Twilight Princess was average, Skyward Sword is good and overrated... Man, I really wish the Zelda development team would get their bearings together and start making timeless classics like Wind Waker again.

Or get Miyamoto to actually develop the next Zelda for a spiritual successor of Link to the Past... that and Wind Waker are two of my favorite Zeldas ever.

I just played this game 10 years after its release... and what is amazing is that it looks just great (arguably better) than it did a decade earlier. It's amazing. Zelda doesn't go for the most realistic graphics. They go for the graphics that best suit the game. Skyrim will look like crap 10 years from now. This game and all Zelda will stand the test of time. I love Zelda. Love it. These feelings are truly genuine. Zelda is what all gaming should be.

for me, wind waker rivals a link to the past and link's awakening for the best overworld in the series. exploring the sea was a such a joy. some people found sailing tedious, but i thought the enormous scale was very awe-inspiring and seeing those islands in the distance always beckoned further adventure. majora's mask's termina, twilight princess's hyrule field, and skyward sword's sky do not compare.

I did like TP. It was a great game and had some really memorable dungeons. I know a lot of people didnt get the theme of darkness, but I found it captivating.I also liked the soundtrack, although there werent as many songs that stuck with me, the ones that did were haunting & beautiful (midnas lament, night music) that being said, the characters just didnt resonate with me. I think they just didnt have as much spark as the characters from other Zelda adaptations.

@MissDYay IMO Midna was as great a sidekick I could ask for, I mean compare her to the competition after all.

It was a bit dissapointing that Ganon was the boss in the end, but that being said Ganon was as big a badass as ever in there so it worked out fairly well IMO.

The dungeons were probably my favorite of the games I've played, simply because of the variety. I also found some of the enemies a great joy to fight, those gigantic armored guys that you face near the end? Amazing.

Maybe I'm just a bit of a latecomer to the party, my earliest zelda games just LttP on the gameboy advanced but I can honestly say I got the most enjoyment out of WW an TP. TP's world was just... It felt like Hyrule to me, probably like what people experienced in OoT the first time. I mean think back to the frozen zora realm and the snowy mountain...

It was darker, yes, but I liked that. Just like how I liked WW for being light, it felt right is all.

I really dont know but in this music there is something that makes me fell Happy and Nostalgic, like the top comment this music brings me good memories indeed, I was 10 or something, and it was a lot of good times playing Wind Waker! Traveling the ocean with this music! Epic days trying to discover 100% of this game, doing side quests and exploring each island in the game! Thanks Nintendo for this awesome game!

I think Wind Waker is one of the most important Zeldas because it's the first 3D Zelda that didn't follow Ocarina. You didn't ride on a horse, the graphics were more cartoony, you lived on islands, the fire temple was first, etc. This game led to PH and ST. I also think this game was a large basis for Skyward Sword. (the graphics are similar, you don't ride on a horse, you live on islands)
