layer is almost at my waist now) so I am ready to get out the scissors again! Thank you so much! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot I would LOVE to see a video of this technique. So far I've only read about it, and being able to see what the results actually look like would be awesome! The layering videos you have up now are great too! Thanks for making them!

  • @Nemie125 I've read about this method, but the version I'm familiar with involves twisting the ponytail one way, cutting, then twisting it in the opposite direction and cutting again. Do they only twist it one way in the salon?

  • @timsytu Hi there - no, he only twisted it in one single direction. This was in the mid-80's so perhaps they have improved on the original method, but for many years, I have cut my hair this way because I have very thick long wavy hair and the salon always messes it up - I do a better job myself. I no longer work in a salon - I only worked there when I was a teenager for a brief time - I'm 41 now, so it was a while ago lol!

  • @Nemie125 Hi lady! I meant to ask you. When you twist your hair, do you twist it tight or loosely? This is key to the cut I do suppose? Thanks! XO Carolyn

  • @Nemie125 yea no one cares

  • love the kitty behind you!good job mam"

  • @coolcutsgal2 Aw... so sweet! Love my kitties! XO Carolyn

  • Is the lowest layer all one length at the bottom? or is this cut meant to turn out V-shaped?

  • Yep, the lowest layer is all one length. If you want a V cut, check out the 'easy layered V cut video'. (One of my newest videos.) Its awesomely easy too! Just one cut and great layers in a V! I adore both of these cuts! So easy! XO Carolyn

  • Thanks! Does the shortest layer end at your chin?? How do you cut it so that the shortest layer ends at your chin?? =p

    x

  • This video is for long layers only. Chin length would not be considered long sweetie. You'd have to hand cut that instead. Look at my 'frame your face video' for more clues on how to do this:o) XO Carolyn

  • You explain this so well. There are many videos on hair cutting on here, but yours is so friendly and easy to follow - thanks again!

  • Thank you sweetheart! XO Carolyn

  • Again Carolyn you are amazing.. Im learning new things everyday.. im also intersted in you biotin vit B? to make your hair thicker and nails stronger?

  • Yes, Biotin is a B vitamin and it rocks! It helps your hair, skin, and nails. I take Super Biotin everyday and the results are so fantastic! XO Carolyn

  • Love and hugs to you!

I have baby fine long hair. I have been trimming my bangs and blunt curtting it for years. I was considering going for a pro cut to add some layers. Then I found your video!! :) :) :) I had great reults! And I saved a bundle of money. Salons are soooooo expensive where I live.

    Thank you, Caolyn!!!

  • I love this haircut too. It truly works on all hair types and is so easy to implement. Kudos to you for cutting your own hair! XO Carolyn

  • what can I do? I have very thin, fine hair and i cant do anything! its pin straight, and long and my mom wont let me cut it! (im 15) ahh help it looks greasy and stringy all the time no matter what i do. will layers help volumize it? my mom said it'll make it look thinner. please help!!! :)

  • A few layers in thin hair will add volume sweetheart. One of my BFF's used to come into the salon where I worked. I used to tease her that she'd come to let me cut her one hair. (Her hair was extremely thin) I would add light layers and slightly thin her bangs and add a few layers to her hair and it would come back to life, so to speak. You can get a whole lot of hair advice on my site, so please read some of the pages on the 'hair guide'. Best of luck! XO Carolyn

  • Thank you so much for this video! I wanted to trim my own hair (already had layers) but didn't know how or where to start.

I used this method and took a small amount off the ponytail - maybe about an inch total because it took me a little while to get it cut straight.

It worked perfectly! I'm very pleased with the result. Thanks!

  • That's so cool! I love this cut too! So very simple, yet effective! XO Carolyn
