  • Lol that fan was glowing nearly white hot... Last 2 seconds: Rest In Peace camera man, you will be remembered!

  • What are you using to fuel the engine?

  • Comment removed

  • While the MRS watches the soaps.........! I like this, LOTS, well done

  • How do you controll RPM?

    THX

  • @kandos1986 On a jet engine? There isn't any RPM there's just a fuel to air ratio

  • @Yotsubaism yes there is , the turbo does have a shaft with turbine blades on it and they turn, therefore you mesure its speed in rpm ............... how do you not know this -_____-

  • @Yotsubaism Front fan, compressor rotors, turbine... something tells me there is :)

  • So how do I get one to attach to a bike? Or a go cart?

  • now thats a hell of a fast hairdryer...

  • So I don't know anything about jet engines. From what some of the comments are saying, it's not supposed to have the flames or operate the way it is? Or is working about the way it should be?

  • its good for the engine when it starts smoking right?

  • 1.06 looks like engine flameout

  • This homemade jet engine is still awesome.

  • ONE WAY TO KILL A TURBO and plus WOOO ROAST CORN !!!!

  • great job...i think the camera man got fucked towards the end...vid ended abruptly....

  • да это фен... че вы сразу?)))

  • What is the proposed application of this engine?

  • with a old turbo, yes you can

  • But willl it blend?

  • Gosh, that thing spins fast!!

What's the maximum RPM of it?

  • You are ruining the turbine by not warming it up and ESPECIALLY cooling it down properly!

  • @PredatorDK explain why please.

  • @circusboy90210 Same as when the turbo is mounted on a car. Metal doesn't like to heat up or cool down too fast, it can make the housing crack, deform the blades and ruin the bearings.

The turbine gets extremely hot when running (you can see how it glows) but also blows the heat out. Stopping it this fast without letting it run for a while at lower rpm's stops the airflow (cooling), traps the heat inside the housing and make it rise rapidly.

  • @circusboy90210 If you read the owners manual from a car with turbo charging you will most likely see that they recommend letting the engine idle for about 60 seconds before turning it off if the car has been driven at high speed, to let the turbo cool down... And that is at significantly lower rpm's! ;)

  • haha..awesome one..

  • Now strap it to your back!

  • excelent, its a powerfull machine

  • will it blend ?

  • turbine is probably spinning at over 20000rpm, doesn't look like it has any sort of protective shroud, and he's standing beside it without any safety glasses. Potential candidate for darwin award right there.

  • @shadowym1 not saying he shouldnt be wearing safety protection but its a turbo...its designed to be spinning at close to 100k rpm probably.

  • where are your EAR PLUGS?!

  • i was wondering, when the plane starts to crack out of the garage.... :-))

  • bet ur neighbors are wondering what the hell's going on over at ur place!

  • it's working! IT'S WORKING!

  • anakins new engine

  • is that even producing any thrust?

if so how could you stand behind it, film it from behind? and what is holding it to the table? doesnt look like its held down at all..

  • sounds like its powerering up like in dragonballz

  • now just attach that to ur car and watch the gas bill skyrocket XD LITTERALLY

  • wat a nce

  • good in rice cooking

  • Finally! something to shot with my homemade rockets!

    On: So fking awesome!

  • whats the bill gonna be at the pump now

  • Randy?

  • so this is why my mechanic takes so long to fix my car... and my bill for labor is so much! :D

  • I wouldn't stand that close to it....Brave souls!!! Ever heard of remote Sensing!!! Geez!!!

  • Good ventilation?

  • Hey man , what material did you make the combustion chamber out of?

Did you manufacture it yourself ? can you provide any suggestions on how to make a chamber?

  • Can this power RC jets?

  • holy fuck i love the sounds

  • At some point, I plan on building a jet-powered boat with twin turbines. I'm figuring about a 16 or 18 foot aluminum hull boat. I've built a couple of jetboats, but not a true 'jet-boat'. So, that's my next project!

  • witch prison?

  • how much fuel he burn doing this?

  • Now that is one loud shop heater!

  • sounds like 777-300ER GE-90

  • As I'm watching this demonstration, there's a hot chick with a nice pair of boobs advertising for T-Mobile to the top right of the screen; and I just cannot determine who's hotter!...I'll go ahead and choose the jet engine since I can use the heck out of it without any discrimation!!!!

  • Two Words can describe this:Fuck Yeah!!

  • i think it sucks that the big jet engine maanfactures wont build jet engines for the public at affordable prices and the greedy airlines are hogging all the fun. it doesn't seem fair.

  • ......who would dare too get tht close to a homemade jet engine....oh wait..nvm they would dare too

  • congratulations, you've created a really powerful leaf blower.... Fall beware.

