I wish that on april fools day that in the pokemon games all the epic music would switch with the trainer battles. I always wanted to hear this when battling youngster joey

Silver, waiting for a challenger truly worthy of his skills. So I ventured there, with my Level 70 Tyranitar, Typhlosion,Dragonite, Ampharos, Hitmonchan, and Lugia, and reached the top. I noticed a trainer, waiting just like the legend says. I apporached this trainer eagerly. And the battle theme starts. And I shit my pants O.o
The coolest thing is that Ethan (Gold) was originally supposed to be Red younger brother. Unfortunately they removed it into the official version since they have different mothers, one in pallet and another in Johto. It would only be true if their father banged both mothers.
As you reach the summit of Mt. Silver, you see a silhouette of a person within the blinding snow. You press on towards the figure, trying not to fall to your doom by the harsh winds. As you get closer to him, you are assaulted by a sense of unease.
Red: ... ... ... ... ... ...

I once fought Red with each of his pokemon's worst enemies; for pikachu i used a Garchomp (with earthquake), for snorlax i used lucario with the highest attack stat i could forge, for lapras i used electivire, for charizard i used tyranitar, for venusar i used infernape, and for blastoise i used a sceptile. all level 100. highest possible stats. The sonuvabitch still beat me. How the fuck does that happen?

I think every time Ash goes to a new region his Pokemon's level starts from 5 or 1 because Pikachu learns Electro Ball at level 18. Ash lost because Pikachu's electric energy was absorbed by Zekrom.
@readyovi Ash keeps freaking restarting which is why everyones a challenge to him. He would be about reds level of skill if that didnt happen. By now he shouldve been the pokemon master but since the animes a joke compared to manga and game just aint gonna happen.

@BOKillerZombie you really cant compare the two. red is the player, who can do anything they want. Ash is supposed to be realistic where everyone cant have their own legendary and they actually have to sleep eat and physically walk to towns, which are miles and miles away, not a brisk 30 second walk. You cant compare red, who is basically a robot, to ash, who is a real (to the extent of the pokemon universe)
@LucienofTheLight He is talking about the pokemon adventures Red who grew like a human being and aged, he got everything he did from experience and his personality.
Ash is a flat line never gets better and always gives up his pokemon except for pikachu.
@TheDraughtofspades Sorry to jump in, but I have to agree with Skyhawk. Ash never does seem to get better. He gets older, certainly, but his battle skills remain the same. And if his old team worked fine and he loved it, then why would he change it? It doesn't make sense. For example, I migrate all of my old Pokemon into my new games because my old team worked fine. If there was a problem with my Pokemon, then I would explore changing it with a newer one.

Also, can you explain why his Pikachu resets back to level 5 whenever he starts in a new region? It's hard to believe his Pikachu can beat insanely powerful level 70 foes in Kanto but can't even conquer Norman's Vigoroth in Hoenn. I mean, seriously? Ash beat all 8 gym leaders, but he can't even beat one of the 5th's Pokemon in Hoenn?
@TheDraughtofspades Meh, there's more to being a great Trainer than beating people with new Pokemon. If that was true, everyone who played Challenge Cup in Stadium 2 was a great Trainer! And just as a side note, Ash was never one for exploring. That was more May's thing. Ash just alway wanted to get to the next gym so he could get a badge. But Red didn't even know about the gyms when he began his journey, so I'd say he's more into exploring because that was his initial goal.
@TheDraughtofspades But if one Trainer has a flawless team and a tough training regime, doesn't that make him a better Trainer than the lighthearted one who doesn't know whether his Pokemon are ready? And again, if Ash can willingly give up his Pokemon, doesn't that prove that his bonds with them are weak? Red would never give up one of his well-trained friends because he put so much work into making them the best.

