  • Im still a little confused. Do you lift up from your feet in the stirrups or from your knees?

  • Her rising trot is rubbish!

  • @horselover99100 @terXterXterezka1997 Why do you hate western? I ride western and I don't use spurs. Plus western spurs aren't sharp unless the rider sharpens them. English riders can use the same spurs. The spur is used for the same purpose in each style. Western is no different than English except the saddle style and the activities. Don't dis Western. What do you have against the Western riders?

  • @wildstallionstudios because western pleasure horses look lame.

  • Her horse is Georgous! :)

  • that horse isnt limping, if a horse is lame he will usually bob his head at the sore leg.

  • @LuckyHorseLover that doesnt make any sense. when my horse goes into a faster trot he doesnt limp

  • You should wear a riding hat next time .

  • helmet sweet heart.

  • @andysixrockz I agree she's a good rider but she'll never be riding again if she fell of and got bran damage

  • Is that horse limping?

  • @ArablvrXoXo no just a slow pressure horse, the jog almost like they are shuffling

  • @AlleMeineLiebe it shouldnt be like that, the horse looks lame.

  • @ArablvrXoXo are you familiar with pleasure gaits? The horse isent lame, when you trot a lame horse you can easily tell

  • She is a bit too big for that poor horse , she should buy a taller horse with a bigger build

  • @salemoooooooooooo no, the horse is the right size for her.

  • You are tooo fat to pick ur self up out of the saddle

  • It looks like she is to fat to post

  • @animallover01111

Im sure you did. However, English helps you build your seat, and to be honest with you, the best riders ride BOTH english and western.

not saying i like english, im strictly western and reining is my passion.

anyways, that's beside the point, posting isn't JUST for english. it's for trotting.

  • @xxBlackVeilBridexx Your completely right posting isn't just fro english why would you want to be bounced around and impede the horses balance just because you're in a western saddle! I didn't know english helped improve your seat. Thank you to the lady who posted the video and thank you for the tips from everyone else.

Hopefully she has a good self esteem and those idiots comments didn't affect her.

  • Why the hell do you post while riding western???

  • @ThePalomino83 - Hurp. First of all, if you were any judge of soundness in horses, you would notice that the horse is not lame at all. As for the bit, I believe that's a grazing curb, and maybe the horse is a little hard in the face, so he requires two-handed riding.

Posting in a western saddle is perfectly acceptable, and I know many people who do it, though it's a little different than posting in a hunt saddle. Maybe do some research or gain more experience before you criticize others?

  • @thatdamnhoss Thanks for pointing out how much this chick just showed her ass. 5 years is time, but get a little bit more under experience under your belt before you decide to bash someone like that.

  • @thatdamnhoss well said

  • Comment removed

  • Very simple and helpful. Thanks.

  • ive only just started but doesnt the reins need to be a bit shorter so the horses head is up straight not looking down? and i got told to look between its ears so your not looking down, but her horses head is looking down?

  • heyy @the palomino83 shut up!!! ive been riding english wester bareback aussie and edurance my whole life i know wat im doing!

  • ok this horse looks good but shes joging dumb*** u idiot! u dont even know how to post! lose a couple pounds and u will find it easier!!! your feet are moving too much ur gonna cut into her sinuses with that curb bit so tight!!!!! i just wanna smack u across the face u *****************************************!

  • @GiovvScorp excuse me but you are an idiot i understand that she may be doing things wrong but it is wrong of you to say that she should lose weight so she can ride better there are plenty of excellent ridders who are maybe a little over weight you dont have to be rail thin to ride a horse so shut your mouth

  • y r u posting its western riding not english u post in english not western ''expert village'' is more like dumbass village

  • dumbass the horse isnt even trotting!

  • Uhhhh come on now people..... Its a video of her teaching people how to post? It's kinda stupid how your like freaking out.. Chill.

  • @ThePalomino83, shes just showing people how to post. dont you think your a bit obsessed??? Your the only one thats commented. and shes doing fine in the video!!

