  • Its down stream of the sewage plant, swim to your hearts content.

  • Wasn't so funny for my friends on acid that were screaming from "chemical" burns.

  • is it true that no one here drinks or smokes or anything at shambhala?

  • @JPdab hahaha! i went with a group of people and we drank and smoked our faces off... and did a bunch of drugs.. so fun

  • lol i was working main medical i wonder who u are

  • The retards who post on Youtube make me laugh. People will hate everything. I have attended for 5 years, worked first aid and I LOVE THE FESTIVAL. Why don't you people who judge what calls paramedics attend are "worthy" of go out and do the things that get you hurt and hope the paramedics that shows up to scrape you off the road aren't judging your stupidity. Whatever makes you sleep at night.

The green river was a stupid prank, end of story.

  • haha i know who did this

  • Hey, if the green stuff is "non-toxic" I'd like to see the a**hole who dumped it in the river drink the stuff!

  • @JoshMan522 Actually the RCMP caught him and didn't press charges because it was actually harmless chemicals.

  • They probly did it, in a effort to show just how long, it takes for the water to wash things away, and with everyone in the water, how polluted it was getting by the people.

  • Well, I think its trippy.

  • Didn't they bring in more cops this year because the Triads were starting to get into the drug trade in Shambhala?

  • @CowsXonXcrack lol no what are you talking about... obviously with 13,000 ppl a couple cops need to be present

  • @KushPizzaSleep lol know how to read. I said "Didn't they bring in MORE cops this year (More than previous Shambahlas) because the Triads were starting to get into the drug trade?" Fuckin retard.

  • @CowsXonXcrack Triads lol no there wasn't your insane

  • My buddy was the guy who took the bags of dye out of the river. He took them to security, and that was a whole trip in itself. long story short, he almost got arrested and booted out of shams, but the police apologized and he got a shirt that says Shambhala Warrior on it.

  • dude that is fucked. haha everyone on acid would be tripping more balls than already

  • thats still pretty fucking stupid

  • Bahaha I gotta say I was high for my very first time on shrooms then the river turned green. I don't think I could have had a better trip :P

  • @salmovillian sham sold the most tix they ever have this year, sold out @ 10,000. just so u kno its nothing insane like 20k. that would be crazy

  • my sis was there first time got one of thoae weird hat thingys so cool the ppl where like u can walk through it but don't like swim in it she's like shit no she said it was so much fun and that part was the trippyest

  • I was at the beach when this happened, an these two poor bastards were takin a nap on a little island completely surrounded by green water, before everyone knew it was non toxic everyone was yelling at them "Wake up! Get out of the River! Get the **** out of the river!" haha they were so mangled on somethin I can only imagine what it would be like to wake up to at least 50 ppl yelling at you!

  • its safety marker die for when a ship sinks -- helicopters can find the people in the water

  • ...and they closed the river and the stage because of it. UNcool prankster!

  • i dont think going into a small community of people in the kootneys (many who get their water from wells) and dumping anything in the water, let it be non toxic colours or otherwise, is going to look very good on anyone at shambhala. you mix the fact that people down river have to see the rave from far fucking away, plus the head on collisions and police population aspect, and you have the makings for the end of the annual event.

iv enjoyed many shambles, but this is different... and im sad.

  • @illfedskitofit wow it was there for like... a day. It was trippy but everyone was on the same page. Not gonna end an event like that. Not a chance.

  • @steo9119 The water was green for about two hours. I left the beach and went to the Hip Hop showcase and it was clear by the time I got back. This killed the beach vibe for a bit, but the beach vibe was golden again shortly after this happened.

  • Wow, there is so much hate, those people are the kinds of people that should not be at shambhala, its about love and the joy of music and dancing... plus, it was a NON TOXIC dye that someone put in the river THINKING they were being funny. they messed up the schedule for the livingroom stage and made a lot of people very un happy. Way to go guys!

  • Thats terrible.

  • I hereby hijack this comment thread from the negativity and name calling to say that every year (and this was year 11 for me) Shambles gets better, it is the peak of my summer, and I love you all.

  • @SplendidImaginings haha i know who did it!

  • @salmovillian & IveGotTheNuts: In the spirit of Shambhala lets keep the nasty comments to ourselves.

  • @tvbnation Ive never been to Shambhala AND probably never will. Just came on here cause i HEARD THE RIVER WAS GREEN. i COULD CARE LESS WHAT YOU ALL THINK AS IM A TRUE LOCAL. i WAS JUST POINTING OUT TO Salmo villian that Salmo and this area has had a cocaine infestation long before Shambhala came around. Let the kids do what they want they do not bother me. I like the bussiness it brings to our community yet Ill never go to that party. Im tired of the regular drug people not Shams.

  • @IveGotTheNuts HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Off with the crackhead jokes again? 35 years old and still cant have a respectable discussion reasonably without calling somebody a crackhead or a loser. Should be proud of yourself :D Grow up you old man and act your age.

I rest my case. Like i said, dont say anything unless you have something intelligent to say.

  • @salmovillian Look dude or SISTER your name says it all. And your first comments explain your pompous attitude. Move to Skookumchuck if you do not like Shambhala

  • bahahaha this tripped me out hardcore

  • @IveGotTheNuts Yes I have been to the trailer park (wildwood) in Salmo. Thats possibly the only place where you will find a redneck skid. And too keep long story short I would have to say that Fruitvale and Trail are the biggest shitholes around.. Salmo doesnt even come close. LOL and keep pointing out people that you assume are crackheads or rednecks. Your really only making yourself look like the dumbass. Dont comment unless you have something intelligent to say.

