  • i have 3 tiger barb 1 pink convict and 1 betta fish

thumbs up if you like one of them

  • if i could eat something invicible for human eye me dad won't get mad

  • I love your tank - the simplicity is divine !

  • amazing job. very beautiful. thumbs up from me.

  • I have some to 3 normal tiger barbs and 2 green tiger barbs. I cycling the tank and I will get more fish soon. (other species) They are very fun and I live how they eat.

  • i think its speed up look at the bubels at the top

  • I think the video speed has been increased.

the fish like like they are swimming abnormally!!

  • DWARF LOACH??? Where?!?! I needed one of those :/

  • what substrate are you using? i have a 20 gal that used to house my oscar(in a 135 now) that has just regular sand, your seems extremely white. let me know

  • This tank doesn't even compare to my tank, but nice tho!! Check out my tank. :)

  • i cant explain how much like this video

  • Nice lookin tank! So simple and clean. These barbs are really active. I have 6 in a 20 gallon, but they are much more "mellow". They do have their moments though! Sometimes they turn flat on their side and brush up against the plants and decorations, even turning upside down every now and then while playing "tag". Thanks for posting, and good music choice too :)

  • did i miss sumthing?

  • simple and beautiful =)

  • So nice. Where did you get the driftwood?

  • Try to count them

  • your tank looks great. good idea to just have barbs. i would add some hidding places though, other wise they have no where to hide from the bullies!!

  • Awesome tank simple but cool! umm one silly question how long do tiger barbs poop for? Cause i dont know if it might be a parasite or just poo lol

  • LOVE THIS SETUP

  • amazing tank great modern look real simple but cool.

  • i want that piece of wood

  • I have some driftwood with a plant growing on it it is pretty epic

  • do tiger barbs school together even if they're all different sizes?

  • Are they still alive! Nice Tank add more

  • I tried to count when they were moving but failed miserably had to pause it to count them try it lol

  • Whats your substrait?

  • either your camera quality is really good or that tank is super clean or its both

  • Woahhhhhh.. they're all over the place lol. I'm planning on getting some for my 30 gallon (when it's all set up). It'll be my very first tank :D

  • Is the gravel sand ?

  • Jesus did you fast forward? Damn they are on Crack or some shit.. lmaoo..

  • what type of flter do you have?

  • get some plants

  • That center piece you have is beautiful!

  • sick tank :D

  • I just put 8 in my 55. It is bare bottom with no decorations atm. They are having a ball schooling.

  • i was like ok beat it then read title and just sighed ahhhhh nice tank how big do tiger barbs get i wanna get some but im not for sure yet

  • what is the most aggresive fish that i could afford ($20-$30 a fish). i was thinking a cichlid like a jack dempsey or a red devil. rite now i have a 39 gallon tank with guppies in it and the guppies r boring lol. please respond.

  • simple, yet looks very nice

  • Your Java moss idea seems a bit flaky.

If you put the wood down in 2 sides facing up you can tie 2 java ferns with long leaves and and nymphea lotuses and half of the surfacecovered with ducked or salvina natan will be the best tank bor tigerbarbs

  • im new to the hobby of fishkeeping and just wondering if barbs and cichlids can go together?

  • what kind of cichlids were you planning to match them with?

  • depends what type of cichlids but for the most part i wouldnt do it .

  • @Rares4Life buy better fish food

  • omg that is so beautiful....

  • lmao this remake of beat it is awesome!!!

  • Hey, do you have any feeding tips? I just got 7 of these little guys and when I feed them the flakes float at the top until one grabs one and it explodes into 1000 micro pieces. Any tips?

  • try bloodworms. They stay mostly in one piece, they're cheap, and my tigers cant get enough of them.

  • are plants hard to maintane i want a 30g i want a barb/ tetra tank

  • Hard to maintain? ... That I can't answer you because I never had any real plants in my tank, but I've heard there are some very low low maintenance plants that doesn't require any high tech equipment and care.

There are alot of information online, check out some planted tank forums. There are plently out there.

  • @davideorater they are very easy to maintain, all u need is a florescent bulb but that is not mandatory.

  • @davideorater Barbs can be a bit vicious with plants. But also heavily planted tanks require CO2 in the day and an air pump at night. Some say heavy aquascapes are harder to maintain than marine tanks

  • depends on the species u want to keep really. I found it almost impossible to kill my anubias (dont ask why I tried). Look at ur water parameters and find plants that fit within ur PH, hardness etc.. co2 and plant ferts will be a bonus ;)

  • @davideorater

I have a few live plants in a 55 gallon and they are a pain in the ass sometimes because the leaves get stuck in the filter and the fish pull them out of the gravel. All i do is put plant food (its a liquid) in the tank once a week

  • @davideorater I have a planted tank and all i did was just planted it and there it is, done. lol. I never had to add anything, i actually bought some seeds from walmart for like 2.50 and three grew to over 20 inches long.

