  • lol "and there she blows"

  • If you could get The New and Improved Generator to work than that would be that best generator.

  • sittin kinda low isnt it, u loose a lot of the winds potential. dont u?

  • Yes, you are right. It's a beautiful thing. It's a beautiful thing to create your own wind turbine to generate electricity whether for personal usage or not. In this way, you save a lot of money since you are the one producing your electricity using wind energy that is being converted by these wind turbines. This will lessen your bill dilemma each month on how you can pay your high electric usage. This can truly help you.

  • hey thats a great job sir, will you please sent me some information on how to make my own will wind genarator? i want to have that kind of at my house. to save money every month. what are the pasible tools or part i can use, to have that one. thanks a lot sir. this is my email add sir if you will "rise_up25@yahoo.com"

  • "Tell them their dumb"?

  • hey, I was joking, Wind generator, isnt that a fan...

Cool wind power generator, I do like it

  • like this video. See my home energy stuff using Rooftop Wind Turbines and solar panels on my roof. I won a Green Design Contest with my product on EarthDay

    PEACE

  • How can it be illegal to use wind power to produce electricity for ur own house, government doesnt own wind, such law is fake. I have no idea what could be the reasoning behind such law, do u know what are the reasons for this law? I mean this just doesn't make sense. Maybe it's illegal to use it grid tied, but you can set it up off grid. It is true that governments do no like people to be independent and self sustained, because they become free and don't depend or need nothing from government.

  • So how does it generate wind?

  • @walkertongdee it uses the wind to generate heat through spinning which is converted into power via the generator.

  • it's the mailman from cheers! I'm glad to see him still working these days.

  • Nice Video. A home wind generator can help you to lower or eliminate your home electric bill. Home wind generators are a great way to save money by lowering your use of grid supplied energy.

  • Dude, your video sucks! Get to the point! I don't want to hear some dumb ass song while I see pictures like, "green, green, green. or "final coat of paint". Stop patting yourselve on the back and thinking your a genius and get to the point!

  • @BrianStocking Brian if you dont like the video or the music just turn it off, its buttwipes like you with rude comments that need to shut up listen to what is being said or not said and let your peabrain work for the good of mankind instead of letting your mouth work letting everyone know what an idiot you really are.

  • freemicrosoftpoint[DOT]com for a working one...

  • ahhh this is a wonderful green machine, I hope you sell it in Peru, congratulations...

  • 2:35..... it should be "they're"....... "thier" is not only incorrect but also spelled wrong :-)

  • 'They're' is an abbreviation for 'they are'. - but yeh....you imply: "they are she blows" - urrnnghh!! There she blows is probably the most sensible term in this context as 'there' is implying an object - their is collective for 'their' blowing - i.e. a group of chicks are blowing you.. Then again yanks say 'get off of me' - such bad bad use of english it's depressingly empathic in its humour:/ I propose a new language for the 90% of yanks without passports - any ideas ppl?

  • @satchguy lol.... I don't even remember making that comment..... was probably in the middle of a drunken stupor..... love the vid though!!! Am building one of my own right now

  • in U.S is legal hook any generator wind and solar just you loss you mine????

  • speak english

  • that is the language you can speak boy?

  • and you starter lose you mine?

  • In U.S. it's illegal to hook ANY kind of generator (wind, solar, gas) to power company grid UNLESS it's UL approved, AND installation approved by local inspector so you don't kill yourself or power company's techs working on the line. I would think it's the same in Canada. Doesn't mean you can't(or shouldn't) power your own utilities after you disconnect them from power company hookup. Just don't fry yourself or burn your house down. Plant a few "Jamaican Tomatoes" as well. Northern Lights?

  • great work!

  • that looks like a homemade coil alternator. it's nice. please post some video of the design. PS that's also why it's illegal. NO CSA approval. It would be illegal in every province. And local electrical code would require you to jump through a lot of hoops to use that power , i face the same dilema with my homegrown wind turbine.

  • Are you frigin serious? Illegal to use home grown power? That is insane!

  • it is illegal, IF you connect it to your house while your house is connected to the grid, because you can kill workers DUH, unless its approved by elec company

  • IC I thought it was just plain illegal, I have a small home brew went turbine that charges a bank on batteries for my ham, I thought that would be illegal based on the vid. Thanks for clarification.

  • there are grants in usa to help you pay for things like that, and tax credits. if you do it how the local elec company tells you to. if you are NOT connected to the grid, then you can do whatever you want.

  • Any decent Grid tie-in will have a fail safe kill for if the grid goes down so does the power from the windmill.

Their not stupid and neither are we. We don't need "them."

  • love the porn music

  • Is this response from like a year ago?

So batteries are totally 'green' and require no maintenance? last time I checked a car battery was expensive and didn't last - windmills need HUGE batteries to back them up. we can't harnass wind on a large scale because it takes SO MUCH wind to make energy. It might work for a small part of a small house in a windy place, but to harnass and transport wind energy on a lar just doesn't work....we need to drill until we figure it outge scale

  • Dude I see wind energy in action every day. It is not in development any more it is a fact, it is here and it works, green or not it plain works. The generators can not store power and only produce when the wind is blowing (which is all the time here in West Texas). Oh by the way, every morning I feed the Drillers on the way to the rig and we are still drilling for oil.

  • Just -Dead -right-they are Dumb!!-BUIT -we elect them?

    Steve.

  • Great video. Seems to be working great!

  • Now WHY would this be illegal in Canada? Good job!

  • What you have to do is use the windmill to charge a bank of batteries to store the power. How many batteries depends on how much power you need to run the house.

