  • Isn't the "detuning" done with banjo type Scruggs pegs or similar? They can be set for how much the string is detuned, I believe, so when Adrian hits a note and drops and retunes it, it is done very fast and precisely. When I first heard this it sounded a bit like a pedal steel guitar.

  • the detuning seems unecessary. still impressive tho

  • Takes me half an hour to tune up properly, and he messes with the pegs during a demo. Bastard! A whole demo of peg messing in fact. Bastard! He knows I love him really!!!!!

  • In my opinion this guy is the best ever ! saw him live 20 years ago and it was mindblowing what he can do

  • I have a love/hate feelingfor this dude . I love his picking but hate that it makes me want to give my guitars away. I have been playing for over 50 years and can count the guitar players on one hand that have blown me away like he does

  • I've loved adrian Legg for over 15 years now.

  • amazing, the negative almost obtuse remarks this video has received, and the polite retorts(good for you). If the ignorant critics had the slightest bit of appreciation, then they would "appreciate" this for what it is. Just close your eyes, listen, then shut the fuck up. If some dude was beating his guitar with a rock(the naysayers), and made it sound good, i wanna hear it, so please, numb ones, go listen to your A7X, and leave art to those who can appreciate.

    gotta love stereotypes...not

  • @asherasator

Go wash your mouth with soap.

    This guy is awesome.

  • Sounds like a lap steel guitar!

  • You know all these people who have the bad comments dont know what the hell they are talking about ... I have seen him as well and he has several things these bad comment people dont have ........He has released CD's that do well!!!! ...and you dont so that doesnt tell me much from your bad comments you people dont have any CD"s out so your comments dont mean shit to me

  • When i watch this guy i automaticly think hes warming up, From turning the tuning pegs. And who would leave bad comments on this guy? I dont think anyone does.

  • Amazing.

  • Totally dude....I was at that show with you....and we were throwing our own shit at each other....and you were EATING IT!!! It was SO COOL!!! And then....to top it off....I teabagged you and you drank my load!!! Oh my GOD!!! I'm so glad there's someone else out there who can understand my musical tastes....as well as the taste of my tapioca surprise!!! Thanks man!!

  • @jz881 Is it so hard to be civilized?

  • Grandad You Are Truly Amazing! These People That Speak Disrespectful Towards What You Love To Do Are Just Jealous That You Are One With The Guitar When You Play!

  • @CycloneHD

    THIS IS YOUR GRANDAD?

  • @VolcanicHD Yes This Is Ashley Mate :) Why?

  • very cool. be a bitch to tab.

  • I have not seen the comments that people are referring to, but as a hobbyist guitar player, I can see a true master when I see one. I got the chance to see Mr. Legg in concert in 2008 in Everett, WA and it was THE most amazing concert I have ever been to.

  • If people don't have the capacity to see the beauty in this, then it is their loss. No need to fight over youtube about it.

  • all the people talking shit about Adrian Legg in the comments should either post a response video of them playing anything near this awesome or shut their mouths. Anyone that can listen to something like this and talk negative about it is simply upset that they'll never be anywhere near as talented.

  • @DarkDoorFilms What shit? Either I missed it or ignored it. Either way I don't need an answer. Adrian plays as well as some day I dream I might

  • @mattdavgra Can't agree more. Some people are just clueless tarts. (Bieber - LOL).

  • @asherasator Your kidding?

  • @dannyhood66 No I'm not kidding, if ppl like this that's great, to me this is absolute garbage, he has a right to express himself anyway he wants & ppl can enjoy whatever they want, but my standards & what I call music are different. This is less impressive than somebody with a rubber band between their fingers twanging away stretching it back & forth, I wud find that more interesting.