His goal wasn't to make Pikachu the strongest Pokemon in the world, IIRC he said, "How about we just be friends?" It's because Red stays with his Pokemon for so long and never gives them up that he's such a great Trainer. Ash, on the other hand, never forms true bonds with his Pokemon because he'll give them up at the drop of a hat.

If I were going to train my Pokemon, I'd do it the way Red does. You've got to admit, it is effective - he's got the most powerful Pokemon of any in-game Trainer! I'm not sure which Red we're discussing, but if it's Red from GSC there won't be much to talk about but speculation!
Game Freak certainly does know how to design a character, but I'm getting worried that they've forgotten. Not that BW is bad by any means, but there weren't any truly memorable characters like Giovanni or Red. In terms of skyscrapers and 8-bit, you're definitely right, but doesn't it feel a bit inconsistent? For example, you're in Castelia City, where everything is fully-rendered, beautiful 3D. Then it goes 8-bit in a battle?
@TheDraughtofspades The bridges are also nice, but as it is the person I am, I have something to say about them too.
While they certainly are beautiful, I wish that they'd have been given more time in development. Like on the Skyarrow bridge, where the camera smoothly slides around? That's amazing, and it gives you a sense of awe. But then the camera suddenly flicks away in the middle, and then it flicks back again? That totally pulls you out of it.

The game's structure... is slightly different for the series. You know in RBY, how sometimes you just didn't know where to go? That doesn't happen. It's very tight and linear, and that sort of goes back to the "story" I mentioned earlier....
The Pokemon are a mixed bag for me. Litwick and its evolutions were great, but then there were rip-offs like Bouffalant.

Perhaps, having more technological means, the story becomes expanded and dispersive ... More similar to the real, you will agree, even if less "reassuring."

@TheDraughtofspades Well, I doubt their reasons are so benine. I think that it should be the player's choice to choose the next gym, and if it's too hard, they'll just try another one! It's the freedom to choose that draws people into a game, not a scripted experience from beginning to end.
@TheDraughtofspades Yes, but Team Rocket had the same goals and didn't require the player to play in the exact way the developers wanted. The story with Team Rocket would nproceed when you wanted it to proceed - not the developers.

You should send that to Game Freak! Haha... imagine what would happen if you let the team take over... how hard it would be to stop them....

This fight was so tense the first time I battled Red. When it said Trainer Red want's to battle I said, "Hey isn't that the guy from my Red version?"
So I turned Gold version off and turned Red version on, than looked at the profile and said "HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE GUY FROM RED/BLUE/YELLOW VERSION!"

Just remember, red was the trainer who survived gary oak showing up at the end of every cage and after the elite four.
That both explains why he's so strong, and why he doesn't want to talk.

Evolution makes them sand their stats stronger, along with better move pools. Compare any parallel pokes from Ash's team and Red's and I bet Red's are better.
He can buy them. The anime states it.
Red made plenty of friends along his journey as well, like Bill.

Ash tries his best in every gym battle, just like Red does. Except Red wins.

@BOKillerZombie you really cant compare the two. red is the player, who can do anything they want. Ash is supposed to be realistic where everyone cant have their own legendary and they actually have to sleep eat and physically walk to towns, which are miles and miles away, not a brisk 30 second walk. You cant compare red, who is basically a robot, to ash, who is a real (to the extent of the pokemon universe)

@LucienofTheLight He is talking about the pokemon adventures Red who grew like a human being and aged, he got everything he did from experience and his personality.
Ash is a flat line never gets better and always gives up his pokemon except for pikachu.

And yez,he restart his team (except for Pikachu) every time he enters in a new Region.
You can understand this,it's a will to test new species of Pkmn and discover new fight strategy.

@TheDraughtofspades Sorry to jump in, but I have to agree with Skyhawk. Ash never does seem to get better. He gets older, certainly, but his battle skills remain the same. And if his old team worked fine and he loved it, then why would he change it? It doesn't make sense. For example, I migrate all of my old Pokemon into my new games because my old team worked fine. If there was a problem with my Pokemon, then I would explore changing it with a newer one.