  • @PseudoLady

From what I heard though they were saying non-toxic in the video, nobody really knew. I heard something about automotive air-conditioning UV Dye, and that's seriously the right colour for that, and it's not really something you want to be in/covered with.

  • @filmmetoo-no shit that's what paramedics do...but they could be attending call outs to people who are a lot more worthy of their services. Car accidents, heart attacks, etc...I'm sure it's frusterating having to witness so many retarded acts causing bodily harm; especially overdoses.

  • The Chicago River is the same colour on St. Patrick's Day... Been doing it for decades...

The best Shambhala for me since 2004, it will get better, notice security? They were harder this year on average, fenced in the site, people will be people, it is up to us to all do our part. Idea: buy all the tickets before they do, voila! Idiots won't be there...

  • whoever did that was an ass. even if it was non toxic, that's not something people should even think of doing.. especially not at Shambhala. it definately ruined my day at the beach.

  • haha. i love everyone hating on shambhala ..!! its a sad sight for sure .. too many albertans and americans , drugs, skids, and bad vibes.. not too mention overpaid djs. The saddest part of shamblahblah is that the nelsonites (myself included) have to deal with a bunch of broke, smelly hippycrites bumming around nelson for weeks after the festival. Hope it ends soon. or relocates to alberta.

  • @jereddevries

i'm thinking it's now getting too big for it's intended audience

the pictures and stories i've heard from the 2002-2006 parties were fantastic (did not go), but nothing like my experiences with 2007-2010. Don't get me wrong, it's a great place and i have a lot of fun, but damn people need to be a lot more responsible

the endless Affliction and Ed Hardy t-shirts weren't there three years ago either.

Along with these t-shirts comes bros, hos, and tweaked out schmos.

  • @streetxlite Yeah, the party has gotten a lot bigger, but I think a lot of the people (Ed Hardy/Affliction) at Shambles is partly because of the fan crossover many of the DJs bring. Bassnectar and Excision now have huge fan bases consisting of electronic fans, headbangers, gangster wannabes, etc, etc. The same can be said of subvert, Vibesquad and other acts at Shambles.

Unfortunately, Shambles will never be as small and intimate as it once was, but it is still an unbelievable time.

  • @jereddevries I live in the Kootenays and Shambles and I look forward to it every year I can attend. Tons of good vibes go out during the festival and I have nothing but good memories so far. There is smelly "hippycrites" YEAR ROUND in Nelson and not just during and after Shambhala. Here is to many more years of the best music festival on the planet!

  • @rockironful

about the nelson hippies : TRUTH

  • @jereddevries Same thing in salmo too buddy.

  • @jereddevries i actually have great friends from alberta, and family in the states .... i was just trying to fuel the rants. . ..( but seriously though, if the festival started regressing back to its roots, i think everyone would be pumped. There is a lot of potential for amazing times, but its too bad to see it shifting in the other direction .

  • it was all natural bio degradable food coloring, no chemicals =)

  • I live in the East Kootenays & have family that live in Salmo. All I can say is I feel very sorry for them every year durig Shambhala. Two of them are paramedics and always get called out to help morons who hurt themselves or OD at Shambhala.

  • @81Kootenaykid Stop being such a pussy. They're paramedics that's what they do.

  • @filmmetoo thank you filmmetoo somebody got bals hey kootenay fruit they got jobs don';t they

  • @81Kootenaykid Yeah, its crazy here dude. i hate it. My Friend's mother is a Paramedic and yesterday i heard over 20 sirens.

  • Sit there and behave? or Dance and get a lil rowdy and do stupid shit?

  • As i have been a resident of Salmo for 13 years, and have been to shambhala (dont go anymore) seen this happen year after year... So dont tell me otherwise like "OOO it was only the one idiot, dont blame shambhala and ruin it etc etc... FUCK THAT SHIT. Ive had security their ask me at the gates "you have any drugs or booze?" I said no, but funny thing is he was like " O dont worry, you will find lots of that inside." LOL wtf do u think all the people are gonna do when their all fucked up?

  • @salmovillian i knwo what you mean, its so crowded at the esso and subway its INSANE!

  • Ya I wish shambhala would fuck off aswell. Every year all it brings is trouble. People too fucked up on drugs who cant stay on their own side of the road, loiters (from across the country) who sit in front of stores begging for money to get a shambhala ticket which is pathetic, get hassled by the rcmp, irritate business owners, people selling shit drugs, people OD'ing... List goes on and on.

  • Shamabhala sucks balls and hopefully will eventually die!

  • I remember this. It was a harmless commercial dye pack. All it did was change the color

  • @alixyami MY ASS! it was like 3 boxes of it, it is Poisonous in large "doses"

  • Yea I was there for that. Unfortunately not everyone has a brain.

  • thats too bad... not to funny

  • it's all right to defile the water, eh? Anything to get a kick. Karma happens....fishy's and froggy's will be avenged!

  • who ever did this can f them selfs thanks for not respecting the locals

  • Disgusting!

  • yah thats good for the environment...

  • To clarify, when I said that the staff was "obviously unaware of what happened" (at 1:00), I meant that they looked unsure of what was happening. To me this indicated that it was an unplanned event.