  • May I politely ask you to build me one of these...I wouldn't have the first clue on how to build one...not for any real reason....just that it's fuckin sick

  • lol thats nutz

  • 876mph wow faster than the speed of sound. you would be dead before you kinew it

  • @madmax598 or heard it

  • ha ha ha ha, he is just trying to make his neighbours believe that he has a boeing in his garage.

  • @qazibasit

    great! :)))

  • @aeligos looks like he trusts his own work. and where do you get a shield? home depot?

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was wondering.

    How do u start it?

  • thats no jet anything..its a friggen car turbo with some propane going thru it...hahahah fail

  • @heybulldog13 Do you know what a turbo jet is? Fail =P

  • sounds like someone is going bat shit crazy on one of those tube whistle things you'd get at birthday parties .....they all went weeeEE.....WEEEE.....WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • you are lucky that your stand didnt fly off.

  • How to you get the smoke ? :O

  • @MrCarbonFighterPro smoke is due to incomplete combustion. :)

Instead of the combustion of the fuel making CO2 and H2O (carbon dioxide and water), It's making C and H2O (carbon/soot and water) because not enough oxygen is being burned with the rest of the fuel.

  • red hot.

    very inefficient probably.

    no rear cone.

  • I don't care about performance. It spins real fast and makes a sweet noise.

  • That's a good blender

  • how to inject the fuel and get a spark?

  • @animal1386 spark plug, propane is usually the fuel of choice.....fuel pressure usually dictates the speed and power of the jet.

    @crocodile2006 no carbon monoxide buddy.

  • you should make a pod racer

  • Carbon Monoxide anyone?

  • put it on a go cart!

  • turbo charger...

  • wats the point all i see is a turbo with fuel going threw it to make flames even if u get a nice blue burning flame how is it going to make power ? r u saying that a jet engine is prepeld by air? then fuel goes threw it? i dont know much about a jet but i know a little about a turbo i just dont see how it would make power pleese dont tell me the air that is charged threw the front and exited out the back is what makes the power on this setup?

  • @alexerstube The fuel ignites behind the turbine propeller to give a faster spin, the faster the spin, the more airflow, the more airflow, the faster a craft is propelled. So yes a Jet is propelled by air or more to the point exhaust gas.

  • @UntouchableTAK because he fucking can

  • @aeligos Dude should stand with all body parts that he wants to keep outside kill lines.

  • i would like to have him build one for a Long E-Z!

  • i was just about to say, fit an afterburner... and then I read description.

  • i can tell by the color of the turbo casing that you've gotten this REALY hit lol

  • Don't mind the fumes...

  • That would have been funny if it would have taken off and flew out the door.

  • looks fucking awesome, but why you making this?

  • Now integrate that into upward trust (a rocket) and post the vid...

  • It is extreme dangerous but very very attracting and fun to do....maybe comes in handy when your hair drier breaks?

  • Try To put your face at the engine...!!

  • That is really cool like they way you throttle it up and down and like the sound your jet made as you were spooling it up when starting.

  • i was just waiting to hear that BAAANNNGG!!!!

  • speed of sound : 343.2 meters per second .1,236 Kilometers per hour.

speed of light : 299,792,458 meters per second ... or 1,079,252,849 Kilometers per hour

  • Hasnt really moved from its position.

  • Hasnt really moved from its position.

  • one day i will madke one of those, a small model of a crj with actual parts and a real engine like that without al the other stuff.

  • I have a motor integrated into the flip-flops for real fun to move the walls ...

  • what no afterburn?

  • It would be very easy to construct a shroud around an engine like this, to guard against possible debris in the event of a structural failure

  • @guisrt1 - GOOGLE TRANSLATOR. LEARN IT - USE IT - LOVE IT.

  • Good evening friend! you can tell me where I get the scheme to make the turbine flames cave? thanks

  • Boa noite amigo! vc sabe me dizer onde consigo um esquema para fazer a turbina espelir flamas ? obrigado

  • infact the turbine speed of an jeyt could be about 800mph to 900mph some planes pass over the speed off light that means you passed over 1000mph so if you were in a plane that traveled in speed of light the flyng chunck of an metal hiting you you only decres few secounds so if it did hit you it would cut you in half or the parachute so if you are riding a plane on speed of light (i wodnt sugest to) and it exploded you have 20% of chances to servive and 80%to die

  • @guisrt1 I presume you mean the speed of sound dude, if a plane passed over at the speed of light you wouldnt see it....doh ! speed of sound roughly 770 MPH

  • @tallred49 Where's the ground crew to signal a Engine fire when you need them :P

  • I wonder if this guy's ears work anymore >.> (no ear protection so close...)

  • you need a better turbine, one that is hea resistant

  • You can turn any car turbo into a running jet engine!

  • nobody's a better friend than a guy that lets you stand right behind his home made jet.

