  • wait i sec....you have been to futurepoly huh ? ;]

  • I know use photoshop, I just don't have much drawing skills. This is not really a turorial, but a showreal of your skill.

  • hi im new to all this like i can sketch but on Photoshop it hole different story and my mum being the lovey women she is she got me a bamboo sketch bored for the computer and i was wondring would that just be as good as a tablet for Photoshop.

  • Who is the interpret? ;)

  • Amazing!

  • like a boss

  • Legit dude I didn't think I could draw on this shit till now seeing this just opened a whole new world of possibilities for me thanks dude and fuck the haters y'all think you can make a better tutorial do it then! Nut up or shut up fuckers!

  • no offense but bad tutorial, i wanted help but instead im impressed with your skills, i wanna be able to do this

  • how can you people say this isnt a tutorial, if you dont know the basics then i doubt you know how much this is helping people who already mastered shape and or value!!! artists learn more with their eyes, what is the diffrence of saying "draw a circle here" or just drawing a circle?!?!?

  • This is a tutorial? I dont think so.

  • fucking idiot smh

  • i dont think that beginners :o

  • And there goes my ego... :(

  • Hey cock in the mouth......your video is useless to anyone watching it....all it shows is that you are a fucking GOOF

  • i dont care if it was a tutorial. that was freaking awesome.

  • "For beginners"? Where in the world is the "TUTORIAL"? I don't even know which buttons you pushed etc! >,<

  • tutorial eh? its more of an exhibition.. -_-

  • uh was this supposed to be a tutorial? :o

  • looks pretty good but if i was you i would mirror one of them so it doesn't look like it's copied that much

  • i have adobe photoshop cs5, and i cant make anything even close to this, i cant make anything at all i must be doing something wrong please can soeone help?

  • @mikea295 Make sure you double click the program to open it!

  • @mikea295 just use 100% opacity and 100% flow on a standard brush, black preferably and play around with shapes/siluohettes. Try things like creatures people and environments, this technique works for anything.

  • Audio tuts please?

  • awesome draw style

  • If you need advice, just remember what I just said in slow motion.

    Nice "tutorial"

  • what are your brush settings?

  • should i buy a tablet? and which one? please answer

  • Lovin' the concept art. I actually sort of liked where his hands were originally placed more than your edited version. The first one is like, "Yeah, this place sucks and I need a gun, but I don't necessarily need it right now. It's all cool." and the second on was like, "Yeah, I have two guns. I like to wave 'em around and shit. I took this small one from an old man."

I love the music in all your videos. Did you say anywhere what this song is called? Keep it up. (:

  • This is an utterly useless video, especially for beginners. Good job! You ripped off the video, and provided a very useless video! You failed at accomplishing anything special.

  • your destroying it

  • @StrikeScape lol, link please.

  • @bedavelli ahhh lulz sorry for the mstake :P i was looking through his vids and thought i read fengzhudesign but it was your name :P again sorry for this mistake

  • @StrikeScape Dumbass bitch.

  • @StrikeScape whatta hoe

  • @StrikeScape what vid is this of Feng Zhu

  • @StrikeScape Oh god, you're an idiot.

Just because Fen Zhu also makes concept art videos doesn't mean he owns all of them dumbass?

  • bro, you massively improved my workflow. I'm still a suckaknob but studying hard and wanted to say thanks and keep up the pimp work. Big up!

  • these are pretty impressive what style influences you most these kind of remind me of the Metal Gear Solid the twin snakes. Good work on the figures but I think to add a background to your concept characters would make a great sense of their relationship to space thus giving them a more powerful feel but I agree with the comment about your anatomy you have a great sense of it! I am still just working on getting my anatomy at a basic level any tips for that ?

  • these are fucking sick. time to get the graphics tablet out...

  • You might want to consider actually speaking. I didn't learn much here at all. Tutorials are for teaching others. Placing text buttons doesn't help either. You are talented I'll give you that, but if you want to help others, consider slowing down the process and speaking to us. Tell us how you did this or that. Just a suggestion.

