Holy hell, this is amazing. His voice is just so gorgeous on it. I saw him tonight, but by the time he got around to this song my ears were having a hard time deciphering words from the music, so I had no idea what song this was, just that it was a Waylon Jennings song. Wow. Amazing. Thanks for sharing this!

Amazing version of one of my dear favorite country songs.. What is amazing is I can picture Waylon, willy, & Christian riding the range on horses with this playing in the background.. Has that nice bit of "Giddy Up" to it.

@OkieCam16, I kind of like this version. You can get back to the basics, and a slower pace of life, with fast paced songs. Check out any hoedown! I was walking through a Wal-Mart once, and Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi" (a song which is most decidedly anti-consumerism) came on. Now *that* was a bass ackwards situation, let me tell you!

I love the inclusion of Shooter Jennings' name in this version!

I remember Luchenbach, Texas as a child - both singing it and yes, we did go visit and take pics in the giant tree. One problem with this version: Kane's voice is undeniably great - his intro gives shivers - BUT if you could make out the words, the whole song is about getting away from the fast-paced life and getting back to the slower small town pace. It makes no sense at this tempo! It doesn't have to be as slow as the original, but c'mon let us enjoy that voice wrapping around each word!!

I cannot believe some of you have NEVER heard of Luckenbach, Texas!!!! I just thought EVERYONE in the world had been there. I live 10 min away in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, the land that was blesed by God I might add. If you haven't been do go. Texas music, cold beer, washers, friends oh yhea and singing Luckenbach, Texas of course.

@Sportfreak04Dan Chris was born in Dallas,Texas. His family moved several times and ended up settling in Norman, Oklahoma. And I do love Waylon a lot but I prefer Chris' version. Makes me happy and I want to dance!!!!
