First, it is a hard song to sing though easier by yourseld,as a duet, it's a killer. Then they make her come down those stairs in a dress and she almost fell at the botton. That orchestra is horrible and her back-up singers aren't helping. Also. I bet at this point she had sung it so many times she was sick of it and that's why she's playing around with it. singing the same song eight performances a week plus appearances like this can drive you mad.

How could anyone - with ears and a brain - describe this performance as impressive? Its horrific - the vocal phrasing is crude and vulgar - the vibratto is painful - the orchestration truly horrible - the whole thing is a disaster.

If you had the slightest idea of what you were talking about, maybe someone woukd take you serious. Any idiot will realize within 30 seconds that the "band" has no idea what they're playing. They can't hit the nodes where they're are supposed to hit, and the tempi is rediculous, and not steady by a longshot. And the only thing that actually performs flawlessly is Elaine.

A truly horrific version - totally without class or respect for the song. Hideous orchestration - ugly vocal phrasing added to Elaine Paige's always aggressive vibrato. She should hang her head in shame over this.