    :)

  • hahahaha he said it was going to go right in his face... SKEET SKEET SKEET

  • These are cool and all but really just a heated burning Turbocharger. You would have much more fun building a more realistic gas turbine, there are many plan kits out there and awsome books on how it's done. They are lighter and produce alot of thrust, but require some machining to complete. Cheers, IC.

  • Does it go on its own if you stop giving it compressed air?

  • It doesnt seem to produce much thrust.

  • well................ certainly a way to get the workshop warmed up! would love to build one if i had the time and resources.

  • I would not say compressor stall. It looks like the exhaust cone is restricting to much air flow and not allowing the engine to spool up fast enough to start properly and reach a stable idle speed. Open it up a bit, it will run better.

p.s. all that fire in the begining of the start is a bad thing.

  • 34 people from your neighbourhood watched this

  • Does it look like those puffs are a compressor stall to anyone else?

  • im sure they built this out of a volvo

  • Cool !but they are IDIOTS.Look at the combustables lieing around.

  • lol is dangerous!!!

  • Is that a Garret?

  • Dude... are you Batman?

  • @MagnesiumAlloy no he too fat xD

  • @xdanano Thats really mature. Go stick your head down the toilet and make your mother flush.

  • i want that in my car

  • Does this mean I can build a private jet in my back yard?!

  • all of the sudden big flame comes out of exhaust and camera guys hair is gone

  • how do you turn a truck/ car tubo into that. how long would the compressor wheel take before it dies.

  • you realy need to limit the intake at a certain point so the fuel will have the proper ratio.......you are leaning out

  • i love the final spool up then is gets really smooth

  • Yea! put the rubber glove in the hot exhaust stream! As hot sa it is,Did you see the flames leaking from the seams? Can you spell Hand Granade?

  • How much hp is that fucker putting out?

  • Just wondering, what fuel, and can they be throttled with a regular ball valve?

  • Do you run it off of the same jet fuel that airliners use?

  • 100% ghetto

  • thats some cool afterburn!!!! O.o

  • Good morning Dave how can I fry you?

  • he would be dead if there was a blade off incident

  • @mcinty12 It is built out of a vehicle turbocharger. The way they are constructed, there are no individual blades.

  • If that thing came apart while you were standing there; this video would be way cooler.

  • THIS IS AWESOME!

BTW how much RPM does this thing have on idle?

  • how much thrust?

  • How much thrust does this thing have? What could it push?

  • OMG that sounds amazeing....i love it..please redo in HD with better cam...would be sweeet!!!!

  • nice to see this but the turbo should go dead soon or later!!!

  • Can you tell me what you made to make it start like that?

  • Haha, its Randy from my name is earl

  • Hey I got a bright idea let me stand directly behind a small scaled jet engine and record it with my camera :D....dumbass!

  • Cold Jet STVS RC? See aviation history's 1st flight tests of Stealth, Tailless complete yaw-pitch-roll thrust Vectoring flight control, with no aerodynamic control surfaces but maximized safety RC. It took place in Israel in 1987 and reported on May 18, 1987 by Aviation Week. Video in a Facebook cite ["Benjamin Gal-Or"] shows how the 100-years-old, stall-spin-dangerous flight control is replaced with much safer, lighter and simpler designs for Civil and Military aviation.

  • theses homemade jet engines are really sick dude! (although i made a retarded VTEC just kicked in comment on the other :/)

  • you should hold like a wooden stick behind it, see if it goes up in flames :P

  • what turbo charger where you using?

  • he might be the maker of the iron man suits for the up coming iron man 3

  • Great!!!

  • what are you useing for a starter

  • its pretty smooth 4 a home made one

  • I wish I had the time and money ;(

  • @schott2828 for starters just buy a turbo from a scrap yard

  • i shall buy this, and build the ironman suit *serious face* no but seriously, thats pretty awesome, keep updating and adding more vids

  • hjow long did it take you to make the engine? How long will it take just to make a smaller version and do you need a whole where house to make one?

  • How did the after burner come along?

  • Thats freaking awesome.

  • What are you using for fuel control? I really want to build one of these.

  • show me the running gas turbine

  • Videos named "home made" categorized in "Guides" should be really guides about HOW TO build these stuff, not demonstrations.

  • looks like a turbo with a cherry bomb on the end of it

  • He probably just put the camera back there, without standing behind it. These guy's aren't idiots, you have a scoped perspective.

  • U guys are sum idiots. Its gonna get too hot one of these days and blow the fuck up in your face. And the camera man's dumb ass.put a plexy glass wall around it.dosnt take that much common sense but i guess you guys are pros at standing next to a handbuilt turbo engine.

  • @123whitebizzle if they can build that there not that dumb

  • Cool. But this engine has not stable flow of gas. Surge could destroy the shell and hard any around. One more question - where your turbine? Forsage camera just increase a engine thrust. Actually, you create a complex: electric compressor and forsage camera. Where is turbine(for standalone compressor)? where is combustion chamber? Anyway you make great work. Cool.
