Awsome video dry ice is cool i wish i had some but oh well very cool video its a solid (the dry ice) plus a liquid (the hot water) equals a gas (the outcome or if soap is added like you did then its a solid plus a liquid plus a liquidy solid equals a gas trapped in side a solid liquid.
nice m8, i finally figured out what to do with this excess dry ice :P that was really really fun, parents were scared cause they say the C02 gas going below the door :P
CO2 is bad for you, if you breathe in CO2 you'll suffocate/die after a minute (With nothing but concentrated CO2 being inhaled). Basically, it's bad to inhale it, but it won't kill you to take breathe it with the air in the room.
CO2 is not going to kill you. In fact you breathe it in small amounts all the time in normal air, but you don't use it and therefore exhale it along with Nitrogen and other gases you are not designed to burn for energy.
The only way to die from breathing a pure load of Carbon Dioxide, is to hold it in there and suffocate (stupid).
Blowing all your air out and sucking in Helium from a baloon is no different, apart from the density of the gas. But you wouldn't hold it in there for long.
QUESTION! Aren't you not supposed to keep dry ice in a plastic container? i once saw where they put dry ice in a plastic cooler to see what happened and i blew up!
First, plastic will crack if it comes in direct contact with dry ice. You can't see it, but inside my cooler, the dry ice is actually still inside a paper sack - separating the ice from the plastic.
Second, it will really only explode if there is too much pressure inside. That would happen if the lid securely shut. My cooler lid pops off easily and so the pressure would not build up enough to be dangerous.
Hey i have a question... you probably been asked this before but can you use food coloring? is this what they do for the volcanos for science projects and whatnot? or is there some otehr way of doing that?
no i can't see any possible way of coloring GAS. what you and vinegar, sodium bicarbonate, dihydrogen oxide, and food coloring and google volcanoes how to make.
its just i cant find it anywhere im wasnt yelling haha i just wanted to make sure that everyone could see it and respond and also like would you just ask someone to get you the dry ice cuz the one i go to i never see any special section ha so like would i just ask a sales assoctiate and they'd get some one to ring it up because im not really sure what to do because this is my first time ever buying dry ice
They usually keep it locked in a cooler at the front of the store. You just tell the cashier, "And I would like 2 pounds of dry ice." And they go and get it for you. In most states you must be at least 16 years old to buy it.
Dry ice is really fun to play with I did my science project in fun with dry ice! I did this, made a dry ice bubble and I won 1st place!
