  • Those were the days!!

  • Watched Kool and the Gang perform in Glastonbury ( on the telly) They were Still KOOL. The clip brought back some good memories.

  • 70's and 80's were the last years when music was real

  • jackson 5 <3

  • bowie bowie

  • Thanks for this great compilation. I was in a bar next to where Donna Summer was performing and she came in and started throwing a fit about 'don't you people know who I am?'. I then saw Daryl Hall perform and when he sang Sara he was crying and got down on hands and knees and was beating the stage while singing. We were like 'wow something is going on here'. The drummer from the Romantics was a great guy (he got me free tickets)!

  • I cannot believe I completely forgot "My Dingaling". Good grief.

  • I absolutely hate the music of my generation :P The 60s, 70s and 80s are DEFINITELY where the greatest treasure trove of music is found <3 70s

  • AMEN to that!!!!!

  • The guy playing the guitar to minni ripperton looks like one of the 10cc, anyway who was the woman after miss ripperton.

  • succ,, there are Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, ABBA, Boney'M etc??

  • ....I remember, in the 70's, reaching to change the radio station in record time when "Little Willie" and "My Ding-a ling" came on....eeek!....then there's real music.... Kansas, the Eagles and ELO!

  • sweet sweet sweet .. this video made my day ... awesome, awesome, awesome

  • Is there anything better than being able to relieve your teen age years? I don't think so. Thank you so much for the memories

  • now they are all bathing apes

  • One of the biggest record selling female artists of the 70s you have seemed to miss.........remember LINDA RONSTADT?

  • this is good shit

  • 1967 mustang and 40 cents a galloon gas in the early 70s

  • The Super Seventies !!

  • Aaah when Musicians were living humans and everything was recorded to tape by engineers dressed in lab coats.

    Miss the 70s sao bad.

Least it's all still on vinyl.

  • Hey score I hear you...I want to go back as well.......But we do have this...I am a middle aged mom.....and my kids are yelling at me.....Turn the music down,,because I keep coming back here to youtube to the 70's oldies,,,,,Thanks for the posts....We can still go back there I have been home all day listening to oldies....Have fun!

  • @Kathyscv Oh gosh Kathy , I know what you mean , I miss those days myself, we had our problems then but the music made up for a dozen times over, God bless rock and roll!

  • watch?v=46CNp89_52Y

  • AAAHh you must put the name of the songs

  • R.I.P Richard Harris

  • I enjoyed Richard Harris's original Macarthur Park better than Donna Summer's cover version

  • Excellent except how can you go thru the 70's (on both parts) and not feature at least one song by the super group ABBA?

  • In away if it wasnt for the music sucking so much today exspicially rap. Then the music from the magic 20 years 65-85 wouldnt sound so damn good.

  • @EnglshRoc In my opinion, you've got a point. In my opinion, due to today's UNFORTUNATE "decline in GENUINE or RARE music," the '70s AND '80s sound BETTER THAN EVER!

  • Thanks for the post.

  • R.I.P. Michael, you were the best Jackson.

  • What is the name of the song at 3.48? I know the song, but I can't remember the title and singer of it.

  • @iemandone Brother Louie by The Stories

  • great music and lots of memories.. nothing like music you can actually sing to thanks for the trip to the past

  • The seventies where music and artists were not factory manufactured to be cute and sticky sweet like today. Real music with real people singing their own music. Shame we all had to grow old and have to deal with the changing times and little in the way of good songs.

  • i feel so sorry for the kids today, they'll never know what REAL music was!

  • @dee63628 the diversity

  • @dee63628 Excuse you? I know what real music sounds like, and it sounds a lot like this.

  • @dee63628 Sure, the African American population migrated from known for Funk to known for Rap, and then the little white kids are sucked in, trying to be gangsters, listening to the trashy Rap songs that talk only about sex, money, and drugs with words so vulgar they make me wonder if their parents know what they're listening to, but I am only 13 but I am lucky enough to KNOW these songs are the best there ever was. I only wish more people would get it. I agree with your statement.

  • What a trip! Thanks mucho.

  • awesome collection dude...thx!!

  • the 70s ruled.

the 90s were pretty good too.