Also, can you explain why his Pikachu resets back to level 5 whenever he starts in a new region? It's hard to believe his Pikachu can beat insanely powerful level 70 foes in Kanto but can't even conquer Norman's Vigoroth in Hoenn. I mean, seriously? Ash beat all 8 gym leaders, but he can't even beat one of the 5th's Pokemon in Hoenn?

@TheDraughtofspades Meh, there's more to being a great Trainer than beating people with new Pokemon. If that was true, everyone who played Challenge Cup in Stadium 2 was a great Trainer! And just as a side note, Ash was never one for exploring. That was more May's thing. Ash just alway wanted to get to the next gym so he could get a badge. But Red didn't even know about the gyms when he began his journey, so I'd say he's more into exploring because that was his initial goal.

Ash wants to increase his Pkmn's abilities,but more "waiting" for his team's times,and the possibility they couldn't feeling ready for battle.

@TheDraughtofspades But if one Trainer has a flawless team and a tough training regime, doesn't that make him a better Trainer than the lighthearted one who doesn't know whether his Pokemon are ready? And again, if Ash can willingly give up his Pokemon, doesn't that prove that his bonds with them are weak? Red would never give up one of his well-trained friends because he put so much work into making them the best.

He seems to don't mind so much about all the work on training his olds ones,for him it's simply a pleasure and he's amused to transmit this passionate work on someone else.
Red has a strict bond with his Pkmn and consider them probably definitive.
Ash=dynamic team,weak every time he resets it,remarkable at the League.
Red=Static. One team from the beginning to the end,extremely powerful.

@TheDraughtofspades Well, you're making Red seem like a guy who's just obsessed with training his Pokemon. Remember when he met Pikachu? His goal wasn't to make Pikachu the strongest Pokemon in the world, IIRC he said, "How about we just be friends?" It's because Red stays with his Pokemon for so long and never gives them up that he's such a great Trainer. Ash, on the other hand, never forms true bonds with his Pokemon because he'll give them up at the drop of a hat.

But I think Manga Red isn't Games Red.
Without any doubt,Red loves a lot his Pkmn.He also loves to be strong,but it's not obsessed,he isn't Blue.
Certainly,he worked as his Pkmn couldn't be defeated so easily.
He hasn't obsession in training Pkmn,but has a steel way to do,you know,not a chatty one,alone on the top of a mountain during blizzard,barely goes home..

B / W? I consider them a fracture, but also a continuity with the past. See and think about those skyscrapers...Nostalgia of the 8-bit ..
And admire the bridges, and the fine structure of the game.
I've immediately found them hypnotizing, B / W, also the Pkmn.

Game Freak certainly does know how to design a character, but I'm getting worried that they've forgotten. Not that BW is bad by any means, but there weren't any truly memorable characters like Giovanni or Red. In terms of skyscrapers and 8-bit, you're definitely right, but doesn't it feel a bit inconsistent? For example, you're in Castelia City, where everything is fully-rendered, beautiful 3D. Then it goes 8-bit in a battle?

While they certainly are beautiful, I wish that they'd have been given more time in development. Like on the Skyarrow bridge, where the camera smoothly slides around? That's amazing, and it gives you a sense of awe. But then the camera suddenly flicks away in the middle, and then it flicks back again? That totally pulls you out of it.

The game's structure... is slightly different for the series. You know in RBY, how sometimes you just didn't know where to go? That doesn't happen. It's very tight and linear, and that sort of goes back to the "story" I mentioned earlier....
The Pokemon are a mixed bag for me. Litwick and its evolutions were great, but then there were rip-offs like Bouffalant.

@TheDraughtofspades Well, I doubt their reasons are so benine. I think that it should be the player's choice to choose the next gym, and if it's too hard, they'll just try another one! It's the freedom to choose that draws people into a game, not a scripted experience from beginning to end.