  • @xxxXXXCMSXXXxxx he's just playing around with shapes, it' s the first beginner level in concept art silouhettes, i'ts absolutly the basic stuff.

  • @xxxXXXCMSXXXxxx Agree with you!!

  • @xxxXXXCMSXXXxxx text bubbles do help but im guessing you can spell but not read what a shame U_U tutorial or not im just glad to see other people artwork

  • @xxxXXXCMSXXXxxx and btw i dont see you posting any videos of you drawing to help people out so stfu and watch the vid

  • @xxxXXXCMSXXXxxx What should he say then? "here I draw a line because it looks like a mouth". Whut? If you know the basics you don't need talks.

  • Comment removed

  • everyone who uses photoshop has bad taste in music

  • @thresholder1 did you actually stalk every person who owns photoshop, steal their ipods, and listen to them?? dude tell me your secrets!!

  • How do you get your brush to draw solid black without the gray at the start?

  • @FiiXT assuming you are using a mouse you need to disable the airbrush and set the hardness to 100%

  • @conceitarturo Thanks it fixed almost all of my problems. But there i still some gray at the start and the end of the line I have just drawn. P.S. I have a tablet I'm just new to photoshop.

  • I see Fallout 3 in the background!!!

  • @bedavelli, what version of photoshop is that and are you using a tablet?

  • best art luxury sniper

  • Think if this video was for beginner , how awesome video for professionals would be? :P

  • Nice Job Bro

    !!!

  • ok thats just Fucking amazing!

  • pretty badass

  • lighting/shading/form have always been my weak points.after seeing this vid i want to work improving it a bit lol. ur too good

  • ... so next time I hear an a$hole telling me that Photoshop is for people who can't draw, I'll punch him in the face.

  • hmm wow i never thought of doing it like this way. I am very good with pencil and charcoal maybe ill try it this way. Thanks Man.

  • you sir are a god among men

  • I remember this songs from Heat guy j xD

  • this is not for beginers .. ahha.. this is sick..,

  • i draw people like that to but sometimes they have bows but your like 100 times better i can just do the bends and folds of the clothes

  • you are awesome

  • how do you shrink the drawing down

  • awesome dude

  • I really love your advice "follow one aspect at a time."

Maybe following that one aspect will help me focus on my over-all projects.

  • Nice... Is this your own style? if so nice job :D

  • which brushes do you use? =)

Are they/Is it a basic brush? or selfmate?

  • nice tutorial! thakn you!

  • how do you do it, i can't find the tutorial in this video and number 1 video

are you using a mouse or something?

how do you make the sharp and soft edges and how do you make this expand in the length?

and what photoshop are you using?

  • how do you do it xD

    - i can't see the tutorial in this video and number 1 video but love the concept art. i want to make concept art to rpg games like hon and lol because i think its cool :P

    - can you tell me are you using a mouse or like a pencil on a board ?

    - and where can i get photoshop for free and what version are you using :)?

  • osmmm work bro

  • osm

  • this is really cool stuff, looks metal gear-esque

  • sweet job man ^.^

  • how simple you make it appeare..:D

  • wow your awesome drawer im a really good drawer with pencil im just starting to learn how to use photoshop hope i get good fast

  • details on the brush?? hardness? size? thank you

  • You've really got talent. Thumbs up, subbed.

  • great work ,

  • dude nice job! btw wad brush did u use?

  • yep. shapes i see what yo mean, now how about any quick little tips for aka rendering please,

  • awesome work, using simple shapes and lines to create complex figures is a great skill to be teaching, thanks

  • cool concept art are you shure this is beginner stuff

  • @ryofulance this is where you should start to learn at, next to anatomy. sure. next stuff is flesh out aka render it , which is a whole different level, because its not about impression anymore, but it needs to work the whole way through. there is also not much need of composition, colour, functionality, not sideviews yet etc. getting down shapes is for sure THE step for beginners, and something you can ALWAYS advance and learn upon. also good for anatomy training.