  • @davideorater easy, dont worry!

  • @davideorater umm ferns are easy to maintain they are very hardy jave ferns are great for beginners .. some plants are sensative to the water conditions ive noticed in my tanks that they are clearer with live plants and i know that it puts more oxygen into the water helps to keep fish healthy

  • @davideorater No not at all, you just need decent water flow and good enough lighting, which for many species such as Anubias is not very much at all

  • i had one sun of a fish like this, he killed lots of fishes before i noticed it was that "small fish" who killed my tetras and even fishes doubled sized as him 0,o it are very nice fishes but i heard you need to keep these in groups so they will attack echother instead if "KILLING" other fishes

  • awesome fish. if you wanna see an even better feeding frenzy chuck a 20 inch dovii in there.

  • lol try and keep and eye on one all thorugh

  • heh...just tried that... I couldn't focus on one throughout the whole video. Seems impossible O.o

  • He he the song suits the little buggers lol

  • Looks really cool! I might get rid of my gold fish, and do a tetra, gourami tank!

    Check my tank out!

  • dude i really suggest plants i love them i have a sun glo lighting and also give mine flourish excel and they look amazing and i like them almost more then my fish lol

  • That tank looks so plain yet seems like it's perfect! It look badass how that looks like a tree I wish I can find something like that but that would be one in a million... Beautiful tank n now I am thinking sand for mine but Ima wait till I upgrade to a 125 or 150... Mad props on the tank though.

  • what lighting are u using?

  • I'm not using anything fancy, actually my lightning fixture is just average in my opinion. I'm using a standard single tube fluorescent strip light. Only reason it seems very well lit is because of my white substrate, it reflects the light off making the tank bright.

  • Nice man did you ever get to putting that moss on?! How many is that 10?

  • Yea 10, and yea I intend on entering planting eventually, but not now. But it currently doesn't hold the barbs anymore.

  • Man ur barbs are tiny I should know

  • Yea they are juvies, young ones. O.o

  • The only reason I watched the full video is because that song was fucking funny!!

  • You should put a Bamboo shrimp in there.

  • How many tiger barbs is it recommended to keep together?

  • At least 5-6, so they can keep their aggression amongst themselves.

  • thats's really fucked up >=O

  • can anyone help and tell me how to know when your tiger barbs are in spawning and they have an interest in another tiger barb. please?

    thanks (:

  • Ever consider moss on the piece of wood?

I think that would look great, and I would probably have a hard time rooting in the sand.

  • love this vid lol i got the same fish.

  • Without a doubt the sexiest tank ive ever seen (if tanks are considered sexy) good job looks great but i know that white sand gets dirty easily i kno cuz i use to have some i hate how you can see all the poop at the bottom thats why i like black sand yo

  • made me laugh :p

  • hey im thinking about setting up a tank with alot some different fish it is gooing to be 10 galllons and im planning on getting 5 tetras 2 gouramis 5 tiger barbs and 2 small catfish do you think this will work out? please respond.

  • PM sent.

  • way too many fish

  • i have a 20 gallon high, how many tiger barbs can go into there?

  • If you follow the 1 inch per gallon rule, tiger barbs can get up to 3 inch max, so like 6-7ish tiger barbs.

  • hey, im planning on having a tiger barbs tank just them and no other kind of fishes. how many can i have in a 90gl?

  • 90 Gallons?! Just for tiger barbs only? Wow, you can have alot. If you want to follow the 1 inch per gallon rule, you can have about 30 ish. But 90 gallons is a big tank for tiger barbs, I think you can have even more.

  • rawr

  • featering fiesta the fish need swimming space especially for tiger barbs there realyy fast and if there is 2 much they could crash

  • wow what a boring, empty tank, couldn't you at least put one plant in there at the minimum?

  • You painted the back of your aquarium ?!

How radical ! There's no come back to any other color...Anyway, a black-back tank is way cooler and aesthetical than a blue one, for instance...

  • Yea I paint all my tanks black, it gives whatever in the tank more contrast in my opinion.

  • nice tank, nice fish, nice song lol. whats the minimum tank size for 1 tiger barb?

  • Tiger barbs don't do well solo. They tend to do better in groups of at least 6 in my opinion, due to the fact their semi aggressive fish and if alone they will bother other fish if you have other fish in there.

  • Great tank. Very clean.

  • how you keep your tank so clean?do you only have a filther or do you have amano shrimps and other stuff to keep the tank clean?and is that sand you use?plz answer i want to get some barbs but don't know what to put in the tank yet...

