I see some naive sheep watch Faux "news" and believe their invented statistics. Water creates greenhouse gas in an amount necessary for survival. We're not denying natural sources, but humans have created a HUGE amount more, plus raped & destroyed natural areas that help keep that balance. CO2 makes up about 18% of the atmosphere, so sayith elementary school science. There is no doubt our actions are having a negative impact on every facet of the planet. okay okay actually mercury is a metal that exists in liquid form at room temp. it becomes a gas at 674F. so not on this planet. and sulfur dioxide is not found naturally in the atmosphere. it's a result of pollution and that causes acid rain. hopefully if earth hour's a success we'll have a little less of it.

sulphur dioxide is found naturally, its caused by volcanic eruptions, burning forests ect, now sulphur HAS gone up by human activity so i support getting rid of tht as it actually poses a significant risk to wildlife

as plants came up and took CO2 out of the athmosphere the earth cooled down (long time ago) now going back into the atmosphere again at the rate of human consumption (= fast) and the earth is warming up again too (IPCC). why is it so hard to link up the 'facts'?

this is symbolism, ChinnyTube1.. you should understand that we need to use all possible ways to try do something about what's this planet's been going through.. my Dad is a geologist; we've talked about global warming.. whether it's mainly because of us, OR planet's natural 'geo-life' cycle.. I guess 1/2 way plus minus tothe right or left.. I'm no expert on this matter.. BUT we can try to slow down what is meant to happen anyway.. do we want it to happen in the 21st century, or hopefully later?!

Here in Puerto Rico we are working hard to became part of this. This is a great video that inspire many people. Do you have any numbers of the global efect that took place in this event? How much CO2 reduction? or energy saving or something?

Hundreds of millions of people took part. C02 reductions and energy savings were not measured, as they weren't the focus of the event. What was important was to show world leaders that many, many people in the world care about climate change and that action is needed to address it at the Copenhagen Climate Conference in December.

It's a brilliant video! Really effective and I think it will have an influence on many people to change their lifestyles to do their part.

Maybe we shouldn't wait for an official Earth Hour... maybe we should try doing it more often- like making it a part of our weekly schedule? (Daily would be better but can people make that sacrifice everyday?).
