I think this song is about falling in love. The guy saw the little thing, and it was small at first, but then the relationship grew on him until he decided to get inside the "girlfriend's" head. He learned of her issues and it changed him, he was prepared to be with her for a while longer. She left, and he was left cold. This happend to me.

Good interpretation I must say. Usually when it comes to tunes, i can make them my own, if you know what i mean, but this one i just couldnt. Its dark undertones turned me off at some points for no obvious reason but I always would keep coming back and listening to it. Now I know why....
