yes, Im sure it did, the captain also turned it around and tried to get out of the water as quickly as possible. I dont blame the british for sinking it, it was a war, but if I was in Thatcher's position I would of opted not to sink it, maybe try to capture it. It would have sent just as strong a message and saved lives.