  • @ThePalomino83 shes obviously trained in dressage. any normal rider isnt going to thrust like that. i havent been riding very long but i do know that you are completely right. you dont have to have a bit for a horse to be obedient. or spurs. there are many other ways to ride the horse without bouncing. im sure if she used any of them it would be a lot easier on the horse.

  • She looks like shes thrusting because she is posting with her knees and not stirrups. Most riders use at least a little stirrup to post. Other wise it looks like this.

  • @ThePalomino83 Everything you said was correct EXCEPT you DO post while riding western. Not pleasure, but rodeo and trail, if the horse is going fast, you post. Dont just bounce around.

  • @ThePalomino83 Although I do agree that a lot of things were done wrong in this video, there's no law claiming one can't post while in a Western saddle. I've been riding both English and Western for quite a long time now, and I've settled with an English-Style Western mix (which I love) meaning that I DO post and 2-point even when using a Western saddle, which I think is more humane than attempting a seated trot because it can hurt the horses back and spine.

  • and she thinks shes an expert #1 shes not whereing a helmet#2 she has gaint spurs on#3shes pulling on the horses mouth most of the time....POOR HORSE

  • I TOALLY AGREE WITH THIS PERSON AND IVE ONLY BEEN RIDING ONE TIME AND YOU LOOK LIKE YOU HIP THRUSTING NOT POSTING AND IF YOU WANT TO SHOW KIDS VIDEOS ON HORSE BACK RIDING ATLEAST WEAR A HELMET YOUR SETTING BAD EXAMPLES FOR THESE KIDS AND THATS NOT A SMART THING TO DO AND WANNA NO WHAT MY INSTRUCTOR TOLD ME?! SHE SAID THAT IF I WANNA LEARN HOW TO RIDE I ALWAYS HAVE TO WEAR MY HELMET AND I DO RIDE ENGLISH BUT I ATLEAST NO ENOUGH ABOUT HORSES and it looked like you were bouncing in the seat

  • @ThePalomino83 you go i was think i ve been riding 4 a yr and i can ride beterr than that

  • She looks horrible

  • @ThePalomino83 Completely agree with you. I haven't been riding a year and I can trot better than that.

  • i get it know thanx:)

  • tthat horse was really on his fores as opposed to his hinds and look a little slurry and not tracking up at all.... is this a western horse thing or is it just this one?

also i noticed she is not doing it at all efforlessly and i looks very laboured... would this be the way th horse is trotting too?

  • In almost all of these videos, I see people calling spurs cruel. And they can be, if you dont know how to use them. However, using spurs properly isn't cruel at all. If you don't like spurs, whatever, I don't like to ride with them, but they are just an aid so you can better cue your horse.

  • @kfletchable th problem i have with th spurs on this particular vid is that they are sharp ones and keep bashing her horses sides as she "posts". i wear spurs sometimes but when i wear them, i use a lot more my lower leg than my actuall heels and just use them to give a nudge now and then. also, my spurs are blunt and only about a centemetre long.

  • @rubbishrider861 Oh yeah im not trying to defend the video or anything, im just tired of people bashing spurs when they dont know how to use them haha. And I agree, I only use mine (when i use them) to nudge :)

  • @kfletchable ikr:) lol i dont understand why some people have to rely on them so much, they think it acceptable to use huge cruel ones on horses who clearly have completely no need for them:) lol someone else took my horse round an XC course th other day and i really didnt want them to as they have such horrid sharp spurs and rely mostly on using them. my horse (like many others and by th looks of it th one here) is pretty responsive anyway, so he needs small spurs or none really!! haha:)

  • I find this confusing. I've only been riding for six months, but I don't think this lady is rising properly. I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but she looks terrible to me. The horse looks really uncomfortable, too :(

  • all in all. regardless if you do not post in western (i ride english) In one i the shows i went to, There was western and english riders. (different divisions of course) but in the western ring they were posting in their western saddles during the flats.

  • @ThePalomino83 The horse is more comfortable with a person posting rather than jumping up and down causing the horse to have a sore back. I have been riding for 14 years and my trainers are actually horse judges, so before you start hating on other people, learn a little.

