@CaptainCrunchityzer never played it but check out a video for it. it looks ok but i like a shm -up with a good story. if you follow the story of R-type its crazy cool.
To think that slowly we are losing this types of games to cute-them ups. Instead of bad-ass ships like this, vic viper, and R-9a your flying girls what have you done Japan!
Upon finishing this awesome game quite awhile ago, you'd somehow find yourself playing this game again? That's how good of a replay factor that Soldier Blade has it. If you are a Shmup fan of such games like Final Soldier, Super Star Soldier or Blazing Lasers? Then Soldier Blade is one of the best. ^_^
Soldier Blade is one of the best verticle ship games within the shmup relem. Best 600 points you could ever spend on the Wii's virtual console service.
Agreed 100%. I can't stop playing this no matter how many times I beat it on Hard. The soundtrack helps a lot too I find, just how it pumps the player full of adrenaline, especially at the later levels. It's awesome!
I urge anyone with a Wii to get this game for the Virtual Console! After all, people got a Wii to have fun, so why pass this up? :)
damn, right!!!. The Wii is starting to kick major ass against all the other systems. The Konami Rebirth collection is a great example. Nevertheless, i am getting my butt to the local Gamestop and i am buying a points card so i can purchase this awesome looking shooter :)
( forgive me if this posted twice) I really like your videos, it seriously reminds me of a old child hood game Axely and Lightning force. Since its for the pc it also reminds me of the game Nova Storm, it had sucky SFX but the music was awsome.
I really enjoyed this. The music's not as bassy (or loud) as Final Soldier, but it's still great in those respects. That was really suprising and cool for the canyon split into two to reveal a mechanized trail. It's really rare to see flickering in a PC Engine game. I don't know, but I think I find this one's gameplay BETTER.
Oh yes, Digimon...is the sound desynced in the video? It sounds like some of the sound effects do not match up properly. You have died four times at the mid-level boss. I counted for you. Now here is where Stage 4 has my favorite music.
Defenitely one of my faves on TG-16. I remember the first time I picked this up back in the day. Totally blew me away and up there in my top 10 shooters of all time. One of my fave moments is the ship passing over you in stage one dropping small ships on your left and right. I have the PC Engine HU myself so I won't download it, however those with the Wii VC need to download this gem.
This game is really awesome on Normal. On hard, this game is near godly! Anyone who hasn't gotten this on the VC is truly missing out on an amazing experience.
Is it just me or did the PSN version not sound right? Maybe just my TV.

All that arcade-quality goodness in a single Hu-Card? What an injustice that we didn't get that kind of games here in the USA.

The Sequel to this is Star Soldier Vanishing Earth because Duoss 3.3 is the first boss and its complete form is the final boss in Vanishing Earth.

@MaxK18 and it's not even that hard. Thank god.
If Touhou was on Virtual Console people would complain about how difficult it is.

This game was so technically amazing when it came out in 1992. Check out the high res mode.

This is one of the most overlooked games in history. It's a shame, because it's also one of the best shooters out there...
