This concert was my first introduction to Mike Oldfield's music. This song still runs shivers down my spine for the amazgin sound composition. To you pipers: play on!
I was on stage, band is the royal scots dragoon guards, one rehersal in afternoon then performance at night, pipes on cd are electronic and slightly different key, if you look the drummers are out of sink. very good night though, excellent album !!!!!!!!
You should also have noticed the strange thing at 2:16 when the crowd is suddenly replaced by a military band! I'd love to know the origin of this particular video... This version of Tattoo I like the most.
Thanks for your reply Howstriks. I agree with you, it's a manipulation of the video I seem to think. But what about the music itself, it's different surely... It remains a mystery *sigh*
I guess this is performed in Edinburgh Castle, on the premier of the TB II in 1992. One thing I don';t understand is that I have the DVD of the above concert, but Tattoo in the DVD is different from this one! Can anyone please explain?
Why does this amazing song only have 10k views? It makes me feel like I've stumbled across a treasure that few people have even heard about, and an even fewer amount of people have seen with their own eyes.
Actualy the Militia marching band CFB Both Camp Borden and The horney lornes Oakville and Brampton used Tatoo one a Remeberance day to the March to the war Memorial,
Beautiful!:)

Siempre me ha puesto los pelos de punta. La adoro, y más ese momentazo de la aparición de los gaiteros al final.

Performed at the World famous Edinburgh Tattoo, hence the name, wish I had been there!
