Madara was able to persuade Sasuke to help him because of Itachi. Sasuke will attack Konoha because of Itachi.

1. He wants Sasuke from Tobi after Tobi's war-Sounds like Orochimaru to me

2. He wants to master all of the techniques of the Sage of the Six Paths- Sounds like plain old Orochimaru wanting to learn all of the ninjutsu.

The truth is, Orochimaru has possessed Kabuto and is undercover. It's so obvious he's not just a side-show...

Secondly there is a theme running where Orochimaru wants BOTH Sasuke's Sharingan AND the ability to learn every jutsu in the ninja world.

Finally, Orochimaru did not get an ending manga chap NOR do we know much about him. There.

From what I remember, the Fourth Hokage trashed him but died. He walked that one off.

Sasuke killed him without the use of the seal, and really didn't need the sword.

Actually, I'm of the opinion Sasuke doesn't really need the sword anyway because he always seems to not have it when it gets real.

And then Orochimaru gets wtfpwned by Itachi after Itachi had been fighting for quite a while already weakened.

He was terrifying while nobody could catch him. But seriously. He got beat.

Actually, any situation where Sasuke needed his sword, a normal sword would have sufficed. Naruto uses little metal knives with no handguard to the same effect Sasuke uses his sword. When Sasuke went up against someone with REAL sword skill, he was defeated utterly and then they switched to whatever powers they had available.