  • @ThePalomino83 Maybe she doesnt want to wear a helmet, some Western riders dont. Also Colby is a great show horse. She has reins that are called split reins wher you have both hands on the reins. She uses spurs for the horse to listen to her. When she was pulling on Colby's head she was setting her head. The horse isnt lame, at all, the rider would have noticed. This lady isnt bouncing, shes posting. Also you can too post in western, tons of people do.

  • JUST LETTING EVERYONE KNOW I RIDE WESTERN AND ENGLISH AND I POST BOTH... AND MOST RODEO PEOPLE DO ALONG WITH BARREL RACERS

  • LOOK ITS NOT HER FAULT WHAT SHE IS DOING ITS THE PEOPLE THAT TAUGHT HER SO I THOUGHT SHE DID GOOD,,,,SO SHUTUP ABOUT IT UR NOT HER TRAINER AND SHE DONT NEED YOUR NASTY COMMENTS!!!!

  • @ThePalomino83 The horse isn't lame, it's soft in its bit and relaxed. head is dropped. it's called a jog and a trot. Stupid.

  • If people complain about how spurs are unnatural, they you shouldn't ride a horse. Riding a horse isn't natural. Shut up you ignorant fucks.

  • @ThePalomino83 You can obviously tell you ride English. Yes, I agree with the helmet, she should be wearing a helmet. I ride Western and I wear a helmet, but really? You can post in western, Its smoother, feels nice on your body, as well as a horses. She isn't plopping in the saddle, shes POSTING. When you POST you're going to make noise. Its called WESTERN PLEASURE. There aren't rules when you're doing it for fun, get it right and stop bitching for pointless things.

  • @shelbylyn94 I haven't ridden Western in a couple of years, so my memory of it is a little hazy, but... The way that she was posting, even if it's Western pleasure, is hard on her horse's back. It just looks like she's not using her leg to support herself, and she IS falling back into the saddle instead of lowering herself back down. Please, though, I'm not on of those bitchy English riders who act like they know everything. I'm always open to learning new things, and I may very well be wrong.

  • @shelbylyn94 Oh, also, there are in fact rules, even when you're doing it for fun. Riders must be safety conscious at all times, and posting improperly poses a threat to both rider and horse.

  • @ThePalomino83 Yeah ExpertVillage is not a good place for horse riding tips...im pretty sure that anyone who comes to the channel will figure that out because of all the negative coments.

And did anyone notice how the horse looked really off?....and yes, i ment even for a western jog.

  • if you notice on all her videos this is the only horse they let her ride, why mess up any more horses.

  • and also why on EARTH r u wearing spurs? that is horrible!! and ur feet r in the wrong position aswell but god thats cruel. please just give up horse riding

  • LOL the poor horse hahahaha no wonder why the horse looks constipated. ive done like one lesson at horse riding and i can trot better then that and plz learn how to hold ur reins right BEFORE u teach everyone to and not a good example? no helmet? and LOL fuck you suck. just saying

  • Ok, please wear a helmet. 2nd, this is not posting. You do not post to a western jog. And to everyone saying spurs are cruel, they are not cruel when used properly!! This horse is lovely I would love to see her do some reining or western flat classes. She would for sure be a judge favorite! This woman is a good rider. She isn't hauling on the horse's mouth. She has good connection with the horse's mouth. I would just like to see her on a bigger horse. And finally, this horse is not lame.

  • I'm sorry and I know that English riding is different to Western, but you need to learn to trot girl, even I can do better than that and stop using spurs its cruel.

  • Horrible rider!! She's just moving her hips back and forth! Plus I want to rip those spurs off and jab them repeatedly in her side to see how she likes it!

  • she needs to speed up her trot

  • pretty horse. bad rider. the rider needs to loosen up, not get loose but she is very stiff looking. she needs to tighter he thigh and get up out of the saddle more. and i see 2 major safty issues here. no helmet ( what a bad example on a tutorial! ) and heels were up! If she were to fall, her feet could get stuck. and also, was that horse lame??!!! she looks a bit like my horse did when he had a stone bruise...it needs to be checked out.