  • really nice ! being a big fan of concept art , i must say this one is pretty sweet in his simpleness, with only a few brushstrokes we already see the big idea .

    nice job!

  • You're great at this. :) I think it's best to get a feel of the person's size first. so I always size it up to another that I have drawn or an actual object that I copy and paste like a car.

  • Nice, love black and whites. Thanks for the share, I like the way you apply them :D

  • how do you curve the lines?

  • Just as a note, aside from a very helpful video, the music is pretty cool ^_^

  • Nice work, has a Metal Gear feel to it.

  • What is this song? I neeeed to know! :O

  • Very very impressive. I can only dream of drawing that good.

  • your great

  • It has to be donw with a tablet ^^

  • really good mate, nice style

  • what program are you using?

  • Wow... I want to be like that!

  • HOLY CRAP!!!! I must have a fit at the wacom tablet when producing my art, the speed of that video is so fast the guy must be nackard when finished

  • wow ( ) . ( )

    mind = blown

  • This is BADASS.

  • what song is this?

  • the grey cooler the black!! lol!.

  • I'm an aspiring concept artist and I gotta say your stuff is amazing, the technique especially, I've never tryed this method before...then again I don't have a tablet either, but mouse drawing will have to do. I HAVE to try this lol

  • @gunzet If you're serious about concept art the only way to get really good, is to use a tablet Wacom tablets are industry standard they are highly recommended it's important to use a tablet for accuracy and to improve your work standards.

  • ah yea I know, but I don't have access to one, atleast not all the time. I do most of my concepts traditionally still until I'm able to get a tablet

  • wow :O

  • Thats a great video showing technique...pretty straight foreward, no need for a tutorial. Will use this method thanks :D

  • pro

  • i was wondering the same think as Jake91m.

I had cheaked out the other 2 vids before this one, and i have the starting down, but i was wondering for the details of the tones of white and gray, did you use some sort of angled one? or did you use a regular circle to draw in the details after the original silouette?

  • just wondering what brush your using?...might be a stupid question...some type of angled brush?

  • it is for beginners as it tries to explain at least, you need inspiration and some techniques to be explained here, after all... the skill is inherent to those who wish to do concept art right? I wanna do this, but I can only do it on paper so far, PS is my next step after I get a tablet. What I want to know is Which brand or model should I get? price isnt a problem, I just want to get quality (sensibility and pixels per inch and stuff)

  • @DesertFoX91 Just make sure you get a tablet from Wacom. A Wacom intuos 3 or 4 is a really good tablet. If money is no problem you can also get a Wacom Cintiq, these are tablets with a screen inside so you can draw directly on screen like you would do on paper. I have a Wacom Cintiq and it was defenitly worth it for me.

But if you actually don't have a lot of money, you can also just get a Wacom Bamboo, the quality is defenitly good enough to start making concept art on PS

    Hope this info helps

  • @dejakhalz Ty buddy, could get a bamboo with my own money but dad is kinda elitist so he wants me to work my ass off and he'll get me the cintiq12wx since the bigger one is... well too big for my actual needs. ty for the info again

  • @DesertFoX91 Your welcome, I have a 12wx too and it is the same quality as the 21 inch. However, the 12wx is widescreen so it will make your drawings more wide compared to a normal monitor, something that bugs me a bit. Something to keep in mind...

  • this is good but i dont see how its a tutorial...

  • Great stuff. I use a similar process, but your brushes seem better? Would you be willing to share?

  • dang

    super nice stuff

your method of staring with pure black works really really well :>

and what is the song?? it is awesome aswell

  • I LOVE YOU!!!

i thought i was the only fan of the heat guy j OST lol

  • For beginners!? Lol

  • cool soldier

    i love it =)

  • Dude! Thank you for posting this awesome video. I'm just learning how do draw in PS for fun...I read that you are using calig brushes but do you adjust the brush angle for different strokes? Or do you just switch between brushes as needed? ie, you don't always want your brush oriented left to right 45%. you may want it R to L at 76%. New brush or change angle? Many many thanks.

