My boyfriend lives in Chicago, I get worried when there's a severe storm in his area. The siren sounds more menacing here than the one in Kentucky. o_O
There have been so many tornado sirens going off wherever I go (not literally but just sometimes) and I have not ONCE seen a real life tornado. If I get the chance, I'm going to get a part time job being a storm chaser.
Do you know what that flashing red light by the little u shaped drive in thing in the road is? It is to the lower right of where that main building in the center is.
@JMAN123436 There are two flashing lights at the entrance/exit of an underground parking lot right there; probably just a warning for pedestrians or a reminder for cars.
I've only been that high up in a building when I stayed in a hotel on the 16th floor and visited the stratosphere in Vegas. Never could I live on such a high floor. XD I complained about living on the 2nd floor in my old apartment. Crazy video, btw.
When I lived in Chicago over twenty years ago there were no sirens. It has been interesting to see where they have been installed when I visit there since.
Make sure to notice the white banding created from the lightning right after 0:48! The lightning is not that close but had a huge affect on the camera! Great post!
what kind of storm it is? Thunderstorm?

nick06111226 3 weeks ago
@nick06111226 I could be wrong, but possibly a Federal Signal 2001-DC in 'alert' mode.
jmarino3 3 weeks ago
@nick06111226 It's a 2001-DC in fast wail mode while the other ones are Federal Signal Modulators in alternate wail mode.

what tones and kinds are those sirens?
nick06111226 4 months ago
@nick06111226 The loudest wailing siren is a 2001 DC in Attack, and the other distant siren is a Modulator 6024 in Alternate Wail

I love the Chicago tornado siren videos. I keep expecting to see Batman swing down from a building.