I don't care if ppl don't like my comment & honesty oh well, this guy is at a kindergarten musical level

  • @asherasator I know it looks like he's tuning up messing around but he is making some music..And im sure he's talented at playing his style..I have to ask you anyways what guitarist do you listen to? I don't leave negative comments either if someone has different opinion than me, so its casual if you don't mind..I just discovered this guy ill check him out some more. My favorite new guitarist is buckethead..Before that i listened to a lot of hendrix devotees like mahogany rush and Uli jon Roth.

  • @dannyhood66 I saw him open live over 10 years ago & thought it was boring as hell, I'm just not into it. he's doing very simple picking & chord shapes then tuning up & down, if it was done a little & some real melodic or rhythmic content was going on for a while fine then it cud be an interesting technique. But to sit there & just do this shit as a main style is ridiculous. I can enjoy & tolerate a lot of music but this is something else.

  • @asherasator Did people in the audiance marvel over his playing just because it is different? lol.. Who did he open for?

  • @dannyhood66 He opened for Satriani if I'm remembering correctly, I'm not into Satriani but a friend had tickets & asked me to go. I don't know what the audience was thinking, he was just playing alone like a coffee shop thing after a while it was just lame. He raises & flattens notes almost like pulling & pushing a whammy bar

Any song from Django is good for that genre & he's really playing you know chords, scales etc. not just sharpening & flatting notes.

  • @dannyhood66 I like a lot of different guitarists & musicians from many genres e.g. Django, Uli Roth, Page, Blackmore, Malmsteen, DiMeola, John McLauglin, Jose Feliciano, Paco De Lucia etc. all kinds of stuff simple & complex depending on my mood.

  • @asherasator Thats cool, Ive heard that guy's name Django reinhardt'' mentioned a lot, have not listened to much. I recorded a video from PBS about 10 years ago of 2 guys playing a song from Django it looks like late 70s early 80s i think..I remember chords all over the place and crazy chromatic bass line on guitar backing the lead, happy but insane playing. Said tribute to Django reinhardt..I think one of the guys had his last name, im not sure..What is a good song from him playing 2 fingers..

  • @dannyhood66 I just watched a few other videos of him where he was actually playing music & was along the lines of honky tonk, his sharpening & flattening was sounding more like a slide guitar, when I saw him he was doing more like this video. His honky tonk is really no better than any others & average at best. Ppl make him out to be a genius & he's not. Roy Clark & Buck Owens from HeeHaw are better lol.

  • @asherasator Yeah Roy Clark was good..He shredded just about any country or rock player id seen back then on TV..

  • @dannyhood66 He played with the Hot Club Quintet. A lot of fine and fast finger/plucking/strummimg....a bit samey in the end but a tribute to hope over adversity

  • As usual too much artificial reverb (or whatever it is). It really muddies his sound and I wish he wouldn't use so much of it.

  • thank you very much adrian for the insperation,i`ve just buried my twangy tele in the back garden, the neck is sticking out ,so a tree might grow.

i`ve now gone back to playing the triangle.beat that!!!

very good sir and a pleasure to listen too.

  • Whoever flagged this as spam should be shot on sight.

This is awesome a true master at work here. If you cant see and hear that you have no sense of music whatsoever.

  • At what point was this considered music??

  • @deliquenme well what do you consider music..please say cannibal corpse or something equally distasteful.

  • @skylew11 I enjoy classical music, R&B, pop, folk, jazz, but this sounds like my neighbour singing in the shower, and trust me you don't want to hear him sing.

  • What's to be said in the face of such a superb talent?! Hours of this would work wonders on my blood pressure.

  • This is superb, a master of his instrument and I master craftsman to boot. Dug out my old vinyl copy of Pass the valium!

  • Nobody cares for the tablature on this one :-) You can't write down this piece of music (nor you can't play it actually) but it's a pleasure to listen to !

His playing is always as strange as his guitars, still there's always a strong melody that captivates the listener. You're good Mr Legg. You're very good !

  • @Canawadry the tab would be interesting

  • Beautifull, Just wished it went on for longer.

  • Saw him play at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville late 90's and he's phenominal.

  • Beautiful.
