this song tripping on shrooms or acid like i used to do.. is amazing... it taught me to play like pat... this song..."picture a light cool summers breeze on an august night.. while floating with the wind... thats how i felt with every breath i took the music followd i listened to this and minuano 6/8 2 times over!!
that like saying a harp isnt a proper instrument because all the strings are tuned in ha ha or saying that slide guitar style isnt because the guitars tuned to an open chord. pat methany is top "the way up" rocks
not being an ass whole i just think it looks halarious and as the story goes he went to the guitar maker and said make me a guitar with the most strings you can fit on it.Even pat must of thought that was a little funny.Well the thing with slide is you cant really go too far wrong though can you, makes things a little easier in the simplest sense of playing 'right' or 'wrong' notes. i dont know anything about harps except thier really hard and very technical with all the pedals and harmics etc

hahaha no but lets be honest, even though pat is blatently a talent beyond compare, 42 strings is waaaay over the top and you can see by the vid they are all tuned to open so its not like he can hit a wrong note, i cant help feeling that that guitar is some strange joke lol. Have y
That Guitar is f*cking insane! I made a crude imitation of it. I welded double necks and acoustic guitars together! It came out horribly. Still it was awesome and funny.
This was a masterpiece by Linda Manzer of Toronto.
I've played her "Cowpoke". I've been playing guitars for 38 years and have played thousands.
I thought I knew what "good" was, til I played one of hers. She is about the finest luthier of acoustic instruments today. What you see here is an engineering masterpiece because of the lbs. of pressure generated by all the strings, + all the acoustic considerations, + playability.
Pretentious shit.

slide guitar isnt a real instrument, its just a normal guitar with a slide. Its a method or technique rather than instrument.
Also, J7348, dont be an arsehole .

Check out the "Into the Dream/Have You Heard" track from the Studio 54 sessions. You should see it if you pull up a PM search.
Sonzonette posted it.

I wish I could have went to this concert. I had a jazz gig at "Isle of Capri" while this concert was going on. :( Maybe next time!