  • the jackson 5

  • Its great been middle aged!!! you obviously don't have great grandchildren to dote on....Poor you

  • y los titulos?

  • @tothemoonnback BIG THANKS!

  • whats the title of the song? 4:37

  • @thekamelkamel 4:37 is TSOP by MFSB..the sound of philadelphia by mother father sister brother

  • @thekamelkamel "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)" is a 1974 hit recording by MFSB (Mother, Father, Sister, Brother) featuring vocals by The Three Degrees. A classic example of the Philadelphia soul genre, it was written by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff as the theme for the American musical television program Soul Train, which specialized in African-American musical performers. The single was released on the Philadelphia International label.

  • Yes! This was our era! It was great!!! Every day, week, month, seemed like something new and cool was on the radio!

  • - seeing Mich Jagger from Rolling stones , I think about a poor monkey keeps on singing !

-seeing Joan Bayer with her guitar , I think about a homeless hooker on the street of New Orleans .

  • after watching this,,,,,,thank god for the sex pistols and the ramones,,,,

  • yeah blondie!

  • Where the heck was ABBA in all this? You missed the one band who topped them all... naughty naughty hehe.

  • @pspboy7

Both ABBA and BoneyM are missing !!

  • enjoyed

Who's the king who gets the queen play with his Ding A Ling? him too. thanks man always in pursuit for the real music fuck money and mainstream.

  • My Ding-a-ling sung by Chuck Berry :-)

  • awesome clips best songs ever

  • Macarthur's Park has got to be one of the most um....weirdest....everybody wondering what in the world is it about....songs I have ever heard in my life!!!!!! But Donna Summer was always ok- now she is a Christian and I am too!

  • Hi kittenrenea, yes, im aware the song is abaout Beatty. Thanks.

  • the song was about a news story , i think a cake was actually found in Central Park, mysteriously left there so they wrote a song about it

  • or even in Maccarthur Park der sorry

  • hey! thanks for the info....do you like the song? well, that sure is odd-do you know if anything was written on it, like 'Happy Birthday' or someone's name- maybe someone sat it down while they did something and then forgot it...I don't think I would write a song about a cake left in a park... that is weird in itself, if you ask me (nothing against Donna, of course)!!! :)

  • The song is more about the loss of love and the cake melting in the rain is a metaphor for that. Listen to the original.

  • @crazyhorse99999... thanks- that makes sense- kinda felt that it was something like that after the fact... but it is very strange to me and alot of people- you know, Donna is still singing these days.... take care :)

  • great period of time, love it!!

  • It sucks being middle aged, but growing up in this decade of music was unbelievable.

  • @scorefor4

    rodger that..

  • @scorefor4 quit your fu cking whining dude. you can't be 19 forever. I am 22 and when I am "old" like you I am not going to bitch on websites about it. Get a fucking wife, a life, put down some roots and find meaning in life. you are sucked into society's obsession with youthfulness...contribute to the fucking world and widen your focus...you are hung up on age issues and it is fucking sad.

  • @RadicalNotion phuk you young brainless phuks

  • @scorefor4

Yep it sure does, but growing up with the best music ever is great compensation.

  • It was a different world back then kids. The music, the politics, gas shortages, cigarettes were 35 cents a pack,we never dreamed gasoline would be higher than 80 cents a gallon. The good ole days !

  • she is the queen and i'm the king and i h=will let her play with me den den den

  • Cool...cool...cool!!!!!

  • We should write new 70s songs now.

  • Haha, I agree! Or at least write songs that had as much passion... I wanna kick people when I think of the crap that my generation and younger ones are accepting as musical talent these days. It gives me this eerie Stepford vibe.

  • whats a stepford vibe.

  • I'm specifically referring to the "Stepford Wives" film (1975). The basic idea applies. There's just an emptiness that seems to pervade the music world today, like it's more about appearances and fitting in. In the end it's all just there to serve the interests of big corporations. There's no passion, individual nuance, or creativity. It's all empty smiles and perfectly-coiffed hair (or empty sneers and perfectly-mussed hair, for the less mainstream, emo/scenester kids). Puke.

  • ok.i understand,,,"i think"

  • thanks for putting GREASE in the this mix!!!