  • I only have 1 filter, tips on keeping tank clean is not to overfeed, not to over stock, and try to do water changes weekly if possible. This tank doesn't have anything else in it.

As for the sand, it's 3M ColorQuartz T-Grade

  • If you don't want to buy expensive sand a good tip is to buy sand made for pool filters, Just go to your local swimming pool dealer and they sell the stuff in 50 lb bags for a few bucks!

It's perfectly fine for fish and is fine(ish) white sand.

(I've had pool sand in my African Chiclid tank for years)

  • do the tiger fishes eat plants ?

  • Not that I know of.

  • whats the songs name?

  • its a parody of micheal jackson - Bad by Weird Al Yankovic - Eat It

  • sweet tank!

  • pretty tank

  • I noticed you mentioned java moss. Doesn't matter what color your thumb is, if you get a patch established (tie it down with fishing line) on the wood it will grow, and never stop. Like any plant its good for the tank as well because it takes in nitrates. I think perhaps they only way to kill it is leave it in the desert sun for a week or set it on fire.

  • i want to throw a red devil in there...=p

  • how do you paint the back, what type of paint do you use. It looks great.

  • I think I used regular black latex house paint.

  • hope you never want a blue background. I have always just bought a normal background and turned it around for the black side so I had the option for change in the future.

  • Where did you get that wood from?

    and what wood is it?

    any links?

your tank looks so simple but looks amazing, well done.

  • It's Malaysian Driftwood, I ordered online, not sure from what site, I ordered a while ago, I'll see if I can find it for you. But the thing is that when you order it online you don't get to see the driftwood. They sell it in size ranges & they pick one randomly for you within the range.

  • I like your tank. 5 stars from me :)

  • haha so minimal... but it looks awesome and artsy.

  • i think this tank's good, no need to add more stuff to it, i like it its just simple...

  • a few nice bright greeeeen plants would add a nice touch

  • Those barbs have great colouring! I recently added 4 to my tank. Do you know if they get along with African Cichlids??

  • African Cichlids and Tiger barbs don't really mix. They belong in two different type of waters. African Cichlids belong in hard to very hard water as for tiger barbs belong in soft to medium type waters. Certain african cichlids might even be too aggressive for a tiger barb. So I wouldn't recommend mixing the two.

  • Comment removed

  • i like the simplicity of it!

  • naive fish

    bonne vidéo

  • nice set up! - throw in a cave or two then add a red tail shark - cool.

  • wow I love your simple setup of the tank

  • were did you get the song

  • i had tons of tiger barbs. theyre cool.

where do you get the driftwood?

  • Lol the weird al song in the background makes this really funny and cute =) I've had tiger barbs in the past they're cool fish.

  • I have a question I know u should keep minimum of 5 barbs. I have 5 normal tiger barbs right now, but do u think it'd be ok if I only get like 3 green and 3 albino and they will still be accepted in the shoal? Their not gonna be diverse or anything right? like sticking wit their own kind and end up nipping on fins cuz there's only 3 of the green and 3 of the albino? or would they all be 1 single shoal a total of 11 barbs as one?

  • You can mix & match, they don't really differentiate. I had some albinos and regular tiger barbs at one time in my fish hobby, they all acted normal. But in my opinion I think they look best as one variety.

  • I have only 3 tiger barbs and they do fin. They never even think about chasing my other fish around.

  • my tiger barbs layed eggs, and they get stuck to plants and ornaments as expected, but my bigger coldwater fish keep eating them, is there anything , besides moving fish in or out, i can do to protect against this.

  • Not really, when a female tiger barb starts releasing her eggs at the spawning site the male will follow her and leave a trail of sperm in the water. You should remove the adult fish from the rearing aquarium, since they are known to eat their own offspring & any other fish you have. If you have covered the aquarium floor with marbles the eggs will be safer since the eggs can fall down between the marbles where the adult fish cant reach them. But nevertheless fry should have their own tank.

  • Sooo clean!

  • DUDE you could put so many different kinds of fish in with them. I have tiger barbs in wish chiclids, danios, pacu etc.

  • wow, nice simple fish tank. I like it, gj

  • how many could i put in a 12 gallon tank?

  • Probably 4 to 6 thats just my opinion

Cause they get a decent size so yeah.

  • WOW, what a great looking tank. You nailed it dude, what a great simple look. I have 4 baby Tiger Barbs in my 55 gallon with many other types of fish, so far they are doing great. I have never had them before and assume they are the reason why some of my gups now have fin nips. So beware for anyone with fancy tailed fish of any kind.

