You sure earned this kingy. congrats! do you have the space for a livewell? and still have your big cooler on board? or would any livebait container be shaken too much on a jetski?
How stable is the jet ski when you hook up? Does it rock from the pull, do you get towed around the place? I've been in a 14 foot dinghy and had a kingy tow us around the bay so I can imagine that you end up all over the place.
The late model 3 seater skis are very stable, I use the 1812cc FX HO WaveRunner and have no issues with stability for fishing. Any good size fish will tow you around when hooked up, it also will tire the fish when pulling the ski around.
"Very good my friend",,,,I look forward to your up coming videos,,,,,I also will have some "new fishing videos" coming soon so check my videos out also if you want,,,,"Best Regards Always",,,,,SharkMan650
Get your facts right, that is 100% called a Kingfish in New Zealand. Species are named different around the world, do a google search... Thanks for the feedback
Awesome video. Im a kayak fisherman but i have a pwc license just burning a hole in my wallet. Id like to get into this style of fishing someday. Few questions....Can you troll 1-2mph on a jet ski? Will that harm the engine in anyway? Whats the cost for maintence?
@CAPTBORG Hi, visit our forum as most of you questions can be answered at our Jetskifishing community. The maintenance costs are minimal, depending on which model ski you purchase.
Thinking of getting a Jetski and doing the same thing too. How k's it take you to get out there bro? looks like you can just get that kingi on there hehe.
18 miles off shore, you need to have a late model 3 seater ski to be stable and reliable enough to go that far out. All safety boxes should be ticked and going with another rider or boat is a good idea.
If I was wearing that cap I would have been filming the sky lol. Cool vid.

I want to know one thing about fishing it might sound stupid. Dsnt the fishes mouth get torn apart from the hook when pulling so hard?:S
1werall 10 months ago
@1werall
Not very often would that happen, as the fish are normally hooked inside the lip area