  • What a beautiful horse!! But such a bad rider... Why is she using her spurs so much?!?!! How cruel :( And this is hip thrusting.... not posting. Sorry.

  • i understand horses are very strong animals but he looks far too lightbuilt to be carrying her

  • She is not hauling on the horses mouth, she is correcting him, then softening. And its not like shes driving her spurs in her horse 24/7, she is giving him a little impulsion, and taking them off of her horse when he correctly does something. Thats how pleasure horses are trained, Get over it!

  • Posting the trot in western is the same as English. Remember, horses cannot distinguish the difference in disciplines, only humans do. The movements of a single horse are the same regardless of a Western or English saddle.

Posting was invented to give rider and horse relief from constantly jarring in the saddle. this just proves that you can post in western

  • thump thump thump thump, that's all I heard

  • i LOVE horses thay are soo good to have as a pet just ReALLLLY hard work:0

  • actually that is posting...not thrusting and you have only been riding for five years and shes obviously knows what shes doing if someone hired her. make your own vids if you dont like it.

  • ur not supported to go with the motion of the horse cuz that will mess u up ect....

  • @tomboy4always umm yea you do..

  • @LongLiveCowboys18 ummm No u don't

  • @tomboy4always Do you ride Western or English?

  • @LongLiveCowboys18 western u?

  • @tomboy4always Western. What breed of horse do you ride?

  • @LongLiveCowboys18 American Quarter Horse u?

  • @tomboy4always Part quarter horse part thoroughbred.

  • wow can she stop " having a go"

  • the lady doesnt know how to post right

  • this fat ass was to heavy to even lift herself off the saddle. i'm just sayin..

  • she just seems to be bouncing from her bum to her.... (front part) and doesnt she realise how LAME this horse is? Seriously it looks like all of her videos were filmed on the same day, thats verging on cruelty.

  • ok it doesnt look like shes posting!!! and she looks like shes coming forward, your supposed to go up not forward!~!

  • @MsMolly789 When she posts she is standing then leaning foward. If the horse was to get spooked then from the lady leaning foward her body would land in the seat. If she was just standing up she would fall backwards if the horse would have taken off.

  • this is hideous and nothing to do with EXPERT

  • OMG, can you see? she has spikes on her legs!!! THATS CRUEL!!

  • @terXterXterezka1997 Shoot! They are long spikes!! This unskillful lady should not ride any horses!

  • @terXterXterezka1997 Shoot! They are long spikes! This fat lady should not ride ANY horses!

  • @eto She just wants te horse to listen to her :(

  • @eto Ok first of all you obviously dont know anything about horses. Her horse is a quarter horse and quarter horses are ment to carry heavy loads. Second Clydesdales, Percherons, Shires, Freasians, Thoroughbreds, and many more are BUILT to carry heavy loads. And ya I can agree she needs lesons on how to ride everybody does.

  • @terXterXterezka1997 OMG AGAIN you too obviously dont know ANYTHING about horses. Those "Spikes" are called spurs and they make horses listen to their owners to make them go. There is absolutely nothing cruel about spus.

  • @terXterXterezka1997 u mean her spers r spikey but english just has ball or a pont for there spers ya i hate western i ride english

  • @horselover99100 YEAH! I hate Western too!!!

  • @terXterXterezka1997 i know right!

  • @horselover99100 oh and i sent u a friend request

  • The horse seems dying with the lady on its back... poor thing

  • @eto i agree with you!