  • bedavelli, are you a professional concept artist? Who do you work for?

  • dude ur a beast!!!

  • your anatomy is fucking KEEN bro!

  • I like your style bro, keep it up!

  • nice work, you got a lot of skill. thanks for the video, i have been looking for any steps to drawing concept art.

  • Bedavelli, I would like to formally request that you create a real-time concept art tutorial. Maybe you could explain how you use the brushes that you do? Pen pressure as well?? Also, what size canvas do you usually start with?

  • @EyeOnTheTV I also would ask you to teach us about your drawing technique. Im very interested in your brushes. Thank you, Bedavelli.

  • what is the song called like??? does anybody know?

it has a specific groove, i just totally love it!

  • Awesome work man, subscribed!

I hoped you would have colored one... hope you make more characters!

    Peace!

  • Gr8 - I Luv shapes ! cool work

  • i like the rough-like shapes that the characters have even in final step. in seems to me very effective. ( anatomy is my horror - I just can t draw an appropriately shaped figure . )

  • are you a concept artist for video games? if so which ones? and do you have any tips on becoming one?

  • very metal gear-esk. i like it :D

  • Amazing video and thanks so much for uploading. I honestly liked the first pose of the sniper better.

  • Wow, awesome. thx for uploading!

  • Thanks for viewing bro.

  • nice

  • Great work.

Are you on a Mac? If so, what program are you recording with?

    Thanks.

  • I'm using Snapz Pro - i'm pretty sure it's a mac - only program,

it works great, the user interface is incredibly simple and i've yet to have a problem with it - that is to say, I never have any software problems whatsoever anyway.

Yeah dude, they have a free trial of Snapz Pro - check it out on their website, google it.

  • Thanks

  • Okay thank you

  • Do you know about how much a kind of cheap but good drawing tablet would be worth?

  • got a wacom bamboo for about £30. its great, easily good enough to start out on. i cant imagine needing much more

  • Okay thanks

  • I just ordered bamboo fun... seemed like the most financially feasible for an amateur just starting out, like myself...

  • Good for you man - bamboo fun is fun.

  • yea i think we have all had atleast one bamboo fun, then i got a intous 3 and im still using it

  • bamboo tablet, 99 dollars is all u would need and it has great portablity with it.

  • for beginners? hahaha

  • Best Comment EVAR!

  • lol, that was funny

  • I know, aren't I hilarious ?

  • @goryogor

This is a very simple way of creating character concepts to be honest. But like everything it will take a little practice and imagination to get quicker.

  • I also don't really have a good hand for this, and my mouse kind of sucks. Is there any way to help this? I suck at drawing straight lines and things like that

  • Hey, I really like these concept art paintings you do. I'm trying to learn myself. I've got a question though. I see you selecting different brushes alot. Do you use all the basics or have you downloaded new ones?

    Thanks.

  • not for this vid -

go to your brushes and 'append' the "calligraphic" brushes,

that's all I used for these vids, and that's all I used for a long, long time.

But dude, don't get hung up on who uses what brushes, it's all about you, 100%. Try out as many of them as you can, find some you like, and use the crap out of them.

  • Hmm...are you using multiple layers? or are you editing the whole figure in one layer?

  • I'm editing the figure primarily on one layer. I'm just using black and white with the brush - or painting a black silhouette and erasing out to draw. There's no layer modifications or tricks, it's all one layer and just painting.

  • That is great! I'm going to try this out in Macromedia Flash! If I ever going to post it on youtube I'll probably make a link in the description to your video!

  • Really good. One off your best video.

  • That was really cool.

  • What is this music? I love it! Anyone know?

  • I think this a song from the Anime "Heat Guy j." Look up the soundtrack here on Youtube and i think you should find it.

  • Wish i could draw like that......

  • I suscribed dude, the more i watch of your videos the more i like your black and white gritty style!

  • Never to late to learn how to draw. Unless of course you're on your deathbed or something.
