9 times out of ten when you make a call to a call center you can't understand them . . . and if she was on the phone I would have asked her to repeat herself a million times because I can't understand 1/2 the words out of her mouth . . .

Aside of any religious feelings-this is completely crazy! This woman really seriously expects to stand in front of a class of children and teach them in a a school which employs men and women in an age when security and one's identity are so important. There is no argument- this should not be allowed not only in this school but also in all public places. I find it spooky as do most people in this country.

How can she argument the fact that the veil is not a barrier to communication whilst she (purposely?) didn't wear it for the interview with a male governor?!
If she wears the veil, she should have been honest (with them and herself) enough to wear the veil for the interview....she probably knew that she wouldn't get the job in a Church of England school so she "cheated" them in a way! Thats my opinion anyway....

Nice to read a Muslim`s view much the same as mine. It is this type of woman that grabs head lines and gives people the impression that Muslims are awkward and demanding. When infact if more Muslims like you agreed about these fools...it would make for a far better cohesive satate of affairs. I think a lot of this nonsense is creating apartheid within communities.

Thank you, I totally agree, unfortunately it seems that "this type of people"are viewed (via media) in the eye of the general public as being representatives of the whole Muslim community when they are (luckily) not!
I know lots of Muslims who share the same opinion as me, it's a shame we don't hear their voices (or they don't make themselves heard) often enough.

It would be a good idea if the media paid attention to those Muslim women that are emancipated and empowered inclusive of a stay at home mother.
When Barones Warsi spoke out, she was pelted with eggs by those that follow a different branch of Islam. I guess that may be why we do not get to hear the general view of the majority of Muslims that think as say I do. This is why I think the Gov should stamp those intolerant and demanding types out.

Sadest thing is we in the west are now beginning to treat muslim women in a bad way when they choose to wear what they like. While we call for their freedom, we are quick to speak against their freedom. That is a hypocritical twist. As a Christian, I can only call for the freedom of a Muslim woman in the west to wear what she wants without political interference.

wearing the bur\kha was incredibly dumb back a thousand years ago and now it is even more so. we are in the 21st century, idiots. you can have your crazy religion if you want to, but dont come to western europe and the USA and ask us to make allowances for your ridiculous customs. If you want to live this way, live in an Islamic dominated country. Why do you even want to come to the West to live? BECAUSE IT IS SO MUCH BETTER than Islamic countries! Can u really blame the school for sacking her? She didn't wear the veil in front of the MALE headteacher, but she had to wear it front of other MALE colleages. Also, by wearing the veil she is segregating herself from society. Its like wering a paperbag over your head. Can non-muslim women work in a muslim school? There is too much political correctness in our country today. Makes me wonder why people are starting to vote for the BNP.

this is awful. The women wanted to belittle the school, wanting fame for herself, making a big issue over nothing and then wham, she got owned by a simple question. usually the news presenters on BBC shy away though this was good journalistic questions. Why make an issue women, just hate filled, trouble making, attention seeking, sex less life media, attention looking, probably pushed by a muslim lawyer silly women.