  • Love tank Love song, makes me want fish 'n' chips... =D

  • Very nice i love the simple look of the tank looks like you took there habitat and cut it into a bow front aquarium but my cichlids would domintae those fish but since your in college stick with the simple fish

  • I'll try to get a new video of the tank as soon as I finish with my finals & have some more time available. ^_^

  • Thank you all for the comments, the tank look different in a way now. I moved the barbs to a friend's bigger tank cause they were getting bigger and I think they would do better in a longer/bigger tank to roam around.

The tank now I'm trying to make it blackwater biotype using peat moss filtration and just some simple tetras at the moment. Nothing as active as these barbs =O

  • one of the most beautiful tanks ive ever seen good job

  • is that sand in the bottom?

  • It's 3M Color Quartz, it's like sand but a tad heavy therefore easy to maintain. It's not easy to obtain though.

  • This video has inspired me to start a bare tank too. I'm thinking tiger barbs, harlequin rasboras and maybe a red-tail shark.

  • Tiger Barbs & Harlequin Rasboras are fine, I had them together at one point in my fish keeping hobby, but a red-tail shark? Not sure if their too too aggressive? Don't qoute me though research it a bit.

  • Nice thank. Less is More.

  • i love the simplicity, i mean maybe one more rock wouldnt hurt, but do not over plant this tank its great ;)

also wud i be aloud maybe like 2 barbs as well as maybe 4 other fish in a 12 gallon?

  • Tiger barbs do better in a group, so they keep their aggressiveness within themselves. If you keep 2 in a 12 gallon, they might harass your other fish.

  • this music is very fuck!!!

  • lol thats funny i have a tank with just tiger barbs and driftwood but i have some java moss :] its really easy to take care of it doesnt require to much i've had my java moss for like three years it started dying like a year ago but its recovering now it spreads fast.. i'll try to get a video response

  • Amazing tank, cool song too!

  • are you planning on adding any plants or anything? tiger barbs really love to have plants to swim in and hide in.

    very nice barbs though. :)

  • awesome and simple setup!! makes me miss my old tank..

    gotta love tiger barbs.

  • it is extremely fun to have a planted tank. come check out my vid. im still decideing about what to put in my 20 gallon(the tank at the end of the video).

  • Great video :) I love tiger barbs despite their bad rep. Is this an infirmary tank or just new, why no more decoration? I have a 20g with 6 med tigers right now and im thinking about keeping it exclusive to that, except maybe a catfish or plaeco that wont get bigger than 3". Any thoughts?

  • What is your filtration system? is the tank drilled??

  • how big can tiger barbss get

  • Up to 3 inches (7 cm).

  • love your tank!!!!! nice tigers!!! i love them sworming what are you feeding them?

  • A varied diet of flakes, bloodworms (frozen), brine shrimp (live), and NLS 1mm pellets.

In this video, I was feeding NLS 1mm pellets.

  • oh ok thanks. when i get my tank set up ill make a video of mine (55 gallon or 75 gallon)

  • how do u keep it so clean?

  • Weekly 15% water changes or 20%-25% water changes every 2 weeks.

    Also try not to over-feed.

  • They are so active. They really know when they are about to be feed. That is what I like so much about Tiger Barbs

  • love the tank, love the song :P

  • what kind of sand are you using? i would love to have sand instead of gravel, it looks so much more natural. tiger barbs are the way to go!

  • 3M Color Quartz T-Grade. They are easier to maintain than sand, but are harder to get, I got mines from a pooling/flooring company/warehouse out in NJ.

  • i want a tank like that it's awesome

  • cool tank

  • Beautiful Tank!

  • It's really simple, but it looks so good! I just got my first tropical fish a few days ago, and i've posted some videos of my tank (all of my fish are tiger barbs, half of which are of the green variety) and i love them. They are such nice fish to watch.

The lighting in that tank, combined with the lightness of the sand, and the piece of driftwood looks excellent. My tank is pretty small, but as a beginner i wouldnt have wanted anything much bigger.

  • You should put a few plant into your tank...

  • good site pretty cheap, what size is the piece you have there?

  • I'm too lazy to go measure it =D

But when I ordered it from their site, I ordered the largest ones they had "Malaysian Driftwood, 17-23".

...I've just checked their site, they seem to be out of stock on the large ones at the moment.

  • wow thanks for the site, their driftwood are cheap! this site abit trippy..how long have you been buying stuff from them? they do have some wide range of selections, some products are cheap and some are abit over but good variety. i cant beleive i never heard of this site.LOL thanks again

  • I found this site through a forum, I only bought from them once (for the cheap driftwood & some other stuff) & that was it. I usually shop from Foster & Smith online for fish supplies.

Yea, they do have a WIDE range, not strictly to home aquariums, but they are reliable & trustworthy based on my one time shopping experience.

They even have a HUGE item catalog that they sent me along with my purchase, so they've been doing this for a while.

  • how much did it cost u? shipping? is it malaysian driftwood?