  • nice work,thanks for posting

  • Try seaching on 'diy windbelt' on youtube and you will find a very entertaining and intstructable video on how to construct the humdinger windbelt :)

  • How do you get power when it isn't windy?I understand that you can't store wind energy -so if a town were to use wind,it would still need to back the wind power up. By the time you used the resources to build the windmills( lots of steel-because you need such massive windmills to prduce a significant amount of energy)and have a backup plan in place I don't think it is that 'green' anymore.

It is really cool that you built this, but i think this is proof that wind isn't ready to use large scale.

  • Umm... I don't know if you have heard but, there are these things called batteries and they can actually "store" energy. Pretty cool huh?

  • At the end, did you say, "Tell them that thier DUMB"?

    1. You misspelled THEIR

    2. It should be THEY'RE anyway.

And I had to mute the video.

O, but good work on the generator.

  • And your shit don't stink right? why not just enjoy the main product and stop being Mr Fucking perfect.

  • I am researching on how to make wind generators and I am familiar with allot of various designs. But my questions is what do you use to convert the kinetic energy into electric energy? ... What parts do i need on the windmill itself.... If you are familiar with a video that can teach me this then I would greatly appreciate it... GREAT VIDEO AND AWESOME MUSIK......

  • If you send a regular email address I can send you some info on making a permanent magnet generator.

  • hi thorman6,

congrets on making it so good. This wind mill is inspiring withh added feature of the governer. can you please send me the detalis how to make one for myself and also all the related information you would like to share. i will be very thankful.

  • I also made my own wind generator, but i am missing the real generator. ATM i am using a bike generator :P I think that i am gonna take a old car generator, any ways, very nice video

  • would be more benificial if it was higher off the ground.the higher the more the wind flowes without drag.but if you built a wind generator i guess you know that.just incase you forgot.looks very nice good job

  • So what power does it put out ?

  • Illegal? Can you please email the plans?

  • Great looking generator. I'm trying to build one for the cottage. Will study your video and try to duplicate it. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • where did you get the plans?

  • all over the internet. If you want a copy let me know. (no charge)

  • That would be awesome,I send you an email!!Thanks I pass the favor on!!!!

  • I want them please!

  • Illegal in Alberta??

...cos they want you dependant on the system - that's the one where the rich buy shares in the utilities and milk the ones who can't afford to buy the same shares but still HAVE to use consume

    It's a great system (if you're wealthy)

  • Rather than the generator itself what made me curious was the thing about being against the law!

Jeez... What in the hell are these people thinking?

Good work by the way. I always thought about building one of those... But living in an apartment makes things harder to me...

  • Yes

The power authority should make it easy to connect to the grid. I think it would encourage developement. I believe you can connect and get credited in many states and some provinces.

  • @thorman6 I was poking around on the internet one time, and someone told me that you can actually receive a government grant to build green energy systems, is that true? I'm looking to start building mine in the next couple weeks, and if it is true, that'd be a great help. I was already approved by building inspectors and our energy company to go through with it, they seemed very interested in the project.

  • From the looks of that you built you own generator?

what did you use to get the magnets rotating around the disk,

    and connected to the stand?

  • I think the VAWT system work better, but nice job and vote for better politics in you state and US, please!

  • WOW! ppl like you help save the world :)

  • how do u store the power generated??

  • The power is stored in automotive batteries.

  • how do u store the power generated??

  • you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

  • screw the governmemt ,time for revolution.

  • Cool. Really impressive work.

  • When fossil fuels become expensive enough everyone will be more friendly towards renewables. Just a matter of time.

  • legalize windpower THERE SHE BLOWS votehemp and get the oral oval office a review scenariobaby

  • alberta sucks!! outlawing a clean energy? bah hum bug on them

  • We all have our weaknesses. Mine is spelling and grammar, but I'm good at finding out if someone watches my entire video.

  • For boogyboo79:

Go to otherpowerdotcom and look for

"Furling Animation" under the dairies section. If you still have questions ask in their discussion board about the details. Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

  • Perhaps you mean "they're" instead of "their" - as in "they are".

  • Tell them thier Dumb, Dumb, Dumb. hahaha did you do that on purpose?

  • Great turbine. I'm working on trying to build my first turbine, though I think I'm making it much more difficult than it really needs to be. I do have one question if you don't mind me asking. How does the swinging tail work and is it hard to build? I live in the country and plan on putting my turbine on a 60' lattice tower and that tail idea I think would be great for what I'm doing. As of right now I don't have any way for it to furl in the wind. Thanks!

  • i thought the tail has to be flat, since if the wind bows on the tail, and straighten it out itself ?

  • very nicely done!

  • Laws like that can go suck it!

  • Uncle!

You did a very useful for the world, this is my favourite, also with my favourite song, too!!

    COOL!

  • What if your not connected to the grid, can you build one then.

  • sure

Best if you live out of town though. I set mine up so the neighbors kids would be out of the fall down zone.

  • Wind power against the law?????????? Holy hell!!!!

I made two turbines......I love them!!

  • Your kidding about Alberta illegalizing it right?..that is very backwards

  • You are not allowed to backfeed into the Alberta grid unless it is an industrial account and 10's of thousands connection fees. Some states and quebec allow grid tie inverters.

  • that sux not blow

  • Nice song

  • I like the size of this one, I would feel comfortable with this in my backyard. I live in Illinois, I hope these are legal here, because I would like to build a few of these and power my entire home with them. We get quite a lot of wind in the winter and spring months.

  • What happens to the wind once the windmill uses it? Ha Ha

  • nothing idiot,-_- im making one for my class out of PVC pipes ^_^ and no i didnt copy his idea of making my own i allready thought of it and came on yuotube for other ideas on how to make

  • The wind slows down and becomes turbulent. Hopefully your not the physics teacher in your class.

  • Good job. You need to get some height to catch the wind