  • @mygreathorse Thats deffinetly not an arab. The bridge of the nose would be a bit curved. And not all of the horses are arabs and i havnt seen one in these videos. :))

  • Comment removed

  • @mygreathorse Hey its horsielover18 Im on my other account because the other one wasnt working to well. But anyways I know how you feel not knowing much about horse breeds I felt the same when I got into horses. But I soon studied more about them and now I am proud to say I know a few. Please dont be sorry and hopefully you will eventually see an Arab. :)

  • @HorsieLover18 I agree that is not an arab and it is probobly a quater horse because the bones are to thick the chest is to deep and the neck is to thick. the face also doesnt have an arab look to it. the nostrils are to small. not all arabs have a "dished face" I have 2 arabs 1 is a purebreed (not a very dishy face) all of her ansesters are purebreed arabs and the other is a half breed (arab and quater horse) and he he has a dishyer face than my purebreed. yet he has the quater horse eyes

  • @mygreathorse these are not arabs they are quater horses because the chest is to deep the bones are to thick the neck is to thick. and a horse can carry a great deal of weight. the arab breed is a strong and sturdy horse. I have 2 arabs 1 purebreed 1 halfbreed. Disregard this lady.. she cant ride worth a crap

  • I can see the discoloration from where she "nudges" her mare with the spurs and she lands too hard. Thats goign to be one messed up horse later..

  • @TheLuckyGirl91 Notice I said MAINLY. I ride both English and Western style, and it can be done in both styles. Most of the time it is associated with English, therefore; wouldn't it make more sense to show this in English?? I understand where you are coming from, but next tome, please read and comprehend the ENTIRE comment. Thank you.

  • I ride with a curb bit english (KC is a tough ride sometimes and he responds better with a curb) and of course I hold my reins with two hands. Since she is teaching a beginner, she will be holding the reins with two hands because when most people start western they ride with direct pressure.

  • 1:52 you should know (you need lots of practice then)

  • Why are u posting western?

  • @mel1995xoxo you can post in a western saddle. I have a experienced riding coach who has taught many excellent riders and she has her western students learn to post and sit the jog.

  • @mel1995xoxo It is easyer on the horse. my mom's horse (i ride him western cause i am not through training him yet) and his trot is very choppy and is very hard to sit because it is so bouncy.posting eases his back and helps him slow down. now with my horse i have control on how slow or fast she trots and i can sit her fastest trot. I have never had a riding lesson in my life and i can out ride my friends riding instructor heck they have taken lessons from me and retought it to her students

  • your horse is constantly behind the verticle...ehhh wrong...and yah do shorten your stirrups

  • This isn't good. Posting is mainly an English thing too.

  • @Horsesletmefly not all the time.

  • @Horsesletmefly but knowing how to post helps your western riding too.

  • @ArabianImages I Know.. Like I said, I ride western too, It's just that when I think Posting, I think english.

  • Yoou look up western pleasure & you'll see that all carry there heads like this

  • Well ladies and gentle men , I ride my own horse in competitions all the time & win . When they are collecting there heads are down & the kneck is curved. I have done many clinics with the best of the best. So maybe you should learn how to ride & stop telling me to learn.

  • i cant foucus bc all i hear is boom boom BOOM!!! bc of her aweful posture!!! dang learn how to ride!!!

  • Also, she is in the curb bit because if you knew ANYTHING, You would know that training is in stages, and that the horse advanced, and moved past a snaffle an onto a curb. She is'nt ramming into the horses back, she is rocking if anything because she is in longer sturrops with a smooth horse. it souds bad becasue of her mic.

  • This woman DOES know what she is doing, she is on the correct diagonal EXCEPT when she tells you how to switch diagonal and what not to do, but she switches back smoothly. she is over collecting due to this being a young horse who is obviously just been taking out of draw reins, or martingale, she is over bending on her own not by the trainer at all. She is holding it with two hands because obvously this horse is trained both ways, one hand is slow and collected, two hands is a bit faster.

  • @livelaughride17 i know right when i saw this again i realized it but its still all rough and bouncey for her

  • omg your on the wrong diagonal and you slamming on the horses back i casnt believe your in EXSPERTville why dont you show us howe to ride one you know the proper technuice

  • What breed is this? She's beautiful.

  • She's not that bad actually.

Maybe she had only a western saddle. And she's trying to post. Whats the matter with you? Youtuber trolls i guess.

And she is posting right, kitkat8376. By the way.

  • this horse is waaaay behind the bit. Poor thing has to look out the top of her eyes to even see the ground. Horrible horsemanship. No collection at all in the barrel area and overcranked on the face. Why is this person listed as an expert?

