I am an old school guy and I liked your riffs. Like many other metal players, Jabbs is a great picker. So is Brent Mason (lookem up if you don't knowem, an awesome country/jazz guitarist). yup, I did it myself but pretty much ruined it lol. it's a parts-guitar anyway. some of the frets are scraped in the upper register (I used a dremel rotary cuff to do the job) and some of the scallops go halfway into the inlays. but pfff. it really helps across the board. getting a good grip on the strings for vibrato, digging in for tapping and legato, and accurate fretting for alternate picking and sweeping. so to me it was worth it.
