You're lucky you actually received your rings! They immediately billed my Visa, but never bothered to send me anything for it, and completely ignored my inquiry into the matter. They couldn't even be bothered to respond to complaints filed at Ripoff Report and the Better Business Bureau!
Hi Jim, I've recently read few reviews on these rings and i've heard that becasue they're made of two halves they are not very strong. Can you give me your experience with this and are the straps and buckles completely secure? thanks.
@TraceurMaaz I've never had a problem with them. I'll say that they are not professional gymnastic rings - i.e., you can't do big swings on them. They were never designed for things like that.
@jarden69 Those devices you're talking about are called "grips". They are used to hold onto the rings better when doing dynamic skills (giants, etc). The rings sold in the video are NOT to be used for those high level, dynamic skills, so you will not need a pair of grips.
I would advise against workout gloves, as they make it harder to hold onto the rings and get a good false grip. Build those callouses up!
Just buy the rings from amazon.co.uk. I also live in London and got mine there. Also make sure you get chalk....you'll thanks me later. But, more importantly, do not buy the rings from ring training.com. They sell them now for like 95 bucks...what a rip off. You can get them for half the price at other websites. But do get a pair and they're absolutely amazing for developing upper body strength. The best tool, for sure.
I'm from London, England and want a pair of these, but most sites only sell it in America; does anyone know where I can get a pair of these, at a reasonable price?
I just bought the new rings and the directions are terrible. I need a closeup of the entire step of putting the webbing through the cam. Can you please help? Thankyou in advance!
I was considering buying a pair of EXF rings myself. I have what I guess you would call the Version II of the Elite Rings (or Elite Rings II). When I gave the Rings a try, they slipped and I found out I set them up wrong. I had a lot of trouble fitting them through the D-ring (I forget exactly what it's called). Is that feature improved on this version?
@matrix1240 I've never had a problem with the straps slipping on any of the versions. Getting it through that buckle definitely can be a challenge, but pressing the spring clip as far as possible before you feed the strap through helps make this much easier. It takes practice to get it quickly.
The lever of the cam buckle has been raised to a higher angle so that pressing it down is not as difficult as before. I have this version and version "2" and with this one it is MUCH easier than before. My thumbs were reaching muscle failure when I would set up version 2.
The rings themselves are very solid and lightweight. Highly recommend.
@rafaelotsif Proper nutrition helps people gain mass. The rings provide unique and challenging exercises for the upper body. I think they're worth the investment.
thank you for answering! i am going to order them one of these days, also nice site and channel! you inspired me to have one arm chin up and planch push up as one of my goals!
@ArgosFitness Just to clarify for others. The pinky side of the wrist sits at the bottom of the ring at the start of the muscle-up. When the arm and hand flip around to the dip position, it's now the middle of the hand that's at the bottom of the ring.
So there's a slight horizontal shifting in where the weight rests. A ring that spins (and therefore shifts) makes this easier.
@KajHags Assume you mean bodyweight? Yeah, I've been weighing in around 180 lbs recently. Was 161 last spring when I weighed in for a powerlifting comp. 175 is usually my normal walking weight, so I'm going above and beyond! A bit of fat with that gain though :op
I just recently bought the Elite Rings for a friend of mine since we live in Europe. Tested them, and they work like a charm, great piece of equipment and pretty cheap for that price. I highly recommend these as the perfect assisting rings you'll ever get. If you've ever been in a gymnastics gym you'll know what I am talking about.

I've never done rings but want to buy them and start.
I've noticed guys wearing wrist straps with something in their palms for ring work....like a curved hard thing?
Are these necessary, or can you do rings with just your bare hands?
How about workout gloves?
Thanks

@BeastSkills Question: Do you know of any setup that Would be useful for the dynamic and high level skills?
Great review!

@redeemer1kamili These rings are not meant for dynamic skills. (swings, giants, etc)

Interesting note about the advantages of a free spinning ring.

i've actually been looking into getting a pair of rings just for my home gym
which set of rings are the best bang for buck?
not looking to spend a ton, just get a solid pair of rings
nba8340 2 years ago
@nba8340 I've only used the rings from RingTraining. They work great! And they get used a lot at our gym. Never needed to look anywhere else.
BeastSkills 2 years ago
definetely worth the money over building one of those homemade sets of rings?

@nba8340 definitely.
