Hi from Greece (Thessaloniki)!! I had this song in a cassete tape in 1985, never heard that again for 26 years. We were trying with our band to play it, but never succeeded. I'm very touched and excited for these memories. A big Thank You and thumbs up for this great song and your great group.
Heh Greg glad to hear you remastering all those wonderful songs. I would be there in Sydney, but living in London for 18 years now. I had the Love Inn in Brisbane and had the great pleasure of booking you for some of your very special Qld shows. any chance of coming this way
Hi - for the interested - we're dong a show in Sydney 9th September to launch remastered CD. Also probably one or two in Melbourne still being worked out.
You can go to "feel presents" the guy who's putting out cd - and look for "on the street" and it's part of that series.
thank you mr appel for uploading this. very very fond memories. i own all of it on vinyl. please don't forget: "dishwashing liquid" "codeine" and "i never loved a man" when you do the remastered CD!!
I know you have a lot of followers in the music industry and congratulations on the LWTTT doco. It will surely serve as a landmark documentary of the Australian music industry (I think It already has).
I first saw you play at the Basement some 2 years ago supporting the Clowns and I am looking forward to the re-mixed compilation CD.
Greg ... do you know if Stuart Nedrie is playing in any band in Sydney ? I used to see him and Layla up the Graphic Arts where I used to work in the 90's. Im aking you becuase maybe you come across him somewhere.
this one comes from "tales of the unexpected" it's going to be on the new compile, called "Ode to Nothing' we're just in the middle of artwork, and have finished remastering. Lighthouse Keepers probably to play 2 shows, one in Sydney one in Melbourne.
I'll make a clip for one the songs on the compile soon, as I've found some great stills. we look so young etc... oh well
lovely. another fave track of mine from the day and still. never did see this clip at the time but had this song on so often.. still have the vinyl. I enjoyed many a live show as a youngster ... thanks
Hey Greg, great stuff. My fave LK song. I thought I had it on 45 but looked now and could only find Pel Mel and Church discs, could have been on a JJJ compilation somewhere ... it was incredible to see Mick in the video for the first time after after what, 25 years ? I remember dancing many a time to the Particles. Wonder what Astrid and Peter are doing now ? Thanks for keep us in the loop for the compilation CD !
I'm slowly putting together one, so give me a year. Don't know about vinyl. I think it will be a CD remastered from the old tapes. thanks for your interest
@gregappel You allowed me (a total stranger) to record your farewell gig (at Gaelic Club?) on a Fostex 4-Track off the desk onto chrome tape. I recorded vox on a seperate stereo track. Must digitise and give to you one day. I am a DJ/electronic producer now but I just loved you guys and reckon you were *the* most under-rated Oz band in the 80's. Maybe because you steadfastly rejected glam fashion trends and I salute you for it.
If I look at the Lighthouse Keepers while holding my head at a particular angle, they appear to be the greatest band ever in the history of the whole entire universe. Other times I just think they're (you're) brilliant. I send out vest amounts of love and gratitude in response to this music.
Great mullet Steven :)

Haven't heard this song for about 20 years. Reminds me of Newtown in Sydney for some reason. Excellent.

Brilliant, great band - surely this would be as good a place as any to petition for reissues to replace my scratched vinyl?
