I'm not sure why the need for a Rendezvous Pitch Maneuver. If it's about showing off, that I understand but if it has a practical use, that use eludes me.
The sequence along with the outline of the Shuttle's bottom surface reminded me very much of the passenger shuttle docking maneuver in the 2001 Space Odyssey movie. Pity they didn't throw in a few rolls along the longitudinal axis!