  • Why is she posting in a western saddle? I don't know much about western riding as I do eventing, but when the western trainer at my barn is teaching how to trot, he doesn't post. She especially shouldn't post if she doesn't know how, which is clear from this video.

This is frustrating because the screen name of the video is EXPERT village, which implies this is correct.

I see this lady is in Wilmington, NC. I'm 45 min away- come to Jacksonville and I'll teach you how to actually post!

  • Ok, for one, this horse doesn't need a shanked bit. Also, too much contact for a curb. Hold your god damn reins in one hand and give this amazing horse to someone who actually know what the hell they're doing.

  • @TheHantard Although I dont know this women and I'm looking at this for the first time, she is doing a lot of wrong things....but why are you so angry about it? Is it personal? or you have some inside issues?

  • you look superb on that horse

  • Comment removed

  • @runningXfree Yes she is doing this wrong but her neck is curbed because she is a pleasure horse & she is collecting , idiot.

  • @ScenexoQueenox oh so your calling me an idiot? ya i'd like to see you do it better? I own a pleasure horse. I show that pleasure horse. I win on that pleasure horse all the time. I think I know what I am doing. I am not trying to make the woman feel like an idiot. I was just giving a simple few tips. and no pleasure horse has a curved neck like that. it should be a straight line from the head to the withers to the butt. Got that? Hope so. If not go learn it.

  • Comment removed

  • @runningXfree not everyone competes at those levels (yeah i know, spellcheck:) does not mean they are ignorant about horses and how to ride.

  • Oh my gosh just leave her alone, if you can do it better film it and post it then we'll see what people say about you and how that makes you feel. Admittedly she's not that great but at least she's having a go.

  • @jemima960 thank you very much. i'm glad someone sticks up for a fellow horse person! :D

  • @jemima960 yes but shes teaching, if shes teaching or setting an example you cant just be having a go

  • all shes doing is bouncing from the back of the saddle to the front shes not lifting : /

  • Her stirrups seem to be too long..

  • can someone help me i can never make that clicky noise to make a horse trot :( how do you do it?!?!? thanks xoxo

  • LOL. She's short xD

  • In Australia I call it rising trot. and we check our diagonal :)

  • Nothing against her but she should lose some weight. The horse must have hard time when carrying her. I have a sense of awkwardness when watching the video.

  • fat poo kelli

  • Look how overbent this poor mare is.

  • what the hell? Spurs should be outlawed! There are no need for them if you really know how to ride!

  • @Halfdcent I disagree completely. Some of the best riders out there use spurs. Spurs are meant for cue and collection refinement.

  • @IStartWithGlowPlugs We can agree to disagree. Spurs irritate the hell out of a horse in the ribs and stomach when you poke them You can see the discoloration on their hair where they were spurred. Do you like being poked in the ribs?

  • @Halfdcent Well think of it this way. Do you like to be saddled and ridden everyday? Do you like to have a bit in your mouth? Its the same concept.

  • @IStartWithGlowPlugs whatever

  • That is the worst looking post I have ever seen! :p

She needs to learn how to do it before she makes a video on it!!

  • That chick shouldn't be teaching anything about horses.

  • Why is everyone saying its crap and that she has no clue what shes talking about...the posting trot is used when their trotting and thyey have to go round in dresarge...70% of all the people who have commented saying its bollocks n crap etc...you dont even know what your on about.

  • this should be called how to ride ur horse, LITERALLY! all shes doin is rubin erself off the sadle? thats the strangest way of trotting ur horse ive ever seen in my life?

  • @93Paulie93 its not actually...its used is dresarge when there trotting and they have to go round.

  • Wonder if this woman has used a bag of peanuts to "train" her horse in the arena most days. I hate to see a horse with it's nose working towards the ground like it has been "trained" to roll peanuts around in a circle. Kelli, try making a real trail ride someday before you instruct horse handling/ riding. Thank you

  • @bubbayum11 i saw a horse once that trotted with its nose practically touching the ground and a straight neack, they said it was trained to do that.
