Rohan is just awesome. Gondor is pretty boss, but Rohan is just epic. Not only have they broken TWO separate lines (one here, one at Helm's Deep), they faced off against the Haradrim (Southrons) and their Mûmakil (Oliphaunts). Pulled Gondor's ass out of the fire, they did.

Don't worry, I have read the Silmarillion, the Book of Lost Tales and the Narn i Hin Hurin ;-) And I do know who the two different Glorfindels were.

But I didn't mean Tolkien would have liked the films, I meant he would have liked this particular scene - he loved the old Saxons, and in his mind, the Saxons would have won the battle of Hastings had they had cavalry - and the Rohirrim were born. Hence, I think he'd have loved this epic scene.
