@tntpde It's quite complicated, you'll have to do a search on gamereplays-dot-org forums in order to find the relevant thread that explains it. Youtube won't let me link in comments...check your PM though.
Do you get it a lot that you sound like Tom Hanks? You should really try making a Forest Gump Reference.
Second, when playing as the Airborne, would you reccomend against or for using their infantry or just use standard riflemen? I find it hard at times to compete standard airborne infantry squads against grenadiers or volkgrenadiers. Espeically when the Knights cross holders come in. What do you suggest?
@freejellybeans Airborne are very tough but have a hard time killing infantry. It's a good idea to have one squad of Airborne on the field with recoilless to help out against vehicles, but you're going to want standard rifles to deal with enemy infantry.
i always have a shitty car? how you have a kettenkrad or so? Also what does sector artillery exactly do? Dont understand how its good... I got Tales of Valor when there was a steam sale:D I like this game alot but i am still very bad lol
did you retreat the g43 squad to build to make it interesting? like give US a chance? cos nobody does that normally a vanilla squad will retreat while G43s will continue raping US rifles
Good start. I usually get group zeal if i'm floating MP and fuel to increase the power of infantry, as well as Off-Off-Def vet for the G43 squads. Last vet as defensive for infantry and first vet defensive for vehicles gives extra bonuses. But you did great without it, so: good job.
Bridger, Do like I do bind the Attack button to mouse button (when you press the whell button) also keep the base rally point far from the base in some center point at the map
I also noticed a few things that annoyed me such as driving the IHT into the MG and leaving the mortar halftrack out in the open and just asking someone to kill it.
Overall pretty meh for me seeing that I already know most of the info presented (one thing I picked up was throwing grenades into their predicted spot). Nonetheless good for newer players though.
Really helpful video. Replays with commentary are good, but actually seeing you play it live shows us where you're clicking and how you handle your units, which is extremely enlightening.
Hey Bridger, I hope you are planning to make a series out of your own games with live commentary, because I really liked this one. Yes, high level games are fine for what they are, but there is a lot to learn from ones like this too, at least for me.
Ever thought about maybe livestreaming something like this on justin.tv?
Well...i'm watchin those Tales of Heroes Videos a while and i have to admit: Bloddy good job, chaps. :) The explanation of those Grid Keys is kinda usefull, though some chaps still use the Default Hotkeys (Just as i do). Your videos are great, your commentaries are funny and entertaining to watch and really helpfull for new players either!
Hm, mediocre episode. But VERY good part about the hotkeys at the end. Never realised that they have acutally a system. ;-) Well, because I use autohotkey for the the wasd-camera-movement. have to reorganize the hotkeys with autohotkey. thanks, bridger.
You know, if you feel you lose concentration while playing because you're trying to do some commentary, you could just save a replay and do the talking there. Also means you don't need to record every game you play.
@yuyuyu25 However, when commenting on the replay, you don't get the exact key selections, highlights, etc. that occured during the game. It definitely is a tradeoff, but Bridger is doing this for our edification and not necessarily as a purely competitive effort. I like the comment-while-you-play approach.
You sound like Tom Hanks soo much. LOL

@Bridger15 Weird I have a Logitech G9 and can't seem to figure out how to assign hotkeys to my mouse
how did you do it?
Ayrehead 6 months ago
I use grid keys as well but im pretty sure it has things bound to just keyboard keys....
how did you manage to bind things to mouse buttons?
maybe post a link to your actual grid key files if you altered them?
Thanks

Bridger you should use the shift key more so you can let your units do stuff with out you having to baby sit them (such as capturing territory)

Man,you should have used that sector arty at the 29 minute mark when you had him trapped inside his base.
Would have denied him for that strategic point for so long, would have also been Way more effective then the one earlier that killed 3 squad members.
Anyways,great video !
